I am again grateful to get a really early look at this one. While it isn’t out until April 9, 2024, you can preorder it now. https://tinyurl.com/ms2zprxs
This is probably the highest praise I can give a thriller. I did not see that coming in any shape or form. 🤯
Cass and Anna are both down on their luck and for different reasons are living in a motel turned apartment complex. I am not sure I really connected to either of the Mcs but the ease of the authors writing style and the mysteries she created had me wanting more.
I had a short turnaround time for this one and that was OK because once I started it, I didn’t want to put it down.
If you love a good mystery/psychological thriller then this needs to be on your radar. Again all the things I conjured up as I read this one, none were even close to what happens.
This book was a lot of fun to read. Sure it was a slow burn, but everything seemed to so interesting that the pace didn't affect my feelings towards this story. I have never read a Glass book until now so while reading I listened to another one ( will review later) and it was also so good. And a good way to get to know an author you are interested in.
Bravo 👏 I enjoyed a slow burn.
Review in return for free advanced copy.
This is my third book by Seraphina Nova Glass and my third time absolutely loving what I read! She’s a master at weaving together people and plot lines that, at first, I can’t figure out how they relate to each other. Eventually it all comes together in the most satisfying way and this was no exception! I loved the cast of characters that eventually became family to Cass and even though you don't truly get to know the details about their lives and how they ended up at the sycamores, you get a true vibe that they're good people. The star for this was how the lives of Anna and Cass were connected, I loved it and didn't see it coming!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for my e-ARC of The Vacancy in Room 10!

When Anna’s husband calls and confesses to killing someone, followed by his body washing up on the banks of the Rio Grande, it’s up to her to piece together what really happened. After moving into the run-down motel-room-turned-apartment he rented as an art studio, Anna spends her days getting closer to the neighbors and absorbing every bit of gossip about her husband and the buildings’ tenants. But the more she learns, the less sense things seem to make. And when threatening letters start appearing at her door, Anna has to decide what’s more important—the truth, or her own safety.
Cass has been running the Sycamores, an apartment complex that has seen better decades. Barely scraping by as a superintendent, Cass starts blackmailing sleazy men, threatening to expose them and ruin their lives. It’s easy, and it works, and nobody gets hurt—until she tries it on the wrong guy. With everything to lose and no one to trust, Cass has to fight to keep her secrets under wraps, especially with Anna snooping around asking questions…

I went into this one completely blind, and I’m so happy I did! I really enjoyed the story without fully knowing what was going to happen. When a ton of characters started being introduced to us, I could only wonder how and why they were connected to each other, and honestly, the story took turns and had twists that I really never expected to happen! I 100% recommend going into this one blind because it’s a crazy ride that is just so much better that way! I really enjoyed both Cass and Anna’s POVs and felt they both added a lot to the storyline. I also loved the fact that both women found their happily ever afters! Preorder your copy today!
The characters in this story are SO good! I really enjoyed both POV’s and the author’s writing. I like the way the twists played out and how the ending came together.
What a wild ride, in the best possible way. I really was hooked from the beginning couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I loved the alternating POV and the community the residents of The Sycamores established for themselves. I’ve got to say, @seraphinanovaglass knocked this one out of the park!
Holy cheese muffins! This story makes me speechless, it is unlike anything I've read before. Seraphina once again creates unique storylines with characters that are well developed and intriguing. I have something in common with one of the main characters but won't say what it is due to this being a very very early copy and do not want to ruin it for future readers. Thank you to Tonya Cornish, Seraphina Nova Glass, Graydon House and Thriller Book Lovers Promotions for the highest honor or reading and reviewing This delicious thriller many months in advance. Bravo, Bravo! Seraphina, you easily show me with your words why you continue to be one of my favorite authors of all time.
I've been a longtime Seraphina Nova Glass fan, but I was still blown away by all that is The Vacancy in Room 10. It;s a continuous, non-stop thrill ride where someone is the villain, but I bet you won’t guess who. I love this one, and, if I could give it more five stars, I would. Not only does the pacing make it one-sitting bingeable, but the characters are realistic, believable, and could likely be my next door neighbors. I loved the locked-room-ish setting of the Sycamore, the community of it (the pool girls were my absolute fav), and the anywhere USA vibe. It's perfect, from the very first to the very last sentence.
This book has it all! I couldn’t get enough of this storyline and didn’t want it to end! Not only is it a truly unique mystery thriller but also a family drama. Reading about the lives of the residents at the Sycamores, roadside motel turned apartment complex, it felt like a Melrose Place/Schitt’s Creek mashup! From the gossipy pool ladies to the sword collector to the abusive truck driver l, your mind will be in overdrive trying to find connections.
Cass was living a comfortable life with her long-term boyfriend while enjoying social events in her designer clothes until one day she was trapping mice at a run down apartment complex called the Sycamores. A handy “ma’am” by trade, she earned her keep by becoming the superintendent of the complex. She got to know the residents and was soon a member of the community and also learned to file away dirt on the residents for potential future use.
Anna is married to Henry, who rents a room for his art studio at The Sycamores. She received a call from him in tears apologizing for ruining everything and confesses to killing someone and then she hears a crash. Henry’s body is found and Anna is told that he took his own life. This doesn’t sit well with her so she moves into his apartment to talk with the neighbors and to go through his things.
A wild chain of events unfold and I didn’t know who to trust! Cryptic messages and gifts are sent to residents, tenants disappear and someone is watching everyone! There are many endearing moments as well which gave this book an unexpected “cozy” feel amongst all the tragic moments. I had so many OMG moments that gave me such satisfaction! I love surprises and this book definitely will be a forever favorite of mine!
What an amazing, head spinning experience and roller coaster of a ride! I still have whiplash from this book! This was my first read by Seraphina and I guarantee it’s not the last! The way she is able to create a story told in multiple point of views is incredible. You instantly are drawn into the lives of the characters and are invested from the beginning. Hold on to your seat because you’re going to need it! Hands down one of my favorite reads this year and will be for others in 2024.
Told from the perspective of two women, Cass and Anna, living in the same rundown apartment complex, both left reeling from the ending of their relationships, The Vacancy in Room 10 is chocked full of suspense. An intriguing whodunnit emerges, forging connections between characters as they try to unravel the mystery. I connected with both women from the start and found myself captivated by the story. I highly recommend this one for fans of crime/domestic/mystery thrillers.
2024 hasn’t even started yet, but I’m telling you, “The Vacancy in Room 10” is going to be one of the best thrillers of 2024!
If you loved “On a Quiet Street” or “The Vanishing Hour”, you already know that Seraphina Nova Glass is amazing, but she has really outdone herself this time! I can’t rave enough about this book – twisty, atmospheric, intricately plotted, and absolutely bingeable! My book besties warned me not to start this one before bedtime, but did I listen? Of course not! But the book hangover the next morning was completely worth it!
Cass is down on her luck, living and working as the superintendent (aka handy ma’am, thank you very much!) at a seedy former motel-turned-apartment complex known as The Sycamores, and supplementing her income by blackmailing sleazy dudes. Anna moves into the complex after her husband’s death, determined to search the space he used as an art studio to understand his ominous last words. But no sooner has Anna moved in than the threatening notes and gifts start arriving, warning her away. When Cass blackmails the wrong guy, Anna’s snooping and sleuthing around could put both of them in peril.
There was nothing I didn’t love about this book! First, the setting. I could perfectly envision The Sycamores: the rundown building, the dated motel décor, the smoke and aroma of the Friday BBQs, and the pool ladies playing cards while their little ones swim and run around. Second, the characters. The characters were so fantastic and fully developed, not just the main ones like Cass and Anna, but also Cass’s ex-boyfriend and new girlfriend, the quirky neighbors and the pool ladies (seriously, I want to play cards with the pool ladies!). And of course, the plot! That plot… WOW! It’s twisty, it’s turny, it’s edge-of-your-seat suspenseful! Complex, crafty, with nonstop action and some hilarious laugh-out-loud moments, this book surprised me time and again!
Many thanks to NetGalley, Graydon House, and Thriller Book Lovers Promotions for inviting me to be a party of this exclusive early tour and for providing me an advance copy of this book.
When Alicia receives her a disturbing phone call from her husband, confessing that he has killed someone right before killing himself, she is distraught. Trying to piece together what happened, she moves into the rundown apartment he kept as an art studio. As she gets to know the neighbors who knew her husband, she becomes more and more unsettled by what she learns. Meanwhile, Cass, the “handy ma’am” of the apartment complex, is barely scraping by and begins to blackmail sleazy men to supplement her income. It’s a decent system, until she comes across the wrong guy. Now with a body to hide and no one to trust, Cass only hopes Alicia doesn’t uncover her secret.
Talk about a book you can't put down!! I was immediately drawn into the unconventional lives of Alicia and Cass and was wondering when (or if) their stories would come together. I loved the strong female leads, who each have their own reasons to be strong and not trust anyone, and how the side characters play a role too. Usually, I get nervous when there is a large cast of characters, but each one of these neighbors from the Sycamore apartments added a layer to the story. They each explained a different piece of the puzzle; whether it was Anna, the soft spoken mom, or the hilarious pool girls, each character was essential to how things played out. I was absolutely blown away at the twists in this story, which I did not see coming at all, and yet somehow, made perfect sense once they were revealed. “The Vacancy in Apartment 10” is NOT a book to be missed!
Thank you to Seraphina Nova Glass, Graydon House and Thriller Book Lovers for the ARC! “The Vacancy in Apartment 10” releases in 2024. This review will be shared to my instagram blog (@books_by_the_bottle) shortly.
The early reviews for The Vacancy in Room 10 are stellar and I’m here to tell you…
THE HYPE IS REAL!
This one is tough to put down and has just about every element I love in a good thriller. Murder, mystery, dual narrators, a protagonist down on her luck, a dose of romance, and some seriously questionable morals. I loved the strong female leads, the fact that Cass was a handyma’am (heck yeah!), and the bonds of the people at the Sycamores.
After loving two prior books by Glass, she quickly became an auto read author for me and Vacancy has certainly solidified that status!
The writing is excellent. I could see the kids splashing in the pool, the smoke rising from the grill as the burgers cooked, and feel the sweat from the beer cans. There were solid twists, parts that kept me guessing, and elements that completely surprised me.
This novel is unique, fast paced, and totally bingeable. If you’re looking for one you won’t want to put down, look no further!
Thank you to Thriller Book Lovers Promotions and Graydon House for the copy.

I can't tell you the last time I sat down with a 500 page book, and ATE THAT THING UP in a day. You guys... I think I found your favorite thriller of 2024!
The Vacancy in Room 10 will absolutely blow you away! I am not just saying that because I love the Author's previous work. She truly has perfected her craft. I loved the alternating POVs of Cass and Anna. I found both women to be very likeable. I loved the twists sprinkled throughout the book, making it positively impossible to put down. You don't have to wait until the end to piece everything together. It has a shocking, emotional ending that I found to be perfect. I loved everything about this book! The perfect thriller! I can't wait for you all to read it on April 9, 2024!
This is an amazing, addictive thriller about two women, Cass and Anna, whose lives collide when Anna’s husband is found dead and it all seems to be connected to a seedy apartment building, The Sycamores, where Cass works as the superintendent.
This is fast-paced, intense, full of non-stop twists and turns with two great, strong, feisty women as the leads and a wonderful cast of supporting characters who live at The Sycamores.
Everything worked with this novel: dual narratives, plot twists, action-packed plot, writing style that sucks you in, and an exciting thrilling ending. I inhaled this one in a day as I raced through the pages. What a gripping, wild ride!!
I predict that this one will be a big hit for @seraphinanovaglass when it releases on April 9/24. It deserves all the praise!
A huge thanks to @thrillerbookloverspromotions and @graydonhousebooks for early access to this novel! All opinions are my own.
Oh. My. God. I literally just put down The Vacancy in Room 10 and my mind is well and truly blown. A brilliant collage of broken individuals, the suspense and mystery drove this one all the way. But let me forewarn you, don’t start this one when you have plans you can’t cancel or chores that have to get done. After all, if you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself wide awake at 2 A.M. because you just couldn’t put the book down—not even for sleep. Not to mention the laundry I didn’t do and the dishes that are still dirty in my sink. Don’t judge me, you’ll see what I mean.
So why was this so utterly awe-inspiring in all of its unputdownable magic? Well, for starters the setting was pure perfection. A run down motel turn landing pad for the downtrodden, I could almost envision the blinking “vacancies” sign glowing neon. And just like Schitt’s Creek had me grinning with glee, this last chance saloon was exactly as you’d expect, but also oh so much more.
The truly shining star of this out-of-this-world novel, though? That would be the characters at the heart of the story. An entertaining collection of people living in relative squalor, you’d never know it from their own perspectives. Cunning, hilarious, endearing, and a boatload of fun, I’d love to be called one of their friends. At the same time, however, I had no clue who to trust. All put together, it was the perfect recipe for one epic thriller. But even better, I could easily see each of these candid personas all coming alive on the silver screen just like they did on the page. I, for one, am praying that happens as I’ll gladly be in the front row on opening day.
The plot wasn’t too shabby either (read sarcasm there). A complex, winding tale told via dual alternating POVs, I couldn’t, for the life of me, work out where this one was headed even once. Not to mention that the climax was pure gold and the conclusion left me smiling like a little kid. Did the whole plot feel slightly over-the-top and require some suspension of disbelief? Well, yes. But once I accepted that fact and buckled up, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better ride.
To be frank, I could rave about this one all day, but I’ll try and wind up my review. Already a gigantic fan of Seraphina Nova Glass, she’s merely cemented her name onto my auto-buy author list now. I mean, this twisty, twisty tale left me breathless by the end in all of its well-plotted glory. All I know is, if you enjoyed On a Quiet Street, you’re going to LOVE this badass book. I know I’ve said this a lot lately, but this is just one of those thrillers that I’m already wishing I could reread fresh. It was simply THAT good. Rating of 5+ stars.
I’m pretty sure this is going to be a “Top Book of 2024”! This is my first book by this author but it will definitely not be the last. She really knows how to craft a story so well. So engaging. So thrilling. Filled with aha moments and drama and you’re on the edge of your seat the whole time. I absolutely loved reading this book. I’m so honored to be a part of the exclusive book tour to be able to get a first read through of this book. This book will knock your socks off! What a wild ride!
I loved the non-stop action of this book. I'm usually someone who can guess what's happening early on but this kept me wondering and thinking of new theories. The story is told through two perspectives: Cass and Alicia. I wasn't sure who to trust and I loved every second of it! The motel housed a lot of unique characters with different pasts. I loved the friendship and found family that happens in this book. It's not easy to write a complex and layered thriller that also pulls at your heart strings but Seraphina Nova Glass accomplished it! If you're looking for a fast-paced, bingeable thriller with an entertaining cast of characters and a "handyma'am" MC, you'll want to add this to your TBR!

Thank you Thriller Book Lovers Promotions, Seraphina Nova Glass and Graydon House for an eARC and having me on this exclusive tour of THE VACANCY IN ROOM 10, releasing April 9th, 2024!
I'm calling it now, this will hands down be one of the best thrillers of 2024.
This is only my 2nd book by Seraphina Nova Glass, and she as solidified herself as one of the best thriller writers.
Vacancy is Room 10 is a complex story, with many characters told in multi POV from the two main MCs. The story is carefully woven, with tons of intrigue and intensity that had me glued to the pages.
The ending was quite emotional in the very best way, and was truly the icing in the cake.
Loved it!
