This is a good work book to have if you're feeling a bit disconnected and need to have some comfort as well as work on yourself. The book is well laid out and lets you work through different aspects of yourself and helps you to get to know yourself and be confident within your own skin. There are various activities and things to work through too. On a Kindle this was OK but I'd imagine it would be much better with an actual copy of the book.
I greatly appreciated this workbook as it provided many avenues of self discovery and self realization. I think in our modern day and age we can often lose sight of who we are as individuals and I appreciated that this book helped ground and guide me to a more complete version of myself. I would highly recommend this book!
This is a very motivational book that helps people assess themselves and be better versions of themselves.
People usually get pressurized by social media to such an extent that they compare themselves and have low esteem which make them lose their originality and act accordingly.
It shows details of how social media affects us negatively by making us change our perception on how to act, behave, look, and feel about ourselves.
This is a self-guiding book that helps people to help and improve themselves. This book is recommended to those people who are dealing with these kinds of issues.
I would like to thank the author and net galley for the arc.
As I am currently studying in the area of psychotherapy I was delighted to get an ARC of Finding your authentic self. This is a detailed, practical and thought provoking book., The format is easy to follow and it really promotes self-development.
Let go of the picture-perfect facade and embrace the real you/ This workbook opens the door to self-discovery with over 200 prompts that help you peel back the layers and uncover your true values, strengths, and passions. It's not about disappearing from the world, but about living with intention and ditching the pressure to conform. Think of it as a personal friend group, guiding you towards a more fulfilling and authentic you.
Nice set up for the book. Had a lot of questions that made you think properly about your life and how it's going and where you want to be. I can imagine this can be a very helpful guide for people who are looking for their purpose in life.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This book has some great tips and pointers for realizing your true self. I also enjoyed the various quotes throughout the book as well..
Susan Reynolds writes clearly and with supportive insight. A book that can lead to some powerful reflection.
This is a workbook full of a variety of questions and prompts to help you discover your authentic self. As this is a workbook and you answer the questions in spaces provided on the page, this may be better purchased in hard copy rather than as an ebook. The book is full of useful advice and tips and really gets you to think deeply about who you genuinely are. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in looking past who they think they should be and more towards who they truly are as a person.
As a mental health professional, I'm always on a lookout for good workbooks to recommend to my clients. "Finding Your Authentic Self" hits the spot just right. It's a pleasant, yet challenging journey through self-discovery. Susan Reynolds' questions guide readers through sections on strengths, values, self-compassion or emotions, just to name a few, encouraging an in-depth reflection. Still, the focus remains on the positives, which is very encouraging and empowering.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I found the tips and advice really useful and I love this kind of book. I would highly recommend and I can’t wait for this book to come out! I will definitely be grabbing a copy!!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my digital copy in exchange for an honest review. Every now and then, I like to throw a little nonfiction, self help type books in to the mix...This one sounded like it was right up my alley...but what I forget is that MANY nonfiction books don't turn out well for me on Netgalley...they really need to be paper books that actually show pictures or that you can actually fill out the quiz items for...this was no exception. I think I might have liked it more if that were the case. But I really couldn't interact with the book like it is meant to be dealt with...so for me, it only gets 3 stars.
Finding Your Authentic Self : More than 200 Unique, Focused Writing Prompts and Self-Exploration Exercises. This is a guided workbook that will encourage you to connect with your true self, and away from the 'self' created for social media. In addition to all the self reflective exercises there are uplifting quotes and affirmations and lots of additional and helpful information. It is an interactive book that you can take your time over. Overall a useful and therapeutic guidebook.
A thorough and thought-provoking book, which certainly helped me look inwards to myself.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
Finding Your Authentic Self is an insightful and practical guide filled with thought-provoking questions and journal prompts. The book's layout, divided into sections, allows for a focused, reflective approach. What stands out are the prompts guiding readers to external resources, affirmations, and quotes, enriching the introspective journey. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone seeking guidance or feeling disconnected, although a physical copy is preferable to keep questions and answers together. The structured format and valuable content make it a valuable tool for self-discovery and personal growth.

...And you, just as you are burning with flames
From ideals of mighty, eternal,
That great black fire will be death
You will die when you start alone
Doubt your ideals!
(Moses)
You will die when you start doubting your own ideals! - are famous lines that the great Croatian poet Silvija Strahimir Kranjčević uttered in his poem Mojsije.
When a person succumbs to the doubts of life, when he begins to doubt the values of life and its ideals, when he is overcome by despondency, it is necessary to gather courage and move on... A person's gaze should be fixed on the stars even though he is walking on the earth. Faith teaches him that every limit has its limit, even the limit of death. If a person begins to doubt it, then he is dead even before death...
The truth is that hunger is a global world problem. But humanity is falling into despair because of the hunger for moral norms - for identity. People become visual copies of other people who in turn are someone's copy. Getting to know your own self and feeding it with healthy ideals is the most that a person can do for himself and for others. What is the point of this literary work.
