The premise of a small-town girl being reluctantly drawn to a Hollywood heartthrob isn’t exactly new, and while the setup offers some potential for chemistry, the execution falls a bit flat. The characters—particularly the female protagonist—feel somewhat one-dimensional, and Lucas Stone’s "entitled jerk" persona is more frustrating than endearing.

The stormy tent scene tries to bring a spark of connection, but the romance feels rushed and predictable. While the conflict around "not getting involved with someone famous" is a decent starting point, the stakes never really feel high, and the plot doesn’t stray far from typical rom-com clichés.

If you're in the mood for a light, predictable read with some mild tension, this might do the trick—but don’t expect anything that stands out from the crowd.

Mia Summers' Hollywood romances were all good fun! Lighthearted romance is exactly what I needed when I picked this up and Summers delivered.

This story was a cute, light read. It kept me engaged and entertained. I enjoyed how Lucas and Rachel grew together and learned that past hurts shouldn't dictate the future.

I couldn’t get into this series. I shouldn’t have taken all three before trying the first book. DNF at 34%

I love a slow burn romance story that does not have a love triangle in it. This was such a light-hearted easy read that was enjoyable the whole way through. I immediately fell in love with the main characters Rachel and Lucas. I also loved the setting of the Washington woods; with the great family dynamic Rachel has with her best friend and boss. It’s a heartwarming read. The only critique I have in the special surprise at the end, I wanted it to last a little longer with a little more description! It was cut off too quickly. Otherwise, a good read.

I think I expected more because of the cover. This was a slow burn for me that did not have the big wow factor I wanted. I feel parts of the storyline were a little far-fetched. Nevertheless the premise behind the story was cute.

This story is a slow-burn romance with relatable characters. Fans of the miscommunication trope are sure to enjoy this book. It revolves around two main characters, Rachel and Lucas. After experiencing heartbreak from her cheater ex, Rachel returns to her small hometown. Meanwhile, Lucas, a wealthy Hollywood star, arrives in the same town, and their lives collide when Rachel begins her new job as a tour guide. The playful banter between the characters keeps the story engaging to a fast-paced conclusion that feels a bit rushed. However, I found it hard to stay invested, especially with the twist that Rachel's best friend is also her stepmother?!!!!!

Overall I really liked this book. I liked the story line, characters and I loved all the nature included.
I really connected with Lucas and Rachel and loved to see them grow on their own as well as grow towards each other.
If you like romance, small town, slow burn, one bed, dual POV books you'll love this one!

This is a perfectly serviceable novel. There are a number of times where the characters have these long introspective monologues that are fairly repetitive and also where we as readers would be better served by action or interactions between the characters. But the scenery was neat and it was interesting learning about location scouting. The ending was a little odd, and abrupt.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to enjoy this one, but the writing was clunky and cringey to me. I stopped and started several times in the hopes that it would improve, but I never had any luck.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Rachel and Lucas. Rachel has returned from living in New York. She got fired from her museum job, caught her fiancé cheating on her, and decided to return home. She gets her old job back at the hotel. Lucas is an actor, who has bought the rights for a book. He is going to write, produce, and direct the book. He needs Rachel to scout locations for the movie. She does an excellent job. They fall in love.

Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.

I had higher hopes for the second novel in this series, but Love Interest #9 let me down, sadly. I know it's likely my own opinion, but whew.

I *cannot* stand when authors use miscommunication as a trope. You are adults. You are not teenagers. It doesn't fit when two twenty or thirtysomethings can't have a god damn conversation.

This book also had the same issues as the last. It's written like a novel that is going to have sex, with no sex. So the tropes don't flow and readers are left wondering WHY we're going to all this trouble for a chaste kiss. It makes the characters read as friends, not lovers.

This was cute, the FMC had a breakup and got kicked out of her apartment so she travels back to her hometown and takes a random job as a tour guide and stays at a bed and breakfast. Here comes our MMC who is a producer and trying to find a location for a new production he is working on, he sees our FMC and hires her as his tour guide. On the tour they get trapped in a tent and they end up falling for each other.

Are you drawn to beautiful natural settings and a well-developed romance? Love Interest #9 might be just what you're looking for!

Love Interest #9 unfolds as a captivating slow-burn story featuring Lucas, a renowned actor, and Rachel, a young woman who returns to her hometown seeking a fresh start. As Rachel assists Lucas with location scouting, their relationship gradually evolves.

The characters are skillfully crafted, allowing the romance to unfold naturally within the narrative—a feature I particularly enjoy. 🤌

The book vividly describes the setting, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in Rachel's hometown and its charming locales. I found myself longing to experience these scenes firsthand.

However, there's one aspect that struck me as unusual. Rachel's best friend is also her stepmother, having married Rachel's father. Rachel's nonchalant attitude toward their relationship left me intrigued. Shouldn't such a dynamic have more of an impact? 🤔

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for letting me read this book. It was a pleasure to have this opportunity.

Male lead just met the female lead and immediately his heart was skipping a beat, he found her the most beautiful woman alive, "her eyes shone with a wit and passion"—slow down, cowboy, you literally just met her and your first impression is that she was ranting about the evils of the wealthy.

I wanted to like the book because it’s a celebrity romance, but I have been let down. It’s just not for me and was honestly a chore to get through.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an e-ARC copy of this book, in exchange for this honest review.
