I couldn't put this book down. Loved all the twists. This book had everything I enjoy--mystery, funny scenes and characters, unique setting, and an engaging plot. Plus, a community who bonds and is loyal. So much to love about this one. I will be reading more from this author.

The Vacancy in room 10 is a wild ride with twists and turns me obsessed. I didn’t want to put it down,as I wanted to know more and more about these two women’s lives and how they could be connected! I think my favorite part is the pool ladies and their love for each other! It’s fun getting a thrill ride but also lovable characters that add so much more to the story! It’s one of those books where you sit down, then look up and realize you’ve been reading for hours. You were so lost in their world!

Wow! This book had everything I look for in a thriller. It was suspenseful and kept me guessing throughout. When I thought I had things figured out, the author threw in another red herring to keep me second guessing myself.

I adored the setting of The Sycamores, a rundown motel turned into apartments, and the full cast of characters living there. They were all so eccentric, and each of them was a suspect in my mind at one time or another. The dual perspectives of Anna and Cass were perfect for this story, and I found both of these characters relatable, and actually likable, in their own way. I want more books with these characters!

I was able to put some things together, but not everything. The things I did figure out didn’t stop me from loving this one! This was my first Seraphina Nova Glass read, but it definitely won’t be my last. All my thriller loving friends will want to get their hands on this one when it releases on April 9, 2024!

Cass has moved to the Sycamore's when her relationship with her boyfriend ends. She is the handma'am in exchange for lower rent. She still struggles to make ends meet and begins blackmailing men to "make" extra cash.

review
This book has three main characters: Anna, Cass, and Rosa. They are all very different women but are intrigual in eachothers lives without knowing it. By the end, they will be friends for a lifetime. They make sure certain men get what they deserve.

This book was really great! You know me always going in blind and I skimmed the synopsis, and that was enough for me to know I needed to read this one. There are no loose ends! It was a thriller with a happy ending.  What more can you ask for in a book? My friends, the answer is nothing!

Read this Book If:
🏠You want a thriller that will keep you guessing
🏠You want an ending with NO cliffhangers

Thank you @graydonhouse and @thrillerbookloverspromotions for an exclusive #advancedreaderscopy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was recently exposed to Seraphina Nova Glass earlier this year when I read “The Vanishing Hour”, so when I saw this opportunity to read this one super early, I jumped on it. It did not disappoint at all!!

This book was old in the third person from the alternating POV’s of Cass- the apartment manager/handy “ma’am” who recently lost everything when her BF left her for a younger woman—and Anna, who moved to The Sycamores to find answers to her why her husband sudden suicide. I really loved these characters. Even though they were VERY different, they were also very similar and had much more in common than they would have thought. They were very relatable and I felt like Seraphina Nova Glass really put a lot of emphasis on how strong women can be when faced with a crisis, even if they are hurting. I also really loved the sense of community she portrayed with all the tenants of The Sycamores (especially the pool girls- loved them)

I loved the story so much and I swear I thought I had it all figured out but nope—so shocked and amazed! If you love super twisty, domestic thrillers with strong, BADASS female characters, check this one out!!!

TRIGGERS: suicide, death of a loved one, murder, death by illness, abuse, drugs.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟+ /5 Stars

This book has officially taken the top seat as my all time favorite thriller!! Seraphina Glass really knocked it out of the park with this book! It’s SO good!

The story takes place at The Sycamores, a sketchy run-down motel turned long-term lease apartments and it is the perfect backdrop for all of the seedy residents. The residents are both hilarious and secretive, which leaves you wondering who you can actually trust. The alternating POV’s between Cass and Anna will suck you in and keep you glued to your seat to see what unfolds next. And the ending was perfect for this story!

If you love a good, fast passed thriller, this book will quickly become your favorite! It will now be my most recommended book! Add it to your TBR and mark your calendars to grab this one on pub day! You won’t regret it!

When Anna’s husband calls and confesses to killing someone, followed by his body washing up on the banks of the Rio Grande, it’s up to her to piece together what really happened. After moving into the run-down motel-room-turned-apartment he rented as an art studio, Anna spends her days getting closer to the neighbors and absorbing every bit of gossip about her husband and the buildings’ tenants. But the more she learns, the less sense things seem to make. And when threatening letters start appearing at her door, Anna has to decide what’s more important—the truth, or her own safety.

Cass has been running the Sycamores, an apartment complex that has seen better decades. Barely scraping by as a superintendent, Cass starts blackmailing sleazy men, threatening to expose them and ruin their lives. It’s easy, and it works, and nobody gets hurt—until she tries it on the wrong guy. With everything to lose and no one to trust, Cass has to fight to keep her secrets under wraps, especially with Anna snooping around asking questions…

Guys add this thriller to you #TBR. I was addicted to this twisty thriller and it was one wild ride. Multiple characters. Multiple POV. Cass and Rosa were bad ass women. They were most definitely my favorite characters in the book. The author used a run down motel turned apartment complex as the main setting for the book. Every time she describes the “pool girls” out by the pool drinking their high lifes and playing cards I wanted to join them! Definitely a top thriller read for me this year.

Wow!! I don’t even know where to begin with this one! I have read books by Seraphina before and absolutely loved this one so I knew as soon as Tonya posted about it that I wanted to be on this tour! This book grabs your attention from the very first page and I absolutely LOVED the start of it! There were a few parts in the middle that slowed down for me, but I was soooo invested in the storyline and figuring out what was going to happen and what had happened that I just had to keep going! There was so much suspense and mystery in this novel that just keeps the reader wanting more and there were so many times that I didn’t want to put the book down because I just needed to finish it (but alas toddlers don’t always want to wait for you to finish a chapter or a book LOL). Overall, this is definitely one that I would recommend!

Oh goodness this book was so freaking good! I loved the alternating character chapters. I absolutely LOVED the depth and layers of every character! I became so invested in each of their stories! I couldn’t get enough of how many wtf moments there were! Oh my gosh and that explosive ending sent me reeling and I can’t stop thinking about it! By far one of the best books I’ve ever read much less just this year! 10 billion stars!

I know I just finished this but I cannot wait for it to come out so I can add to my "top reads" shelf. Glass does an incredible job of keeping the reader guessing. The way she ends each chapter is like a mini cliffhanger. I loved it. I know this will be a top thriller for next year, so add it to your goodreads and go pre-order,you will not be disappointed.

What I liked about this book is that the story is original . Two woman who happen to cross paths at a motel turned into an apartment complex. They are both heartbroken for different reasons and one had a secret to keep while the other has a mystery to solve and they may or may not overlap . I enjoyed both POVs but felt the story was a little slow paced for my liking at times

Picture this: your artist husband calls you, weirdly confesses to killing someone, and then turns up dead in a river. He’s been renting a room at a sketchy AF, rundown, long-term rental motel to use as a studio space, so you move in temporarily to try to find out what happened. You mingle with the other tenants to pick up gossip — including Cass, who’s recently been kicked out of her house by her cheating long-term boyfriend and is working as the motel maintenance person (and extorting shitty dudes for money) … and then you start getting threatening letters and things get extra crazy.

I loved this — never a boring moment, with a great cast of eclectic, funny, interesting characters (omg the POOL GIRLS!), and so many twists and turns and surprises — I truly had no idea what was going to happen, which is a real feat when I’m reading a thriller!

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fast-paced, exciting thriller with a little side of snark.

I loved how this book constantly had something going on without becoming overcomplicated. It’s certainly the twisty domestic thriller I was hoping for, but so much more. The characters felt so real and so likable, I loved the plot and the twists and the end was everything. I finished this in one night. I can’t wait to read more from Seraphina Nova Glass. Many thanks to the author, Graydon House and Thriller Book Lover Promos for my eARC. The Vacancy in Room 10 will be published April 9th. I’ll be sure to remind you! 🖤

The Vacancy In Room 10 by Seraphina Nova Glass is a thriller set around an apartment and a murder. The plot revolves between two characters, Cass and Anna. Their lives are totally different from each other but get entangled due to fate. Although it was dual POV which makes the plot a bit easy to understand but too many things are going on with the characters at the same time. There are drops of mystery to maintain readers interest after every few pages. But, the most abundant thing in the plot is what the character thinks inside its head. So, the story gets a little bit lengthy to finish. The book is worth a one time read if you like slow plot and average characters. The book keeps your mind invested to reach the climax. For me the book deserves 4 stars. Thanks to the author for providing me with an opportunity to read and review the book.

Well JIMINEY McCRICKETS!!!! I’m laying it out there - favourite book of 2023. Hands down! 🤩🤩

This book was a whole helluva WTAF is going on 🫨🫨 Like zero clue!!! Seraphina is a literary wizard in suspense and mystery, and she had me dangling from the very beginning 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♀️

The setting was superb - she writes so descriptively - I felt I was there, at this run down motel 🏨 surrounded by the motley crew that had gravitated there. The pace of the book was fantastic and when that last third came in… whoosh!!! The plot was expertly weaved together. 👌👌

However, it’s the characters where Seraphina’s true strength lies (and for me, is ultimately what seals my investment as a reader). They are exquisitely written - Cass is a LEGEND!! ✊Every single character was worthy of a place in this book. Some I loved, some I wanted to slap 🙄, but each one (no matter how often they appeared) were solid characters. The dialogue, the expressions, everything about them so masterfully done! 🖤🖤

Another legend is Tonya at Thriller Book Lovers Promotions for offering me the opportunity to be part of this exclusive book tour and a huge thank you to Seraphina Nova Glass and Graydon House Books for the early e-arc 🙏🏻

Preorder this one now - FOMO is going to be aaaaaall over this in 2024 🤩🤩

This author can always be counted on to deliver a twisty domestic thriller, but believe me when I say that Glass has truly outdone herself with The Vacancy in Room 10! This atmospheric thriller was impossible to put down. Cass’s POV is a pulse-pounding thrill fest from the beginning and it balances well with Anna’s story, which builds slowly and plays with your emotions. The Sycamores and its residents jump to life right off the page and create the perfect backdrop for these two engrossing storylines to interconnect. My mind is always blown when everything connects perfectly at the end. Glass is an expert at this! When this comes out in April, make sure to clear your schedule because you won’t want to stop reading.

The Vacancy In Room 10 is a riveting mystery about two women who are down on their luck and find themselves living in an inexpensive apartment complex that was formerly a motel.

Cass is the handywoman of the complex and recently ousted from her posh life when her boyfriend dumps her for a much younger woman.

Anna has just lost her husband to suicide after a disturbing final phone call. She moves to the Sycamores complex, where he spent a lot of time working on his paintings. She's trying to understand how things went so terribly wrong.

They each end up uncovering more and more nefarious activity in the Sycamores. The setting is incredibly vivid in its bleakness. The cast of residents was very well drawn. I had such a clear image of each person.

The plot is very well paced and kept me guessing. The last quarter of the book was so good! I was glued to my Kindle to find out what would happen and how Cass and Anna's lives intersected. Add this one to your TBR!

I’m going to predict that this will be one of the best thrillers of 2024. This book had my jaw dropping the whole time. I did not see the plot twists coming at all. I loved both Cass’s character & the pool girls. The writing was so amazing-I could picture every single thing that was happening. This was my first book by this author & I have already bought & wishlisted the rest of her books. BRAVO! & thank you so much for the ARC!

4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5) Anna’s husband calls in a panic, confessing to killing someone. Next she knows, his body is found. This starts a whirlwind of emotions for Anna with wondering suicide, keeping his secret of killing someone and then losing her house and needing to find a job.

It turns out, the job she finds is the best that could have happened to her, she just can’t see that yet. She’s a “handy ma’am” (in her words) at a run-down apartment complex that has the most eclectic modge podge of people she’s ever seen. It’s dirty, it’s smelly and hardly anything works. She feels she has definitely hit bottom.

As the story continues, the other characters really start to take the limelight. They seemed to be background people, but the more you read, the more you realize how they are becoming an integral part of the story.

I don’t want to give the ending away, but the twists had me shocked, the broken facades had me gasping, the group of loyal women made my heart happy and the mystery came to an end with a boom. Fabulous! My favorite part (after all the mystery and drama) are the women and the choices that Anna makes even after the mystery is over.

Fabulous writing with very calculated details, I loved it!
