This book gives a solid weight loss plan. I haven’t started the diet yet but I found the book very informative and easy to understand. If I can lose a pound a day I will be super happy. Worth giving this book a read and a go, it may just be the book that works for me. Excited to try it!

Just another "lose weight fast" book that may work for some, but not for most people who need help with losing weight.

Good advice, but not enough new information here to warrant a purchase. Could be helpful to someone who is just starting out on their weight loss journey and hasn’t already read every weight loss book on the market.

I was interested to see the way that chia seeds are used in this approach. I found that part of the diet the hardest, as I'm not keen on the texture, but overall think that this has helped me lose a little weight by following it for several weeks. Well written and explained, it it also beneficial in providing lots of information about the nutritional value of foods to an audience who might not always consider certain foods good in a weight loss diet.

Unfortunately I don't think this method would be sustainable for me. If you're willing to commit to it then I can see it giving great results (though I don't know how long you can ideally keep it up.) Not a method that would work for me.

This was an interesting read with some great insight and details. Although I would love to rapidly lose weight, I do know it is not as easy as the title states. But, there was some great tips and recipes it is a good read to hep with a weight loss journey.

So I skimmed through this absolute nonsense of a book…there is no easy way for sustainable weight loss and this book just caters to trends.

Madison Cavanaugh’s “Pound-A-Day Rapid Weight Loss—The Easiest Weight You’ll Ever Lose While Achieving Your Best Health Ever” is a great concept, but unrealistic in the long run for most people because it henges on individuals drinking a couple of smoothies each day along with eating one small meal.

In addition, supplement loading is also part of the daily routine for losing a pound a day, along with exercise and drinking lots of water and other low calorie fluids. ( ⚠️ NOTE: The book PROMOTES purchasing supplements from the author.)

🛑 Also—Calories are calories; so if a heavy person consumes 3,500 calories per day less than they require, they will lose weight. But is this healthy on a daily basis? Doubtful…‼️

✅ However, there is one excellent fact promoted in this book that I do like, agree with, and highly recommend. That’s the 80% RULE. Eat until you are only 80% full. This stops binge behaviors and teaches the body to be satisfied, not stuffed and bloated.

And as Cavanaugh reminds readers, “NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS.”

JoyReaderGirl1 graciously thanks NetGalley, Author Madison Cavanaugh, and Publisher Think Outside-the-Book, Inc. for this advanced reader’s copy (ARC) for review.

"Pound-a-Day Rapid Weight Loss" by Madison Cavanaugh claims to offer a quick and straightforward approach to weight loss while promoting optimal health. However, it's important to approach such books with a critical mindset, considering the potential impact on physical well-being and the sustainability of the proposed methods.

One notable aspect of the book is its promise of rapid weight loss, which may be appealing to individuals seeking quick results. The author may provide some practical tips and strategies for shedding pounds, but the efficacy and safety of such rapid weight loss methods should be approached with caution. Rapid weight loss can have adverse effects on health, and sustainable, long-term solutions are often more beneficial.

Cavanaugh's writing style may be accessible and motivational for some readers, encouraging them to embark on a weight loss journey. However, the book's effectiveness may vary depending on individual preferences and the compatibility of the proposed methods with readers' lifestyles.

However, it's crucial to note that drastic weight loss methods may not be suitable for everyone, and a one-size-fits-all approach might not consider individual health conditions, dietary needs, and overall well-being. Sustainable weight loss typically involves a balanced and gradual approach that considers overall health and lifestyle changes.

In conclusion, while "Pound-a-Day Rapid Weight Loss" may appeal to those seeking quick solutions, it's essential for readers to approach such claims with caution. Rapid weight loss methods may have potential risks, and long-term health should be prioritized over quick fixes. Before embarking on any weight loss journey, consulting with healthcare professionals or registered dietitians is advisable to ensure a safe and personalized approach to achieving optimal health.

I'll start by saying that while I am incredibly appreciative that I was allowed an advanced copy of this book, I will not be reviewing it anywhere but hers for the reasons I'm about to name. I'll also say that there was some useful, interesting information I this book, so I wouldn't call it "bad". That said, I don't love the title, as it is one that is a claim that's truly too good to be true. I don't know that I believe that extreme, rapid weight loss is either healthy or sustainable, and I'm sad we live in a world where people (myself included) gravitate towards the hope that it IS true. I have struggled with my weight for several years now, and although I'd love to lose a pound a day, I realize that if I actually DID do such a thing, I'd gain it back just as quickly. It's sad to say, but I think I'll be returning to old fashioned exercise and low carbs. That said, I wouldn't fully discourage a reader from picking up this book- I'd just say know your body, know what's attainable AND sustainable, and try the things you feel you are beneficial- and discard the things that are not.

This was an interesting read, with a nice combination of new-to-me methods for eating differently to promote weight loss and reducing stress, combined with some tried and true techniques for eating and exercise. I think the examples, sample recipes and directions for exercises will help people adopt the method more easily.

There are so many weight loss books available today. I honestly did not expect to find any new material to use when I picked up this book. However, I was pleasantly surprised and found useful information to not necessarily lose weight but to help improve my health.

Than you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book seems very unrealistic and too good to be true!! It hardly kept my interest. I had to force myself to keep reading.

First off, I apologize to readers of my review that I was attracted to the promise of losing a pound a day! Almost anyone who has dieted has probably learned that a safe and more sustainable weight loss is no more than about one to two pounds a week. What was I thinking! Granted, there is some interesting nutritional information within, and I may try the very first recipe, a vegetable pizza with sweet potato crust. But many of the “mindset technique” recommendations were suspect, and the style of the book overall is not appealing. Just my opinion.

Of course this interests me because I’ve struggled with my weight since I was young.

Nothing is a quick fix I’ve learned and even when you lose it if you lose sight it comes back and worse!

I’ve done Herbalife as a 14 yr old and lost 80 lbs. Kept it off until I was 19/20. The highest I gained in 3 pregnancies was 15 lbs and took it right off. Lost 100 lbs on WW & running then proceeded to injure my ankle that led to depression and gaining it back. Lost 58 lbs on Noom for my daughters wedding… gained 20 lbs back during Covid.

My first thoughts are that this is not sustainable or safe. Just my opinion. My husband and I are going to try this but I am going to start off with the 1st option and he will do the 4th option which is to ease into it.

I almost deleted the book when I read tapping is in this book. I am NOT okay with this practice. I think it is a technique created that is NOT helpful and creates more issues. Again my opinion. I will throw out that section of the book!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.

POUND A DAY WEIGHTLOSS

Okay, let’s talk about the title. Obviously, I was going to check it out.

That’s the dream, isn’t it? Eat what you want, make a simple change, and watch the scale go down.

There was a lot of science to justify the choices and it kept my interest.

Am I fully sold? Meh. About 76% (how’s that for scientific), but what does that mean?

I’m fully willing to look into it more, but like with most things that sound a bit too good to be true, I’m cautious.

3.6.

This is a pretty decent lifestyle book. I don't call it a diet book because it's better for building good lifestyle choices. I lost 5 pounds trying out the book's methods over a 4 week period... not quite "a pound a day" but still not bad.

I read through this with interest, learned a few things but Covid put the kibosh on this right in the middle. Will try again after the holidays but did get some interesting tips that might also benefit my cholesterol.
