This is such a cute drawing guide! I’ve been a fan of Bobbie Goods since 2021, so I knew I had to pick this arc up. I loved the different characters, how easy the instructions were, and the cute/quirky writing. I thought it was also cool that in the physical book, there’s a coloring page after each section of instructions. I think this will be great for people of all ages and skill levels!
Do you have an aspiring artist in your family or anywhere nearby? Whatever the age, be it a child or an adult, but someone who wants to draw? Or do you know someone who thinks they don’t know where to start and how to start, yet you suspect they would love to draw? Then this might be the most perfect gift for that person!
What this book is: step-by-step, encouraging, simple, and easy to understand, filled with bite-size lessons on how to draw cute and super cute things.
Super cute and was such a joy to spend time in these pages! I immediately ordered a copy for my daughter’s Christmas.
I read a lot of this sort of book, both for myself and for projects to do with my youngest daughter. This is a good addition to the books already out there but it didn’t particularly appeal to me more than others. Each section starts with a picture of a very busy area in a theme like in the kitchen or art studio, and then each page shows you step by step how to draw items in it like an easel and a chair.
I like that it shows you how to do the actual lines and tells you to use a black pen instead of doing that silly process of draw a circle and then a square and then erase this bit and that bit and change this and erase all that. It will give you a good idea of how to draw basic items, though you can also just look at drawings like these and easily copy them without a how to book.
If you have read other how to draw cute things books, this won’t really offer anything new and I honestly find a lot of them cuter. That said, it’s a good book and will be especially popular with folks who are fans of the artist.
I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review.
This book is adorable. The drawings are so cute and the step by step directions are great. I could see this being a really fun book for kids and young adults. I’m not very good at drawing, but after following the directions I was able to make several cute things. A great gift for the artist in your life!
Delightful little book that does exactly what it says in the title--teaches step-by-step how to draw the most adorable, super cute little things! This would be a great gift for a young child that's getting into drawing and mastering the skills.
Super easy to follow and has a very adorable style. This book lives up to its title. I appreciate the very contrasting colors that were chosen to illustrate the order of the lines and the detailed instructions about what you are doing and why throughout.
Excellent for anyone trying to learn to draw in a cute and cartoonish style.
I've followed this artist's work online for a while now and I was so excited to see a how-to-draw book released! This book does a great job at breaking down some of the cutest drawings into manageable, easy-to-do steps. Very cute and perfect for anyone wanting to emulate this style!
Thank you to Walter Foster Publishing & NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was my first chance to get my hands on one of Bobbie Goods books, and although it was a digital copy I still fell in love!
If you’re looking for something to guide you into becoming more artsy craftsy, this is it! I love that it has coloring pages, and step by step guides that are easy to follow to draw and create. This book will spark creativity not just for me but also will be a fun project to do with my kids!
This book was absolutely adorable. I loved the variety of all of the cute drawing guides and I tried some of them out and they are all super easy to follow along. This book would be perfect for anyone looking to get in some practice on not just doodling but putting together many elements to make a whole scene.
Definitely will be purchasing a hard copy for my nieces.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for providing a review copy :)
Such a cute book! I love it! Thanks to Walter Foster Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Three words; Wholesome, simple and entertaining.
I'm having so much fun creating little illustrations on the style of Bobbie Goods! The simplistic and cute style is not a easy thing for me, but the approachable instructions and kind mindset of this book has made me enjoy the artistic journey way less stressed that I usually do.
I think is a good book for Bobbie's art lovers and for those who are not used to draw.
You get a beautiful illustration follow by step by step instructions to draw some of the objects and characters showed on it. Then, as a plus you have the same illustration to color it yourself!
Since I have this book as an ARC I couldn't paint on it, but I find another fun way of reviewing it! I used those drawing instructions to recreate Bobbie illustrations on Procreate...and let me tell you, not only I managed to pull something cute and quite nice looking whis Bobbie's style, I added my own touch to it, relaxing and enjoying the creative experience, and that, I think, It's the main purpose of this book.
So, yeah...I think this is a solid 5 star book,
A Fun set of exercises for doodling. Great for journaling etc. Very much focused on surface tutorials to copy the authors own work rather than stylistic tips and tricks
This book was fine, I just couldn’t get into it
