I was really into this book at first then it fell flat from. The plot was pretty predictable and even though I did continue it, it was just okay for me.
When Anna Hartley’s husband, Henry, calls her with a terrible, guilty confession, she can’t believe what she hears. It has to be a bad joke—the mild, predictable artist she married would never hurt a fly, let alone commit murder. But her confusion turns to horror when police find his body washed up on the banks of the Rio Grande. Desperate for answers to the millions of questions his untimely death has raised, Anna checks in to The Sycamores, the run-down motel turned apartment Henry rented as an art studio. As she absorbs every bit of gossip the eclectic mix of residents are willing to share about her husband and each other, she begins to piece together a picture of a very different man than the one she married, and the life he led behind her back. The more she learns, and the less sense things seem to make, she finds herself wondering: Did she ever really know Henry at all? But Henry’s secrets aren’t the only ones; as Anna’s search for clues expands, Cass, the mysterious, jaded motel manager, seems more and more determined to keep Anna in the dark. And when threatening letters start appearing at her door, Anna has to decide what’s more important—the truth, or her own safety. Lots going on here but it all ties together nicely. Just the right amount of twists to keep it believable.
Twisty in the best way. Not overly shocking, but exciting. And fully of found family gems! I enjoyed this story once I was able to understand each character - there are a lot of them. I would consider it more of a mystery with just a touch of thrill as things play out. I like the way the women of the Sycamores helped each other constantly regardless of their backgrounds.

This one was good! I enjoyed the plot and didn't anticipate all the plot twists. I liked the multiple POVs and the cast of characters was great and diverse. I had a feeling I knew who did it, but then was wrong.

Cass is living in a run down motel turned apartment building as the handywoman. Anna's husband had rented a unit as an art studio and moves in there after her husband's death trying to find answers. Lots going on as the two women figure out what is happening. I enjoyed the pool ladies.

Anna is devastated by her husband’s death. His last message to her leaves her with more questions than answers. This leads her to where he spent his last days, a run down motel turned apartments. Cass is also living at these apartments as the handy-lady. And Cass has secrets of her own.

What I liked:
-This was such a compulsive mystery/thriller. I just didn’t want to put it down and kept going to dig out all the juicy little secrets that I could!
-Our two POVs are Anna and Cass and they are two very different women. I loved hearing from both their POVs and seeing how each situation looked different to both of them.
-I adored the pool ladies. They were awesome. 😎 They just wanted to party and eat good food, but they had your back and were ready to dig up herbs for you too. 🥹
-I was super happy with the choices that our characters made at the end.

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I’m still so happy with this story, it was 100% bingeable and I highly recommend it.
This is a dual POV book that centers around a woman trying to reconcile the last call she received from her husband confessing murder, and his subsequent suicide. He rented an art studio nearby her home at a shady apartment complex called the Sycamores. It also follows Cass, the apartment manager, who was recently kicked to the curb by her rich realtor boyfriend who left her for a younger woman (and got to keep their friends as well).
I found this book to be slower that domestic thrillers I have read over the past year. It was confusing to follow the cast of characters at the Sycamore initially. This one didn't grab me for quite a bit.
This one had me on my toes! Such a great read!!!! Twists, turns, and lots of surprises in this one! I didn’t guess the ending at all. Definitely recommend!!
Thank you, NetGalley!
I was excited to read this as I have just discovered Seraphina Nova Glass, having recently read On A Quiet Street. This was another captivating domestic thriller! Told from two women’s points of view: Anna, whose husband has recently died; was it suicide or murder?, and Cass, recently dumped by her boyfriend and living in an apartment working as the apartment complex handyman to pay for the rent. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and felt happy with the ending. You can’t take everyone at face value and need to take the time to get to know them. You will be surprised at what you may discover! Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing | Graydon House for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
When Anna's husband, Henry, calls her and confesses to murder, she is in disbelief. However, after he dies by suicide, she is even more confused. She decides to go to the motel where his art studio is and uncovers even more secrets.
I was. missing the suspense here. Some people might be surprised by the twist, but it was just ok for me.
Anna Hartley has had a growing sense of panic and disconnect in regards to her husband, Henry, but that hasn't prepared her for the moment that he calls to tell her that he has killed someone followed by his body washing up on the banks of the Rio Grande!
Henry has spent the past few months renting a room at the run-down motel turned apartment building, The Sycamores, to use as a painting studio so Anna moves into the building to get answers to the many questions her husbands death has raised! But, someone doesn't want Anna to get answers and she quickly feels like she's in danger! As Anna uncovers more secrets about her husband, she befriends residents of The Sycamore, each with their own things to hide!
The Vacancy in Room 10 was an interesting story. I enjoyed the unique, at times quirky, characters and felt that Glass did a good job setting the scene. The story had a few inconsistencies but was a quick, easy, overall enjoyable read with a surprise ending!

This is a great book to put on your summer reading list! A quick read and definite page turner - everyone is guilty in some way but it’s a race to the finish to find out which characters will come out on top!! Thanks for the advanced read!
A really good beach read (if you like thrillers). Could have been a bit shorter, but overall enjoyable.
This was alright. The beginning was very confusing and it took a while to get into it. After the story started connecting and was better
"The Vacancy in Room 10" by Seraphina Nova Glass is a dual POV story following Cass and Anna and how their very different lives cross paths...and it's a little deadly.
I had high hopes for this one! It started off a little witty and fast-paced but quickly slowed down. I enjoyed the dialogue and the general storyline but the slow pace of the book threw me off to where I started to lose interest.
Overall, a solid story and I didn't guess the ending (nor was I surprised if that makes sense!)
Check it out! Out now!

Interesting read and a first for me by this author.
This is a dual point of view story or two woman that end up living at the same motel until they can get on their feet. One widowed and one abandoned by her former lover.
The story weaves itself to unfold three murders and how they all interweave together. Interesting story to read that seemed to get a bit annoying at times. I feel like the author wanted it to go one direction when it opened and then took another turn as she was writing.
Such a great read!! This was a slow burn that is told through two POVs, and all of that buildup was SO worth the wait for that ending! I really enjoyed the variety of characters and personalities, and could not have guessed what anyone was hiding. Definitely recommend this book!
This book was definitely hyped up all over my bookstagram, but at the end of the day, this was just an average domestic suspense read for me. I really loved the setting and the side cast of characters though! I found the initially plot to be interesting, but boy did it get over-the-top pretty quickly. It found it to be a fast and fun read though, just a bit ridiculous.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Anna's husband Henry calls here and frantically tells her that he may have murdered someone and that is the last thing he says to her. The next day Anna gets a phone call saying that he husband's body was found and he committed suicide. This does not sound like something Henry would do so she moves into the shady motel turned apartments where Henry kept as an art studio. As she starts to meet the neighbours and do some investigating of her own, she learns that she didn't really know her late husband at all. Anna and her new friends form a close bond and rely on each other as this mystery unfolds and they find out one among them may not be who they say they are.......Enjoy!!!
I freaking loved this! It was entertaining and I loved how it wrapped up. It started slow but once things picked up, Things moved quickly and it kept my attention. Wasn’t what I was expecting but loved it. Plenty of twist and turns and such a shocking ending.
