This is definitely a book for a specific audience. If you are already a person who believes in the mind/body/spirit connection, and the impact of vibrational energy, you will most likely enjoy this thoroughly researched treatise. If you are a skeptic, there is a little here that will likely convince you to believe. Personally, I am a member of the former group so the information in this book deeply resonated for me. Because of the volume of material, I also feel like this is a book that could benefit from multiple rereads and I plan to do just that. I look forward to purchasing a hardcopy to keep on my bookshelf for reference.

I appreciate NetGalley and the publisher for access to a digital ARC. My honest review is my own opinion.

YOU ARE A FREQUENCY by Debbie Ann Sellwood is passionately written, deeply researched, and tremendously thoughtful. Throughout her explanations of uncommon wisdom and perspectives, I deep enjoyed being pushed beyond my daily assumptions to wonder more deeply about our connections with one another and the Collective Unconscious. While the organization and presentation were erratic in places, her shining voice of reason in a defiantly rigid healthcare culture kept me going. I had to know what else she had to share -- if you are at all open to different points of view on energy, life, and wellbeing, give this book a read. I received a copy of this book and these thoughts are my own, unbiased opinions.

3.8 ⭐️
In a nutshell, this is a scientific look at electromagnetic rays and aura energy fields and how they impact our health. Or better yet, the ancient practice of Ayurveda…with scientific study references.

It’s written in an educational research paper style and packed with so much research and studies, that at times it felt repetitive, interruptive to the flow and overcomplicated the message. I read about these topics often and know much of this content already, but this was by far the hardest for me to stay focused on. I like the idea of scientific backings, but this is not my preferred style.

For those completely new to this concept, this will be extremely overwhelming to take in all at once. This pushes western religious beliefs and the “dr knows best” pill-pushing profit industry boundaries, so many aren’t open to this concept. But there is a shift happening, more eyes are opening and questioning what they thought they knew. If ever there was a time to read and learn about this, it’s now.

Stars knocked off for writing style. Too over-complicated, bring it down to earth for an easier read and it will bode better.

Thank you to NetGalley, Collective Ink Limited, and Debbie Anne Sellwood for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is an incredibly long winded book. It is definitely not for the layman. The book is full of references of other texts that would seem to support the authors claims, and is perfect for a person who already believes the subject matter to be true.

As for the skeptic, it likely will not convince them the subject is true. I personally find it to be bland and the author too convinced of their own conclusions.

Maybe I am not the target audience. I personally wouldn't recommend this book to someone who isn't already deeply involved in this specific field. I am not certainly not convinced one way or another regarding this book's subject matter.

I wish all those who to pursue this specific the best of luck. I don't hate this book, but the subject matter definitely did not connect with me or sway my opinions, nor do I feel that I have learned anything of substance.

In a world where there is a growing interest in holistic well-being and a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection, "You Are a Frequency" offers a fresh perspective. Sellwood introduces the concept that everything in the universe, from living beings to inanimate objects, possesses a unique vibration or frequency. She explains how these energy bodies influence our overall health and well-being, with the physical body acting as a medium for the consciousness of these energy bodies.

One of the book's key messages is the profound impact of our thoughts, perceptions, and reactions on our health and experiences. Sellwood emphasizes that our reactions to life events can determine the quality of experiences we attract into our lives, including our state of health. By raising our vibrations and becoming more attuned to our energetic selves, we gain the power to take greater responsibility for our well-being.

The author's belief that understanding ourselves as energetic beings can inspire a future health paradigm is both intriguing and thought-provoking. Sellwood's exploration challenges readers to expand their awareness and consider a more holistic approach to health and healing that encompasses the physical, emotional, mental, and energetic aspects of our existence.

"You Are a Frequency" will resonate with individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their potential. It speaks to those who recognize the spiritual component of their existence and are open to exploring the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.

As we navigate an era that encourages us to look beyond the surface and embrace a more profound understanding of ourselves and the world around us, Debbie Sellwood's book serves as a valuable resource. It invites us to acknowledge that we are more than just physical bodies and encourages us to tap into our inner frequencies for greater well-being and self-discovery.

In a time when holistic health and consciousness are at the forefront of our collective awareness, "You Are a Frequency" offers a compelling and timely perspective on the human experience. It encourages us to explore the depths of our being and consider a more holistic approach to health and life itself.

You are a Frequency is an insightful book about the connection between mind body and soul. The author explains how energy impacts the subtle bodies which ultimately dictates our health or ill health. Understanding our personal vibration which is made up of thoughts, emotions, karma, and ancestral patterns encode and program our bodies with spiritual evolutionary opportunities to grow, evolve, and heal.

There are many books that cover the mind body connection but this book succinctly explains the body's energetic fields and how they interact with the world around and within us. The message of the book is empowering as it offers incredible insights into how we can exercise greater control over our health by attuning ourselves to our higher purpose which can often be hidden behind the secret messages of our thoughts, emotions, and karma.

Each chapter includes many quotes, research findings, and endnotes from the thinkers, scientists, and healers who are studying the vibrational and energetic capabilities of the body.

A must read for those interested in alternative healing modalities and for those wanting to better understand their spiritual anatomy.

This book, on the energy fields of human beings, discussed some interesting ideas. The author referred to an impressive number of scientific studies to support her theories. While much, much more research needs to be done in this area, this book was thought-provoking. However, she lost me on the chakras. Chakras are part of ancient Hindu thought, but they are not part of science. At this point, the book felt like the same old yoga books, instead of an effort to actually think of energy fields in terms of modern science.

The twentieth first century has been a period which we are experiencing a greater influx of energies initiating a new cycle of human existence. It is crucial, in order to acclimatize to these energies, to understand subtle energy. This book, influenced by Theosophy, divides such energy into the following bodies: etheric, emotional, mental and soul. Discuuses chakras, the seven rays of light and the Aquarian Age.

This is a clear and accessible introductory text to esoteric concepts and subtle energetic bodies. I loved that everything had reference materials cited for additional research and exploration on these topics.
