This was a new author for me and she has definitely made my list to keep an eye out for. This book is one you wont want to put down!
The Vacancy in room 10 has 2 main characters, Cass and Anna. Cass is basically starting over after her cheating, rich boyfriend kicked her out of their home. Now Cass is the handy ma'am at The Sycamores, trading repairs for rent and fighting to make ends meet while starting over.
Anna is a new widow that is unraveling the hidden secrets her husband kept in one of the rooms at the motel. She is struggling to attempt to put together his last months and explain his death.
The lives of the residents of the Sycamores do collide over a series of events that allows us to get to know all the residents and some of theor secrets.
Both of these main characters are relatable, realistically flawed and easy to connect with.
You cannot comment on the book without commenting on how much i love the secondary characters as well. From the pool girls, Barry and Rosa. It adds so much depth to the book.
The story is suspenseful, mysterious and keeps you guessing. You will find yourself thinking you may know where it is going but then, it takes a turn.
I highly recomme d the Vacancy in room 10 by Seraphine Nova Glass. You wont regret the read.
Thank you to NetGalley, Seraphina Nova Glass and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’m calling it right now, this is going to be the thriller of 2024. I had high hopes based on the author’s other book “On a Quiet Street” that I loved so much, and I wasn’t disappointed. I was sucked in from the beginning and caught myself reading any spare minute I had. It was such a unique storyline and unlike anything else I’ve read. There’s a sketchy apartment complex, a man who committed suicide, the cartel, a widow looking for answers, a lone woman, and a teacher that all come together for this deliciously addicting novel. Trust me, all these components just work! The main two female leads are extremely likable, and all of the characters just melded so well together. I cannot urge you enough to read this book, and I promise the hype is real!

From the very beginning, I knew this was going to be a 5⭐️ read. The author's unique method of storytelling was so lifelike. The character development was unlike anything I've read before and was absolutely superb! I absolutely loved the character, Cass! Her personality was so relatable and just a joy to read her narrative. While this is a thriller, there were many parts where I literally laughed out loud because the descriptions of the people/places were just so enjoyable and well depicted. Even when nothing heart-racing was happening (which trust me, there were plenty of pulse pounding parts of this book), I was so invested in the characters and getting to know more about their lives that there truly were no dull moments throughout the entire book. In fact, it was so hard to put this one down. I read over 50% of the book in one sitting! Nothing was predictable about this book. It left me guessing until the very end, which is the true testament of a great thriller.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Guaranteed to be one of the most popular reads in 2024! A MUST HAVE on every TBR list!

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read this digital ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Vacancy in Room 10 was a happy surprise and one of my favorite reads in 2023. Glass's descriptions of the run down motel, The Sycamores, and its occupants is spot on and places the reader amidst the screaming kids, pool matrons and shady drug dealing dads.
Vacancy centers around two main characters, Cass and Anna, both suffering through their personal hell. Cass's cheating, rich boyfriend kicked her out of their lavish home after she discovered his younger mistress. Now Cass is the handy ma'am at The Sycamores, trading repairs for rent.
Anna's husband kept his art studio in one of the rooms at the motel. A frantic phone call leads to his apparent suicide. Anna now lives in his studio, trying to piece together her hubby's mysterious death.
Cass and Anna's lives collide when overlapping murder and coverups lead to one wild plot twist after another.
Book a room at Seraphina Nova Glass's fleabag motel. There's a vacancy just waiting to put a thrill-packed read in your library.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for an ARC copy of The Vacancy in Room 10.

When I say I was hooked from the first chapter, I mean it! I could not put it down!! This was such a twisty story with super relatable characters and had a nice mix of humor (which is hard to do well in a thriller). I snorted a few times reading about the wacky residents of the Sycamore apartments.

I gave this author's previous book On A Quiet Street 5 stars and I definitely enjoyed this one more! Seraphina Nova Glass has officially joined my "auto-read" list of authors!!

This book delivers right from page one, and doesn't stop until the last page: I did not want to put this one down! Full of flawed characters and suspense throughout, this book is sure to be a huge contender for book of the year in 2024. I could easily see this book turned into movie, as it definitely read like one. Seraphina Nova Glass has a way of making her characters so believable, that you can even picture the actors who could play them. This was a quick, fun read, that kept me on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend!

4.5 ⭐️ This unique style thriller had me at the edge of my seat. It was a quick read that I didn’t want to put down. The characters were well developed and felt relatable while reading. The story was told from two POV’s and it kept me engaged. The twists and suspense kept me guessing until the very end and the ending was perfect.
*Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. This comes out in April 2024 and I highly recommend

I’m a sucker for multiple POV’s so luckily this book alternates between the POV’s of both Cass + Anna. All the characters are very well developed & all around just fantastic! They definitely made for a great read 👏🏼

I hit my goal of reading 150 books this year with this wonderful one. Thanks @netgalley and @harlequinbooks for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Wow! I wasn’t expecting the twists either. @seraphinanovaglass, you are one terrific author. Check this book out when it’s released in April 2024. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 read for me. #avivaandfriendsrecos

I have previously read all books written by Seraphina Nova Glass so when I noticed this on Netgalley, I jumped at the opportunity to read it. I don't typically enjoy domestic thrillers as they can get repetitive. However, Seraphina Nova Glass is truly a master in the genre. Her characters are always interesting, flawed, and relatable. I truly loved reading about Cass in this novel and would be interested if she had another novel about her. The plot in this book was fresh and kept me reading well past bedtime. I highly recommend this book. Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and Seraphina Nova Glass for allowing me to read this ARC.

Wow wow wow! I promise no spoilers! But this book was amazing. I loved the characters at the apartments. You really can picture them with how awesome the author is with character development and her descriptions of the people. I was on the edge of my seat the entire read! The ending…🫣😳🤯

I will for sure be reading more from this author! Thank you for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this book!

All in all I liked this book. It wasn’t a page turner for me and a bit of a slow burn but I liked it and glad I read it!

4 stars
Wow! This was my first book by Glass but definitely not my last. This had everything I love about thrillers. Short chapters, multi pov, twists, super fast paced, and so much more.
I literally could not put this one down. Read it in a single sitting. I hope the rest of her books are similar.

Sometimes I wish I had a tail to wiggle when I got excited.

That’s bizarre, right?

Well if I DID have a tail it would be wagging right now.

I went on a book binge for the past week and would put one book down and pick up the next without even so much as a pee break .

I was lost in the pages and I couldn’t not quench my insatiable lust for more and more thrillers. Deep down, subconsciously, I was searching for a book that would make me stop dead in my tracks.

Mission accomplished

The Vacancy in Room 10

Seraphina Nova Glass, is the queen when it comes to delivering 5 star books and this book literally broke the 5 star scale.

Mesmerized by the cover, this was a book I just had to have. I wish I could whisper a warning in my naive little ear before I picked this one up as my day became completely consumed by Glass’ words. Yes, this book is THAT good.

My mind is blown…

I will be unable to pick up another book for a bit. I need to let this one settle in.

Here’s a bit of a teaser for you :

When Anna’s husband calls and confesses to killing someone, followed by his body washing up on the banks of the Rio Grande, it’s up to her to piece together what really happened. After moving into the run-down motel-room-turned-apartment he rented as an art studio, Anna spends her days getting closer to the neighbors and absorbing every bit of gossip about her husband and the buildings’ tenants. But the more she learns, the less sense things seem to make. And when threatening letters start appearing at her door, Anna has to decide what’s more important—the truth, or her own safety.

Cass has been running the Sycamores, an apartment complex that has seen better decades. Barely scraping by as a superintendent, Cass starts blackmailing sleazy men, threatening to expose them and ruin their lives. It’s easy, and it works, and nobody gets hurt—until she tries it on the wrong guy. With everything to lose and no one to trust, Cass has to fight to keep her secrets under wraps, especially with Anna snooping around asking questions…

Loved how it ended...perfectly done.

I recently read my very first @seraphinanovaglass novel, THE VANISHING HOUR, and I loved it so much that I immediately went in search of her backlist and found two that I knew I wanted to start right away. So I did something I’ve never done before, I read two books by the same author at the same time – one print and one audio.

This one was my Kindle ARC read while SOMEONE’S LISTENING was the one I read on audio. I loved both. But let’s talk about THE VACANCY IN ROOM 10.

What I Loved 🌿

✨The motel setting. It was very Schitt’s Creek in all its rundown, shabby glory.
✨The lovable and quirky cast of characters who were downtrodden in some ways but winning at life in other, more important ways. And while I found them endearing, I didn’t trust any of them. Not one.
✨The two feisty and strong female main characters.
✨The fast pace with all the best twists and turns.
✨The action-packed plot and dual narrative.

This crime novel/collection of broken people turned found family drew me in and didn’t let go until the very last page. This will be a big hit, so don’t miss it.

My thanks to @graydonhousebooks, @htpbooks and @netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book before its publication date.

What a fun and fast paced thriller! Seraphina Nova Glass doesn’t miss, and with this story, you will get whiplash but the dual POVs (in the best way). I didn’t want to put it down!

I do not think this one was for me. It was way too much of a domestic thriller for me. I loved Nova Glass' last book, but this one left me wanting more.

The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass is my favorite book by her yet. It’s not just a straight thriller, it also had elements of family drama in it. I was really surprised a few times throughout reading. What really stood out to me were the different narratives. Each one propelled the story forward in such thrilling way. I was reading so fast to try to find out what was going to happen. If you’re in a slump, this is a good way to get out of it.
