Mia Summers is a phenomenal author and I love getting the chance to read all her books. I love the simple covers with all different colors.

This is my least favorite from the Big Star, Small Town series. But it was ok to read, the characters were well-developed and likable.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Mia Summers delivers quick, unfussy romances that are definitely heavy on the cute side. This one is a safe read for any age and doesn't require much involvement to hustle through since it's so short and straightforward.

Rachel & Lucas's destinies are pretty clear from the beginning. The ancillary characters definitely feel like just that--ancillary--and their lack of involvement hurts the depth of the story since everything is pretty superficial and everything Rachel does is forgivable. It's too heavy on Rachel's rough edges and Lucas's constant acceptance to build up any good elements.

The ending seemed rushed, but not surprising considering that the plot was on a pretty straight line the entire time; no need to perseverate when glossing over parts did the same trick. Still, it was a easy read that was nice to get lost in for a few hours

Overall: 3.5 stars

I'll tell my students about: parental death

**Thank you to NetGalley and Sterling & Stone for the free ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.**

Rachel a girl who is grudgingly back in her small hometown and Lucas Stone the Mr.Hollywood of the century, the most unlikely duo. The character's were extremely likable though their pasts were sometimes thrown in your face throwing you for a loop. The writing though basic, was fun to read. The ending though throws you off balance, suddenly everything falls into place, in like three pages with no buildup whatsoever. The last chapter was extremely weird because it felt like the character's has suddenly been gifted with new personalities. The concept was great, the exhibition good but the ending felt slightly rushed and alla in all not very satisfactory. All in all definitely a book for the younger teens.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publishers for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review! This is the second book I have read by Mia Summers. I enjoyed reading this light hearted, slow burn romance book. I immediately loved the two main characters Lucas and Rachel. While they have an opposite lifestyle from one another they do get along and have things in common. The more time they spend together the more they realize if they can be more then acquaintances. This was a heartfelt, warm, cozy read with great friendships/ families and a great town setting. I read it super quickly and enjoyed Love Interest from start to finish.

A cute story about a heartthrob who wants to be a director and the nature guide who is bringing him around to areas that he can feature in his film. I thought the couple was cute and this is a clean, slow burn romance that was pretty fast paced overall. I thought Rachel was written with too much of a chip on her shoulder against rich people which made her a little unlikeable until about half way into the book but I ended up liking the ending a lot. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for an advanced reader’s copy.

Actual rating: 3.5 — I honestly was really loving and enjoying this book until the near end. It had such a good beginning to where I was immediately interesting in the story. I loved the main characters from the start and how they were portrayed. I enjoyed the pacing and how it was pretty fast and moved along nicely. I think we could have gotten some more details for sure about some things (Stephanie’s character was pretty confusing to me at times) but overall they weren’t too important I didn’t think. We also didn’t get a lot of details about her dad. He was more of a background character and was more so thrown in for a particular scene and then not in the rest of the book. The whole third act drama and resolution was very rushed and put together in a somewhat sloppy way. This was pretty disappointing because the build up was so good and I was craving the best ending for them and then never got it. The groveling from Lucas was minimal and subpar, Rachel didn’t question him or act hurt at all once he reappeared for the “apology”. And Dane? What the heck happened to him and calling for Rachel and trying to get her back? That whole side to the plot was completely left behind and we get nothing from it. We also barely get hints of where Lucas and Rachel are once they get together and how things end up for them.

This is one of those books that while reading it, I enjoyed it a lot but when I go back and think about the building of the book, it gets less impressive. I thought my rating for this book would be higher while I was still reading but I just can’t due to the ending. In my opinion I’d rather have a book start out this way and then improve and become better as it goes leading to a higher rating than have a book start on a high and decrease as it goes.

a Hollywood star is searching for a spot to make his own movie, but nobody should know. Then he mets his tourguide and everything changed.

She hates rich people, because she made some very bad experiences with her fiance, but can Hollywood change her mind?

Very cute and sometimes emotional lovestory. There are some very special situations in.

Have fun reading!

Disclaimer: I got a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I usually love slow-burns, but this one, not so much. Don't get me wrong, the main character and the love interest are likable, but the storyline had much to be desired.

I actually found the relationship build-up between Rachel and Lucas enjoyable, because I love patiently waiting for when things start to heat up, but ultimately, the storyline went downhill at the end.

There was so much potential, so many other things to throw into the mix, but the main conflict in the story was layers and layers and misunderstanding and miscommunication, which is great if used effectively along with other conflict tropes, but not when it's all there is.

To be honest, with the way Rachel's ex-boyfriend was described in the story, I was hoping that Rachel could somehow get a satisfying in-your-face scene where she flaunts Lucas because she can, and she'd be totally smug about it. I can just imagine it in my head and taste it in my mouth when I was reading the story. That would have made me really happy. Our girl endured so much from her ex-boyfriend, I thought she deserved to have her epic comeback at the very least, but none of that happened.

Lastly, although I enjoyed the relationship build-up, I was not quite convinced about the falling in love part. It felt like instant-love, and to me that's not a good thing.

All in all, this was an easy read, still would recommend for those who want to read something uncomplicated.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review!

I love a slow burn romance story that does not have a love triangle in it. This was such a light-hearted easy read that was enjoyable the whole way through. You immediately fell in love with the main characters Rachel and Lucas. They could not live more different lifestyles, but they see eye to eye on so many things. The more time they spend together the more they start questioning each of their resolve.

I loved the setting of the Washington woods, with the great family dynamic Rachel has with her best friend and boss. It’s a heartwarming read. The only critique I have in the special surprise at the end, I wanted it to last a little longer with a little more description! It was cut off too quickly. Otherwise good read.

This is my first book by author Mia Summers.

After breaking up with her wealthy ex boyfriend Rachel is fed up with rich men. So when famous actor Lucas wants to hire her as a location scout for his upcoming movie, she’s not thrilled. But after some bumps in the road she decides to take him on as a client anyway. And that’s when she discovers Lucas is anything but the spoiled, entitled brat she thought he was.
I really loved the way this story was told. I loved that Lucas saw that Rachel was a genuinely nice person, very good at her work. And I loved that Rachel had to admit that Lucas was a caring, humble man without an ego. They really found each other on that mountain.

I enjoyed this book and thought the character connection and pace was good.

If you are looking for a feel good romance with sweeping descriptions of Washington's wilderness, look no further than Mia Summers' Love Interest #9. The book focuses on Rachel and Logan. Rachel, because of life circumstances, ends up back in her small hometown of Canyon Ridge. Rachel is living in her childhood home with her dad and his new wife, Stephanie, who happens to be Rachel's best friend from college (I promise this storyline in funny, weird but funny). Lucas is a Hollywood action star, who is looking for something new. Lucas is looking for a location to film a movie and thinks Canyon Ridge is the perfect place, but needs to local guide to tour him around. Luckily, Rachel is back at her high school job of being a local tour guide. Rachel and Lucas are thrust together and secretly begin to fall for each other.

Summers does a great job expressing the emotions of both characters. The descriptions of Canyon Ridge had me researching if it is a real area - yes, it is. Even, Summers description about film jobs, like location scouting is accurate. Love Interest #9 is a great read that will leave you smiling.

A very nice read about Rachel and Luas.
We didn’t even have to talk, and it still felt so weirdly comfortable between us. Silence was one of my favorite things to share with the people I love most in the world, because it was indicative of the level of comfort we had with each other.
I also liked that the relationship wasn’t rushed. You definitely saw their relationship grow and evolve slowly, which was beautiful. You saw Rachel having internal discussions with herself about whether a relationship with Lucas could work, if he really was this nice guy or just playing a part, like an actor, wondering why he would ever be interested in her. I liked that it wasn’t rushed. Lucas knew quite quickly that Rachel was different from any of the women he dated before, but he took it slow.
You know there’s going to be a misunderstanding or a fight or something, but I found the way that was handled a bit disappointing and rushed. I think both of their reactions were a bit extreme and presumptuous, Rachel even more than Lucas. I would have liked the ending to be a bit more realistic and see them work through any issues they have. Also, Rachel kept referring to Lucas as ‘Hollywood’ and after a few chapters it was getting old. I understand she did that to emotionally distance herself from the person Lucas in favor of the famous Hollywood actor, but I would have liked her gradually having a change of heart be translated to her calling him Lucas. But despite that I liked the book a lot. Kudos for the writer to keep this a clean story, I feel it’s better to invest in building the emotional relationship instead. I can recommend this book a lot, it makes you want to go on a hike! I will definitely check out more books by this author.

This book had so much potential. I really liked both characters separately. I just feel like they didn’t really have that tension between them. It just felt like 2 people starting to become friends. There was nothing that made me root for them or nothing that made me feel like they in love. Plus I couldn’t stand her constantly mentioning how much she hated rich people. We got it. You hate them. Most of the world does. I just felt like there was something missing. Plus, the slow burn was soooooooo slow for it to wrap up in the last 2 chapters and him to realize he’s in love? I dunno. That seemed really far fetched to me.

Suuuuuuuper clean for anyone wondering. There’s talk of him and her having fantasies but nothing happens. I don’t even think there was any cursing.

This was a fast, cute read. I will admit that I was turned off in the beginning when we find out that the MC's roomate from college is married to her dad and has made her old bedroom into a craft room leaving the MC sleeping on the sofa. However, the book did infact get better as I read on. Lucas and Rachel were really cute together and I liked that Rachel was independent and strong while she appreciated the little things Lucas did to take care of her. I did think the end was rushed and would have like to have read a little tle more of how they each established themselves in their new career paths while being together as a couple.

It was an interesting story line, with OK characters, and that's it.

The two main characters (Rachel and Lucas a.k.a Hollywood) felt more like friends than lovers the whole time, their relationship moved really slow and then there's this grand gesture at the end and it wraps up in like 3 pages!?

many paragraphs of them trying to justify their prejudices, got annoying quick.
