This book had so much potential. I really liked both characters separately. I just feel like they didn’t really have that tension between them. It just felt like 2 people starting to become friends. There was nothing that made me root for them or nothing that made me feel like they in love. Plus I couldn’t stand her constantly mentioning how much she hated rich people. We got it. You hate them. Most of the world does. I just felt like there was something missing. Plus, the slow burn was soooooooo slow for it to wrap up in the last 2 chapters and him to realize he’s in love? I dunno. That seemed really far fetched to me.

Suuuuuuuper clean for anyone wondering. There’s talk of him and her having fantasies but nothing happens. I don’t even think there was any cursing.

This was a fast, cute read. I will admit that I was turned off in the beginning when we find out that the MC's roomate from college is married to her dad and has made her old bedroom into a craft room leaving the MC sleeping on the sofa. However, the book did infact get better as I read on. Lucas and Rachel were really cute together and I liked that Rachel was independent and strong while she appreciated the little things Lucas did to take care of her. I did think the end was rushed and would have like to have read a little tle more of how they each established themselves in their new career paths while being together as a couple.

It was an interesting story line, with OK characters, and that's it.

The two main characters (Rachel and Lucas a.k.a Hollywood) felt more like friends than lovers the whole time, their relationship moved really slow and then there's this grand gesture at the end and it wraps up in like 3 pages!?

many paragraphs of them trying to justify their prejudices, got annoying quick.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I previously wrote a longer review for this book and I accidentally deleted it. You get the reduced version of it from me now.
It was a very sweet and easy read. I really enjoyed both lead characters and their interactions. I did not care for the ending. I feel like the climax could have been better, the grand gesture didn't seem sufficient, and the ending was missing something. Otherwise the story itself was good, I'd pick up more books from this author. Thank you Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this.

This is an adorable romance between an unlikely match - a Hollywood star and a tour guide from a small town. The banter between Lucas and Rachel is cute and the fact she has to save him from spiders a number of times is hilarious. There's no spice if that's the kind of romance you're looking for, instead it's a slow burn cute story focusing on the banter and building chemistry between the two main characters. My main criticism would be the final chapter which makes exactly zero sense and has no connection to the rest of the story. I understand it's trying to link to the next story but it really doesn't belong.

This love story between Lucas and Rachel had so much potential - Lucas is an interesting character and I felt we learnt more about him as a character compared to Rachel and it would have been nice to get to know them more.

It’s a nice, easy to read romance story that was enjoyable, but ultimately left me wanting more - the scenery descriptions are beautiful but would loved to have know these characters more to make them more real and bring the story to life more.

Loved reading the amazing and awesome story. When Rachel becomes a tour guide for Lucas Stone, a famous, wealthy actor, Rachel at first wants nothing to do with him but is soon swayed to the charisma of the actor. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read romance!

This was a good read that managed to let us into our main characters’ thoughts and hearts efficiently and in a timely way, given it’s not a terribly long book. I enjoyed it, and look forward to reading others in the series.

What else would happen if a hollywood hero comes to town to scout a location? Of course he falls in love with a woman who hates those who feel entitled because they have loads of money. Is she going to love him back? Of course because that's how romance novels work. Is the story to get there laugh out loud funny and well told, absolutely yes. The banter between characters is fun and their friendship unfolds naturally. I'm going to start clucking at people who annoy me and I want to go away. There are parts I laughed so hard. I would have loved to see a final scene with Rachel standing up to Dane but that's ok. Enjoyable read.

The beginning of this book is really strange, and I think it could be left out. It’s just a weird little side plot, but I was not a fan. This would have started better with Rachel getting the job and moving in there right away. Maybe even a scene with Dane cheating and her leaving. But her dad and her friend??? Super weird.

Rachel comes across as a nice person at first, but she instantly acts like a child when Lucas is around. I’m still not sure why she hates him right away after barely speaking to him - he didn’t say anything offensive.

I just wasn’t a huge fan of this one. The characters were one-dimensional, and I felt like everything happened too fast. It did not flow.

A sweet, funny and comfy read. It didn't bore me for once. Exciting, interesting and less stressful. I was so eager to grab it all.

Both the main characters were my favorite. Both were matured. I really liked Rachel's confidence. The way she was so good at her job and managed to be friendly and professional at the same time amazed me. Lucas, on the other hand, was very sweet and perfect for Rachel.

I loved the whole book but there was so much story to the end. It ended in a rush. Also some things remained unclear.

But guess what, that couldn't keep me from giving it a five star.

Cheesy. Really really really cheesy. Definitely still a rom com that one should read when they need a pick me up but be warned that it is CHEESY. The characters are decent people but not really believable. Didn’t finish the story with the ex boyfriend either and the ending felt super rushed. Slow burn but almost felt like there was no burn at times because of all the melodrama happening that I chose to skip through.

This book was not for me. I like books with a little more plot and a bit faster pace. I can see how some people would like it, but again, not for me.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed it a lot, loved Lucas and Rachel but there was a lot I didn’t like. First of all, and this is not a spoiler it is mentioned in the first few pages, her college roommate/best friend is married to her dad. I hate that but she is for some reason completely fine with it? Rachel was living with them after her life went to crap in NYC and she had to move home, then she gets her high school job as a tour guide back and it comes with accommodation.

That wasn’t enough to ruin the story for me because the relationship was very cute. It was a little fast, the whole book occurs over a few days. It’s a closed door romance. I also found the ending a little cringey. I think there needed to be a lot more to the story towards the end, it felt like it got cut off and left a lot unresolved.

Overall, I finished it in about 2 hours and did enjoy it. While there was parts I didn’t like it was still cute. If you want a quick read this is it.

this book took the burn out of the slow burn and bet everything on the slow 🤺

all their conversations and everything they did together were super platonic, they felt more like besties than potential lovers. no tension, no attraction, just a couple of buddies hiking 🏕

the male pov was exactly what I DON'T picture a guy thinking, the man is supposed to be a rich womanizer but his thoughts give off the opposite 🥹

so so so many paragraphs of thoughts and self introspection and justifying their prejudices, I could read the first sentence and knew what the whole paragraph was about

but if you're looking for a very non-intense romance, sweet and maybe realistic actually, give it a try

This was a perfectly pleasant and fast read. The prose was a bit purple (so many adjectives and adverbs) and the love story itself moved way too fast to be believable, but it still somehow worked.

I really wanted more here. More heat, more spice, more chemistry. Just wasn’t there and it was disappointing,

It could have been a cute, if slightly stretchy in the details, little story, but the author decided the reader should just infer instalove based on 10% dialogue, a bunch of nature descriptions, and a handful of badly contrived inconveniences. Which...weird choice.

When I got a copy of this book I was so beyond excited. This took the actor trope out of Hollywood and right into the middle of nowhere. Lucas is very likeable, I was less keen on Rachel at the beginning but she definitely grew on me.

Super easy to read, and having taken less than 24 hours I can safely say I didn’t want to put it down.

Side note I was so confused about the title but that last page definitely rounded it all out for me. Very satisfying ending!

The two leads were well characterized and I liked them, but the love story wasn't all that for me. but I do have some interest in the other parts of the series
