I have previously read all books written by Seraphina Nova Glass so when I noticed this on Netgalley, I jumped at the opportunity to read it. I don't typically enjoy domestic thrillers as they can get repetitive. However, Seraphina Nova Glass is truly a master in the genre. Her characters are always interesting, flawed, and relatable. I truly loved reading about Cass in this novel and would be interested if she had another novel about her. The plot in this book was fresh and kept me reading well past bedtime. I highly recommend this book. Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and Seraphina Nova Glass for allowing me to read this ARC.

Wow wow wow! I promise no spoilers! But this book was amazing. I loved the characters at the apartments. You really can picture them with how awesome the author is with character development and her descriptions of the people. I was on the edge of my seat the entire read! The ending…🫣😳🤯
I will for sure be reading more from this author! Thank you for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this book!

All in all I liked this book. It wasn’t a page turner for me and a bit of a slow burn but I liked it and glad I read it!

4 stars
Wow! This was my first book by Glass but definitely not my last. This had everything I love about thrillers. Short chapters, multi pov, twists, super fast paced, and so much more.
I literally could not put this one down. Read it in a single sitting. I hope the rest of her books are similar.

Sometimes I wish I had a tail to wiggle when I got excited.
That’s bizarre, right?
Well if I DID have a tail it would be wagging right now.
I went on a book binge for the past week and would put one book down and pick up the next without even so much as a pee break .
I was lost in the pages and I couldn’t not quench my insatiable lust for more and more thrillers. Deep down, subconsciously, I was searching for a book that would make me stop dead in my tracks.
Mission accomplished
The Vacancy in Room 10
Seraphina Nova Glass, is the queen when it comes to delivering 5 star books and this book literally broke the 5 star scale.
Mesmerized by the cover, this was a book I just had to have. I wish I could whisper a warning in my naive little ear before I picked this one up as my day became completely consumed by Glass’ words. Yes, this book is THAT good.
My mind is blown…
I will be unable to pick up another book for a bit. I need to let this one settle in.
Here’s a bit of a teaser for you :
When Anna’s husband calls and confesses to killing someone, followed by his body washing up on the banks of the Rio Grande, it’s up to her to piece together what really happened. After moving into the run-down motel-room-turned-apartment he rented as an art studio, Anna spends her days getting closer to the neighbors and absorbing every bit of gossip about her husband and the buildings’ tenants. But the more she learns, the less sense things seem to make. And when threatening letters start appearing at her door, Anna has to decide what’s more important—the truth, or her own safety.
Cass has been running the Sycamores, an apartment complex that has seen better decades. Barely scraping by as a superintendent, Cass starts blackmailing sleazy men, threatening to expose them and ruin their lives. It’s easy, and it works, and nobody gets hurt—until she tries it on the wrong guy. With everything to lose and no one to trust, Cass has to fight to keep her secrets under wraps, especially with Anna snooping around asking questions…

Definitely a page turner. The characters are so well written and likeable that it brings you into their lives and the crazyness going on.
Loved how it ended...perfectly done.
Thanks to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an early release of this book.

I recently read my very first @seraphinanovaglass novel, THE VANISHING HOUR, and I loved it so much that I immediately went in search of her backlist and found two that I knew I wanted to start right away. So I did something I’ve never done before, I read two books by the same author at the same time – one print and one audio.
This one was my Kindle ARC read while SOMEONE’S LISTENING was the one I read on audio. I loved both. But let’s talk about THE VACANCY IN ROOM 10.
What I Loved 🌿
✨The motel setting. It was very Schitt’s Creek in all its rundown, shabby glory.
✨The lovable and quirky cast of characters who were downtrodden in some ways but winning at life in other, more important ways. And while I found them endearing, I didn’t trust any of them. Not one.
✨The two feisty and strong female main characters.
✨The fast pace with all the best twists and turns.
✨The action-packed plot and dual narrative.
This crime novel/collection of broken people turned found family drew me in and didn’t let go until the very last page. This will be a big hit, so don’t miss it.
My thanks to @graydonhousebooks, @htpbooks and @netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book before its publication date.

What a fun and fast paced thriller! Seraphina Nova Glass doesn’t miss, and with this story, you will get whiplash but the dual POVs (in the best way). I didn’t want to put it down!

I do not think this one was for me. It was way too much of a domestic thriller for me. I loved Nova Glass' last book, but this one left me wanting more.

The Vacancy in Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass is my favorite book by her yet. It’s not just a straight thriller, it also had elements of family drama in it. I was really surprised a few times throughout reading. What really stood out to me were the different narratives. Each one propelled the story forward in such thrilling way. I was reading so fast to try to find out what was going to happen. If you’re in a slump, this is a good way to get out of it.

action-packed right from the start. this book did not have a single dull moment and kept me on my toes the entire read! every character had such an interesting backstory and it took me forever to try and figure out who the bad guy could be. even after i had an idea of who it was, i still couldn't figure out why! will be recommending this book to everyone when it releases!

Genuinely solid, with a touch of girl-power at points, which is nice. Further, the alternating perspectives occasionally presented almost as a choreographed dance, which I low-key super love.

Anna is living in a scuzzy hotel room her husband used as an art studio following his suspicious death. Shortly before his body was found washed up a beach, he had confessed to her that he was a murderer. Anna doesn’t believe it and she makes it her mission to uncover the truth, even as someone else is working to keep their secret. She teams up with an unlikely heroine, the superintendent of the hotel, she’s been living in. A very enjoyable, female centric, thriller.

Anna answers the phone one evening to hear her husband in a panic admitting that he killed someone which is followed by a loud noise and the phone hanging up. A few hours later his body is found on the banks of the Rio Grande and deemed to be a suicide. It doesn't make sense to Anna so she decides to move into his art studio at a run down motel turned apartment building to investigate what really happened.
Cass has been kicked out of her boyfriend's fancy house and is left with nothing. She is living in this same run down apartment complex as a handy "ma'am" in exchange for free living. When she's not spending her days chasing mice or unclogging drains, she blackmails men for a small amount of money. Until one day she blackmails the wrong man and things go really awry.
I could not put this book down! I stayed up well into the middle of the night to finish it. The setting was amazing. I really enjoyed all of the side characters who were living at the motel-apartment. Their personalities really shone through the pages and they were written in a very candid way. This was probably one of my favorite parts of the book. The friendships that Cass developed with her neighbors made me want to have friends like that too. Not to mention the amount of suspense and twists. There were so many good twists! The author's sense of humor is apparent when reading this and adds a nice touch to the suspense. At times things are far fetched, but that is part of why the book was so good, because it just made me chuckle. Definitely a 5 star read for me and I highly recommend picking this one up!
Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, Graydon House for a digital ARC.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This was an edge of your seat thriller for sure! What I loved:
• short chapters
• alternating points of view
• found family
• fast-paced plot
• clever setting
• incredibly strong female characters
• “Sinatra” - so adorable
All of my thriller lovers need to check this one out for sure! 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝟏𝟎 publishes 4/9/23 and I have a feeling you’re going to be seeing a lot of it before then!

Wow, wow, wow!
This thriller captivated me from the beginning and held my attention throughout. The plot unfolds with a startling phone call to Anna from her husband, who confesses to a crime before his sudden death. Intrigued by his secretive life at 'The Sycamores' motel, Anna moves into his apartment there, driven to understand his last days and his connections with the residents.
Parallel to Anna's story is that of Cass, a resident of the same motel. Cass's life spirals downwards after parting ways with her affluent boyfriend. She juggles motel repairs and a desperate search for a new job. Her decision to blackmail men visiting the motel for affairs spirals into dangerous territory, adding to the novel's suspense.
I really loved the parallel unfolding of events, I feel it works a lot better than the past/[present technique, and it really makes you feel like you are part of the whole action!
The motel's depiction is vivid, almost cinematic, and the characters are intricately developed. I really liked Cass and Anna, both were flawed and made mistakes, but everything unraveled in the best possible way to allow them to grow and give us a satisfactory conclusion. Usually, I hate endings, because they seem rushed, but the ending in this book was well written and it tied EVERYTHING smoothly.
The fast-paced narrative, filled with twists and turns, makes the book a page-turner. Seraphina Nova Glass's writing is immersive and thrilling, making me eager to explore her other works. For those who relish intense and original thrillers, this book is a must-read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One evening, Anna receives a phone call from her husband. On that call, he tells her that he's sorry for killing someone. The next day, his body is found on the banks of the Rio Grande River. Anna packs up and moves into the motel-room-turned-apartment that her husband was using as his art studio. There, she's determined to find out what was going on with her husband. Cass is the superintendent of the Sycamores. She barely makes enough money to live, so she blackmails lewd men and threatens to expose them. One day, Cass tries to blackmail a man, and things don't go the way she planned. Can Cass keep her secrets with Anna looking around and asking all kinds of questions?
The Vacancy In Room 10 is an addictive, fast-paced thrill ride that will keep your pulse racing and your head spinning. This story is told in the dual POVs of Cass and Anna. Each character and their storyline is well developed and captivating. This story had me hooked from the beginning. I finished it in one day because it was an incredible, addictive read. The setting of the Sycamores and the eclectic tenents that lived there add so much depth, character, and humor to this story. I have to admit, this is the first time a thriller has almost brought me to tears. I absolutely loved Seraphina's message about found family that she included in here. It's one of my favorite tropes to read, and it resounded so loudly for me while I was reading this book. I haven't read any other books by this author, but all of her other books have now been added to my TBR list.

I absolutely LOVED the last two books of Seraphina Nova Glass that I read, The Vanishing Hour and On A Quiet Street so I jumped at the chance to read The Vacancy in Room 10.
There’s something about settings like motels (or in this case, turned into apartments) that I just love. Getting to know all the residents and their secrets always makes for my favorite kind of book.
I enjoyed The Vacancy in Room 10 but it didn’t blow me away either like her last two books did. It was a pretty standard run of the mill domestic suspense book. It was fun and I did enjoy it but I wanted more from the mystery. That being said, I will still continue to read ANYTHING Seraphina writes!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for my ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This is a fast paced thriller.
Anna's husband calls her from his art studio in a run down motel/apartment and confesses to murder. Before she can really absorb this his body washed up on the shore -- an apparent drowning.
Anna doesn't believe that and has to learn the truth of what happened for herself, so off to the motel she goes. She questions the other residents there in an effort to uncover clues.
Cass is the manager of the complex and is barely scraping by. When she sees a chance to blackmail what she considers to be sleazy men she does. Until she chooses the wrong man.
Cass has to keep Anna from discovering her secrets and the closer she gets, the more dangerous Cass grows.
