I really enjoy this series of books featuring Detective Mackenzie Price, this one I struggled to get into until about the third chapter. After that, I was totally hooked as usual! Mack is a complex character, she is hard but flawed as well. The plotting was excellent, with plenty of pace and twists, as well as suspense and a few shocking moments. Another well written book in the series which I highly recommend to lovers of mysteries and thrillers. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
Really good and read in one sitting (as usual)!
A must for your winter reading list.
Thank you to the publisher, Netgalley and the author for an advanced copy

A Riveting Thriller that Keeps You on the Edge of Your Seat
Ruhi Choudhary's "Out of Sight (Detective Mackenzie Price Book 6)" is a five-star masterpiece that delivers a chilling and intense ride from the very first page. This installment in the Detective Mackenzie Price series is a testament to Choudhary's skill in crafting suspenseful narratives and complex characters.
The story begins with a gruesome murder that sets the tone for a gripping tale. Detective Mackenzie Price, along with her partner Nick Blackwood, is thrust into a case that becomes increasingly macabre with each revelation. The vivid descriptions of the crime scenes evoke a sense of unease, making the reader feel as though they are right there alongside the investigators.
What sets this book apart is the intricate web of connections and mysteries woven into the plot. The removal of the victim's left eye adds a uniquely sinister element, and as Mackenzie delves deeper into the investigation, the discovery of a similar murder from thirty years ago adds layers of complexity. The suspense is masterfully maintained as Mackenzie races against time to catch a serial killer who seems to be recreating a long-dead murderer's modus operandi.
Detective Mackenzie Price shines as a protagonist. Her determination, intelligence, and vulnerability make her a character readers can invest in. The personal stakes are raised when Mackenzie discovers a link between the victims and a commune outside of town, adding a new dimension to the investigation. Choudhary skillfully develops Mackenzie's character arc, allowing readers to witness her growth and resilience in the face of mounting danger.
The tension escalates with each turn of the page, keeping readers guessing until the final revelation. The author expertly navigates the balance between plot twists and character development, ensuring that the emotional weight of the story resonates long after the last page is turned.
"Out of Sight" is not just a crime thriller; it's a psychological rollercoaster that explores the darkness lurking beneath seemingly ordinary lives. Ruhi Choudhary has once again proven herself as a master storyteller, delivering a compelling narrative with a relentless pace. Fans of Detective Mackenzie Price will find this installment to be a thrilling and satisfying addition to the series.
Thanks to Choudhary, the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
"Mad Mack" is back with another exciting mystery to solve involving the violent death of a woman, found with her eye removed. The case falls to Mack and Nick to solve. When another body is found in the same condition, the fear of a serial killer rises. After discovering that both women had recently had a baby and have a troubled past, Mack and team try to trace the links back to their unknown perp. These cases are very similar to an unsolved case in the past.. In addition, the two murder victims were a part of a commune built around a male leader who takes in troubled women to help them get healthy. Underside of the group is that leader requires all women to have sex with him and to sign away their rights to the children that are produced from this coupling ritual. Mack is trying to stay focused on the case, all the while she is struggling with her feelings for Nick that go beyond those of a partner at work. The book is great, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
A digital copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and Bookouture. The opinions are my own and freely given.
This is book 6 in the Detective Mackenzie Price series.
When a woman's body is found with one eye missing, this launches a re-opening of a decades long case.
This story involves a "cult" like religion, a police cover-up and former drug addicted women. This is a very fast-paced story and Mackenzie and Nick are rushing to find the murderer before its too late. They are also trying to bring the "cult" leader down to stop what is happening in the woods.
I have read Mackenzie from the beginning and although, you don't have to, the author does a great job of recapping the previous stories, without giving too much away, I recommend this series and therefore, if you haven't read Mackenzie Price from the beginning, I urge you to do so.

First of all, finally! My heart is happy. I love Mack. She is such a complex character and her growth over the series has me completely invested. After the shock of that opening chapter, I couldn't put this book down. It kept me guessing and my heart racing. Wow! There were shocking reveals. And that ending. It got me excited for the next one. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Detectives Mackenzie Price and Nick Blackwood have their hands full. They've been calls to investigate a death and the victim's left eye has been removed. The woman had a troubled past, but had turned her life around. She also has links to a cult-like organization called "The Farm" that gives Mack and Nick pause. In addition, at The Farm, there's a woman who is of interest to both the detectives, Zoe. But, what really sets this case into full gear, is that it links back to their Sargeant's (Sully) initial cases when joining the squad - and he's acting very out of character when they press him on the previous case. Absolutely fantastic!!! Written so well - and the characters are described so thoughtfully - one of the best! Thank you to Bookouture for an advanced reader of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
Out of Sight (Detective Mackenzie Price Book 6) by Ruhi Choudhary is an addictive mystery and crime thriller. I was able to read this in one day because I couldn't put it down as I wanted to find out what would happen next in this story and series.
First, I love the covers of these books. They are intriguing and colorful and set the stage for the story.
I really like Mad Mack! She is hard around the edges, has flaws, and knows that she needs to try a bit harder to trust people. She doesn't like to appear vulnerable.
I liked the line about history repeating itself until the lesson it's trying to teach is learned. This is so true and relevant today.
The book had some good shocking moments and surprises. I cannot wait to see what is in store for Mackenzie next. Out of Sight is a very good addition to the series. I would recommend this book and this author.

This book…wow! A dark and disturbing thriller that had me desperate to read just one more chapter. A cast of shady characters, a gripping story, everything I want from a book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m going to be honest. When I first started this book the first chapter made me mad. I almost changed books.
But I love this series and the characters, flaws and all. For a while it felt a bit disjointed for me because it’s been a long while since we have visited Mad Mack. But then I felt the click and the author had me hooked. This book had a lot going on. And I’ll be honest (again), I was looking for a certain aspect and it was missing until a certain point…thus my feeling of it not flowing with last book.
All in all it was excellent and I’m looking forward to what’s to come. I really interested in the new character.
This is a great book. I have read and loved the whole series. If you like murder mysteries that are action packed you will love this book. You get invested in the lives of Mackenzie and Nick. I highly recommend.
Great book and series! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! This author is definitely becoming one of my go to authors! This book had a bit of everything! It had high suspense, intrigue, action packed, murder, serial killer, revenge, gas lighting, cults, great who done it, great police work and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book and series they're well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
I love it when new cases have similarities to old cases. The first few questions that pop up are: Are they connected? Or is there a copy cat in town? Maybe the person that was arrested at the time, was not the real culprit?
These are questions Mad Mac, her partner Nick and their team have to find answers for and they soon discover things they hoped they would never have had to find out. But it is what it is and once again, time is ticking away and although judges and the likes should work together with the police, the truth is often very different.
They are finding themselves with their backs against the wall and it's time for Nick and Mac to open their bag of tricks and think out of the box. Sometimes a (wo)man has got to do what a (wo)man has got to do to bring light to the darkness.
Sometimes people lie because they follow others or don't want to hurt them, but it's something they will be forced to live with for many years.
A very, very good book with lots of twists I did not see coming at all. I just adore it when an author can do this to a story and drive the reader insane in the most positive way. 5 stars
Thank you
