Excellent read! It was thrilling, mysterious and full of twists. Best to go into this one blind, you will be blown away.

The whirlwind this book sent me through. I loved this book more than words. This thriller was fast paced, completely addictive and intense. You will ride that rollercoaster of twists and turns and when you think you know…you don’t. This book gave me ‘The Vanishing Hour’ vibes which I was literally here for! We follow a widow who is determined to figure out what happened to her husband and why he spent most of his time in an apartment.

What she doesn’t know is the secrets that not just this apartment holds but the entire complex and the people within it. Anna and Cass’ (the superintendent of the motel) lives start to overlap and intermingle as they both begin to be intertwined in a dangerous situation.

If you love a book with a beautiful slow burn, dual pov, found family, a mysterious motel backdrop then this book is for you. I couldn’t set this book down until the very last page and let me tell you—that ending will have you sitting in silence 🤐. One of my new favorite authors! Add this book to your TBR right away!!!

This one kept me turning the pages! Cass is a woman who has been through a lot in her relationship with Reid. He ends up throwing her out of their house for a younger woman and Cass ends up a "Handy-mam" at a run down apartment complex. Cass ends up mixed up with a few tenants and things start to get bad for a few of them. Anna moves to the Sycamore apartment that her husband, who had committed suicide, was renting to use as a studio for his painting. Secrets start to come together and twists start to fall into place. Is everything what it looks like or is there a lot more to it? Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy.

What a FUN and fast paced book! Two very different stories take place at this very rundown apartment complex, the Sycamores. Cass and Anna are both dealing with larger than life problems while at the Sycamores that seem to spiral out of control at the same time. I loved both of these characters and how this story unfolds! I would highly recommend this mystery-thriller!
Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Graydon House for this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I very much enjoyed this book. Thank you for the opportunity to read it early. This is a new author to me and she did not disappoint. I can’t wait for the opportunity to read another from her. It kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing the entire time. I teach elementary age kids so will not be recommending it to my students but will be recommending it to family and friends. I loved the characters and their personalities and descriptions. I loved the storyline and the suspense that I get the entire book.

Okay, hear me out. I think this author loves weird and hoodrat characters for her books. Nothing really wrong with that, it just reminds me of the old me when I grew up in a trailer, poor and miserable.. I’m dead serious. That poor old life is one I’d clearly love to forget.

Cass and Anna both live at the Sycamores. An old run down motel turned into sad small apartments. What brought them there in itself is sad. Cass’s husband was a cheating prick that basically forced her to move out with no money. Anna’s husband committed suicide. Her husband, Henry, had a room there where he turned it into his own ‘painting studio’. Anna wants to stay and dig into the final weeks that led to his death, desperately trying to understand his decision to end his life.

Throw in some pool girls, a few bad guys and you got characters that are very similar to ones that played in that old show My Name is Earl with Jason Lee. Remember that show? Maybe you don’t. If you do, then you get my drift. Yes, it was funny. I love me some Jason Lee. However, I don’t really care for these types of characters in my books. It’s a me thing, I guess.

I did enjoy the reveal and the why. I suspected this person very early on and nothing really wrong with that. That makes a nice twist.

What I didn’t like were a few other plot lines thrown in. The dialogue is somewhat straight from the trailer type nonsense. The pool girls are pure comedic hoodrats. Some of it was actually entertaining, I’ll admit. Some just silly.

Cool fact- Seraphina Nova Glass is an Assistant professor and Playwright-In-Residence at the University of Texas, in Arlington. Just a little over an hour away from me.

Thrilling. Fast-paced. Seraphina Nova Glass is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. Told from dual perspective, this bingeable mystery leaves you guessing until the shocking end. I love a neighborhood drama where the setting (an old motel turned apartments) becomes just as much of a character as the actual people living there. I have a feeling this is going to be a top thriller of 2024. If you’re looking for a domestic thriller complete with murder, where everyone at one point is a suspect, drama, and friends that become family - look no further. My only complaint? I did kind of see the suspect from the beginning… but the twists that come throughout? Shocking!

WOW! I loved every single thing about this book. The characters, the setting, the mystery, the drama, the twists, the ending! Perfection. And I rarely say that about thrillers.

This was very fast paced with non-stop twists and turns. I truly mean it when I say I couldn’t put it down. Read the synopsis, avoid the reviews, and go into this one knowing very little.

I can see this being a contender for best thriller of 2024! There is nothing else I can say… this is a must read.

The Vacancy in Room 10 // Releases: April 9, 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Many thanks to the talented and sweetest photographer @this.human.reads for the pic 🫶🏻 mad love.

#ad I received an eARC of this book - all thoughts are mine and mine alone - many thanks @thrillerbookloverspromotions and @seraphinanovaglass #partner

This book begins with a kick and will have you glued to the pages throughout. There’s been a suicide at the Sycamores - or was it a suicide. When the widow comes to stay in her husband’s old apartment, she’s determined to find out what happened to her husband.

What she doesn’t know is all the random people who also live at this apartment building. Also with a bar right across the street there’s never a dull moment at the Sycamore apartments.

This book not only carries the suspense it packs the laughs also. Hilarious, laugh out loud moments.

This is another book that you forget you’re even reading. If you love thrillers - you’ll love this book.

You will become attached to every character - even the slightly more creepy ones - combined, they make for a killer read.

I just reviewed The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass. #TheVacancyinRoom10 #NetGalley

4.5/5 ⭐️

This book is a rare find for a thriller! I'm in awe at how invested in the characters I became, including the side characters. In addition, the setting of a motel turned landing place for the downtrodden was absolute perfection.

The residents of The Sycamore are a tight knit and quirky crew, with no secrets between them (well, maybe a couple). Told from dual POV we follow Cass, the superintendent for the dilapidated complex who is just trying to scrape by - by any means necessary. Anna is recently widowed and moves to The Sycamore to try to find answers on her late-husband's death. I won't say more as I think it's best to go into this book blind.

With short chapters, lovable characters, and twists galore I have no doubt you will have as hard of a time putting this book down as I did. Definitely add this one to your tor!

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book where every predictions I had was flat out WRONG. I loved every second of this book. The relatable HILARIOUS characters. Every twist and utter shock. The literal parts that made me laugh out loud. The heartfelt moments. This is my second book of 2024 and I can say that this is one that’s going to be a favorite of the month, if not the whole year. This book releases on 4/9/2024 and I’ll be telling everyone I know to get it! I am 100% a fan of Seraphina Nova Glass now!

Having recently finished “The Vacancy in Room 10" by Seraphina Nova Glass, I am happy to have had the chance for the Advanced Reader’s Edition e-copy; thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing!

I was SURE I had this one figured out at 57%! NOT!! Spending the first day of 2024 immersed in this twisty thriller was the perfect start to the New Year. It was fun! It was shocking! Wow!!
The quirky characters in this apartment complex, The Sycamores, were fun to get to know. Whether outside with “the pool girls” or behind closed doors, all the dark (and deadly) secrets revealed among this family of neighbors will keep this story on my list of thrillers to recommend in the year ahead.

The leading characters are Anna and Cass. Told in their POV's. Cass is a superintendent for an apartment complex called Sycamores. Anna is recently widowed, her husband is found dead in the banks of the Rio Grande. Anna sells her home ends up in the same apartment complex as Cass.

Cass and Anna are strong characters and stars of the book. There is also Jackie, Crystal and Rose with their witty banter. The book starts off strong, it was very engaging!

This is a great neighborhood thriller! Everyone knows each others business, with zero secrets.

Complex, Trust Nobody, and Engaging! 3.5 stars!

Thanks so much to NetGalley for the advanced copy! This book will be released 4/9/24.

💫Have you read a book that just hits all the marks you look for in a good read? Vacancy is just that kind of book! I loved all of the characters! The writing was on point! Told from multiple POV and best of all…. The amazing reveal at the end. I won’t be surprised if this one turns out to be my favorite thriller of the year!! It’s that good!

Thank you for the opportunity

This one surprised me.

I thought it was going to be standard domestic suspense. It ended up being darker and sadder than I expected.

Our two main characters are very different women, but I liked each of them. They’re very strong and mostly not door mats. (Mostly. They do tend to excuse the most OUTRAGEOUS behavior and take responsibility for the fact that some men can’t help but accidentally fall literally into other women’s genitals. But whatevs.)

I figured out the *who* of things pretty quickly, but not the *why* and the book definitely kept me reading.

Would read the author again.

Seraphina Nova Glass’s latest novel, “The Vacancy in Room 10,” embarks on a tantalizing narrative journey, albeit with a somewhat sluggish onset. Unlike other books of similar length, which I typically devour in a single sitting, this one demanded intermittent pauses, especially during the initial chapters. However, as the story unfolds and intensifies, it becomes increasingly engrossing.
The novel intricately weaves the lives of two women residing at a motel, each harboring distinct motivations. The alternating perspectives between these characters add a dynamic layer to the narrative, though it can initially challenge readers to keep track of names and details.
A standout feature of Glass’s writing is its vivid descriptiveness, which immerses readers in the novel’s setting. It often feels like being part of the scenes, perhaps gossiping alongside the characters by the poolside. The story is rife with clandestine snooping and deep-seated secrets, creating an atmosphere where trust is a valuable but scarce commodity.
The plot is replete with unexpected twists and shocking revelations, maintaining a grip on the reader’s curiosity throughout. For those who savor auditory experiences, the audiobook version might offer an enhanced enjoyment of this intricate narrative.
In conclusion, “The Vacancy in Room 10” is a compelling read that captivates with its suspenseful storyline and detailed character exploration. Despite a slow start, it ultimately rewards the reader with a rich and engaging experience. I heartily recommend this book upon its release for those who enjoy a thrilling blend of mystery and drama.

Tense, suspenseful, maddening!! I simultaneously wanted to both devour this book in one sitting and throw it across the room the entire time. Glass is great at making you get ANGRY. She doesn’t discriminate while building her characters, giving both protagonist and antagonist distinct, robust personalities and character-compromising flaws. The dialogue is masterful and realistic, and the narrative flowed easily, making it unputdownable. The well-executed and interwoven nature of the characters and plot brought the book to a surprising end, making this whodunnit a solid 4 stars
