This was a solid psychological thriller with a bit of sass. Anna's husband calls her in desperate straits, making a vague confession that he did something that is truly terrible. Then he is found dead. Anna checks into a building where her husband kept his art studio which is in a run down building with a cast of characters. Anna is trying to find clues to what happened. This building is managed by Cass who is someone who is down on her luck and does not really want this job but needs a place to live. Anna and Cass eventually come together to solve this murder. There were moments where the book was a bit confusing and where my attention drifted but I liked the characters and it was a solid thriller and I would definitely explore other books by this author.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

While enjoyable, this missed the mark for me a bit. Things didn't tie together, as there was a lot going on. It could've benefitted from focusing on just a couple of the dramas. It was a slow burn, which isn't my preference. Most of the twists take place near the end of the book, and there was a surprise ending that I appreciated. I also enjoyed the dual POVs.

This book was wild! So many things going on but I was there for it! I enjoyed the setting, the character depth and the author's writing style. Her dry humor and strong female lead definitely speaks to me.

Told from 2 points of view- Cass and Anna. Each of them at the Sycamores for their own reasons. Anna's husband kills himself after a cryptic phone call and she arrives to clean out his studio, Cass finds herself at The Sycamores after a failed relationship. Both women seem to be surrounded by people who seem to have a lot of secrets and they all seem to be intertwined with these dumpy apartments.

I am excited to read more by Serephina Nova Glass! This book moved fast and I had all kinds of scenarios unfolding in my head! The character's were incredibly complex and the detail the author used to describe them really brought the story to life. The sarcastic tone of Cass was my favorite.

Overall fun read!! 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow, this was SO addicting! I devoured it in like two days. This was my first book by this author and I will definitely be reading more from her in the future. Everything you could want in a thriller - fantastic cast of characters, creepy motel setting, perfectly-paced building suspense. Definitely a must-read thriller of the year, highly recommend!

The Vacancy in Room 10 is my first Seraphina Nova Glass thriller and I will definitely pick up her past reads. She captivated my attention from the beginning and kept me hooked with her authentic character development and twists and turns. The book told two seemingly unrelated stories which added to my wonder about how it would all come together. I did wonder about a few of the details but they did not affect my enjoyment of the book. This novel was released on April 9 so it is available now!

Thank you Net Galley, Harlequin Trade Publishing (Graydon House) and Seraphina Nova Glass for the opportunity to preview this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

A story of two unseemingly unconnected stories of two women that have found themselves living a very different life than they are used to at a run down apartment complex converted from a motel - full of strange and interesting residents. The story was face paces and keeps you wondering what really happened. I rated it 4 stars. See my full review @ jillandjackets on TikTok

Seraphina definitely knows how to capture and keep your interest when it comes to thrillers! I will not miss any of her books! I loved the stories between Anna and Cass and how they ended up becoming intertwined. From the explosive opening to how the story ended for both women...I would highly recommend this book!

A big thank you to both NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing | Graydon House for the ARC copy of this one, which is out now!!!

I am a HUGE fan of Seraphina Nova Glass. I adore her writing style and appreciate the hidden details within her stories.
This one was definitely a great read for me! I enjoyed how the story unfolded and really liked the different characters and their development.

I almost hated the ending, but I just knew Glass wouldn't do me dirty like that! And she did NOT! It ended exactly how I wanted it to and that makes a story extra great for me!

At times this one was a tad bit slower, but all of those pieces are needed to get to the final reveal of everything. Definitely recommend this one! (and any of her others as well!)

I love Seraphina Nova Glass! Her books are easy to read and you can binge it, if life didn’t get in the way I would have for sure finished it in one sitting.

I’m a sucker for a book that takes place at a hotel or apartment complex that is run down. You just know they are brimming with secrets and no one is really who they say they are. This book had many twists and turns I didn’t see coming and I would never have guessed the outcome. I love books like this.

Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin Trade and the author for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another win from Seraphina Nova Glass! She has quickly become a must read author for me. I loved this book with a mix of shady characters! The setting was unique and the plot kept me guessing the entire book then BAM! She threw me for a loop! I liked the alternating viewpoints between the two main characters, Cass and Anna. There were many characters but they were fairly easy to keep track of and not get them confused. Thanks for the ARC!

Y’all if you like suspense and thrillers you gotta check this one out. The character development is incredible and helped create a very immersive well rounded story.

I also enjoyed the dual POV and the way the author formed the connection between the characters throughout the story. I think this helped build more suspense and helped give the story a good pace.

I had heard very good things about this author and this was the first book I have read by her and I will definitely be reading more.

📝 I added the synopsis on the graphic.

This is the book I shared I was reading a couple weeks ago! This is the book that kept me awake, and using my kindle app! Crazy I know. I hate ereaders. But this book was worth every minute of grogginess the next day!

This book kept me on the edge of my bed - literally - I usually figure things out early on and can sleep and read the next morning - well not this one. So many possibilities and unanswered questions I just had to keep going!! I hope this is an audiobook too, I’ll be listening to this one and see if I can pick up on some things I missed.

These two women are not meant to cross paths, they are so different and yet both are heartbroken, one has a secret, one wants answers. They both find something much more than they bargained for.

This motel now turned apartments introduces us to a a cast of characters, and what we find in a thriller is a lot more than I knew I wanted; found family, a lot of broken people, some heartache, people surviving, and a lot of secrets.

This book is now available!!

First of all, this author did a great job with description. The visual the reader gets of the story and the characters while reading this was really cool. I liked the characters and the girl power in this book, but at the same time, the storyline felt a little all over the place. Maybe too many storylines? This is definitely a slow burn and would have liked a little more excitement.

This is a super entertaining novel with a great group of characters. Quick-paced and very funny throughout and a must read. Hopefully this becomes a movie one day! A great read!!!!

BOOK REVIEW🛎️🛠️🎨👀🔐🚬

The Vacancy In Room 10 - Seraphina Nova Glass
Pub date: 4/9/2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Although this book didn’t really “do it” for me, I will say two things I liked were the setting and the characters. I really enjoyed the rundown motel-turned apartment complex. (For some reason I kept thinking about Schitt’s Creek while reading this?😆).
The tenants at this gritty Santa Fe apartment complex were all unique, broken and “rough” in their own ways. My favorite character was little Frank Sinatra🥹. (If you know, you know.)
The author did a really good job at describing the setting and I had a vivid picture in my mind of what this all what would have looked like.

That being said, this isn’t your typical crime thriller novel. It’s very unique, which isn’t a bad thing— but unfortunately just didn’t hit the mark for me. There was a lot going on and I found myself getting confused between the dual POV’s— I’d even say it was a bit “messy” at times.
Although I enjoyed the complexity of the characters and the setting, the plot was too all over the place. I didn’t get that suspenseful build-up or shock factor that I definitely need when I’m reading a thriller.

Thank you @netgalley @htpbooks @graydonhousebooks for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Well, this one didn't really do it for me. I've been a fan of Seraphina Nova Glass for a few years and I've really enjoyed some of her past reads (specifically ON A QUIET STREET and SOMEONE'S LISTENING) but this just had a totally different feel and felt really messy.

I just really never clicked with THE VACANCY IN ROOM 10 in anyway, sadly. I didn't get enough of the characters to feel for them. The pacing was a little slow and meandering. There were points where it picked up, but then the plot still felt disconnected while it was all going on. It felt like this was an outline where the author had to make it all come together and it just felt forced and like the pieces of the puzzle never really quite fit together.

I don't have a ton to say about it because I didn't really hate it or anything, but I was just pretty bored and disconnected. It wasn't a bad book but a lot of it were topics, settings, and tropes that I don't love in thrillers, so this is probably a case of this just not being a book for me. It's really hard reading thriller authors sometimes because their books can be SO different when they're connecting with different kinds of thriller audiences. I can rate the same author anywhere from 2 stars to 5 stars sometimes. This will just end up not being a favorite for me, and I can only hope I'll like the next one better!

The Vacancy in Room 10 is a captivating read that will keep you guessing until the very end. Fans of mystery and supernatural fiction will find much to love in Glass's imaginative tale. The story immerses you in a world where every corner holds a secret waiting to be uncovered. Highly recommended!

This book. I mean, this book - just wow! This one grabbed me by the collar and would not let go. It's everything that I'm looking for in a thriller, fast paced, action packed, and lots of twists and turns along the way. I don't think that I guessed a single twist in this one until right before the reveals. I loved all of the characters, and while a bit dysfunctional I want to hang out with them by the pool at the Sycamores. This cast of characters is definitely one of my all time favorites, all so different, but each adding so much to my enjoyment of this story.
This book held me hostage, I could not put it down! If you're looking for a fast paced, twisty thriller, with a great group of characters please pick this one up - it doesn't disappoint.

Thank you to @netgalley and @htpbooks for the gifted copy of this book.
