I don't always resonate with Jess' delivery, but I picked this up because the title caught my attention. Who among us hasn't been tired of being tired at one point or another? I appreciated the wide range of stories from women in various stages of life, the realistic nature of her solutions and the kind, compassionate heart behind her message. Jess offers hope for those who are exhausted and a path toward better rhythms. I also really like the scripts for graciously saying no.

This book is both practical and hopeful. I am grateful for Jess' straightforward and scripture-backed approach. She even has a quiz to assess which kind of tired you are. By taking time to consider what has you feeling exhausted, there are helpful strategies to approach everything from Sabbath to weekly rhythms to what brings rest to your life. If you are exhausted by life and ready to make changes that will help you find rest for your weary soul, this book is for you.

We are a society that is running on fumes. Everywhere I go, I'm encountering people, especially women who are doing their best but often only able to give so much to everything that is calling for our attention. It can be hard to find time to rest, but Jess does a great job of identifying the different kinds of rest we need, and also giving practical ways for us to find that rest.

I have spent way too many years of my life being tired. As someone who grew up with a “work first, rest last” approach to life, I have been very humbled by the realization that I am now fighting burnout because I never learned to rest well! I enjoyed Jess Connolly discussion on why we live like this and how we can choose a different way. I will read this book again and have already shared with other who I know fight the busyness trap that is so common.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC.

This is THE book on rest. Jess does such a great job of educating the reader on the different types of tired AND offering practical ways to rest. I've been sharing about this with anyone who will listen. The real life stories from other women and Jess' vulnerability and transparency on this topic make the idea of rest so real and tangible.

ARC READ THROUGH NETGALLEY.I did like this book, but I also felt like I didn’t really get anything out of it. To me, it kind of felt like she said things I already knew. However, that being said, I know that as a single teacher, I have a lot less going on than a married mother of three who works for a church plant and also writes books and hosts a podcasts. I have a lot less going on than most people, let’s be honest, so my rate of tiredness is less, especially right now. Maybe I should reread in the heat of the school year and see if my thoughts change.

This book was a breath of fresh air. Jess definitely knows how to write a good book. Rest is something we can all benefit from daily. Not only does Jess teach you how to rest but she teaches you what rest is not. Out of all the books on rest this one is different because she incorporates the gospel. You need this book.

We live in an overstimulated, overbusy, overstressed, overemotional culture. We don’t know how to say “no.” We don’t know how to process emotions. We don’t know how to decompress. And through it all, we are physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally tired.

Aren’t you tired of being tired? I know I am. This book right here has been a practical tool for me. Jess Connolly has given ways we can find the rest that God wants for us. As I continue down my own journey of whole-self health, I know that rest is part of it, and I have to be more intentional about it.

This is a fantastic book, and one that you should read! It challenged me and encouraged me, and I hope it can do the same for you.

Jess’s book helps women identify specific areas where they are tired. Women everywhere are tired and burnt out, and can’t slow down. Being busy is glorified. But it doesn’t need to be this way!

The first third of the book was super refreshing and encouraging for me. It helped me recognize which areas specifically where I am tired and need to slow down and find soul rest. The second third of the book is dragged a bit and I felt I had to force myself to read. The last third was full of practical ways to apply and identify which type of exhaustion is affecting you. All in all, I got lots of little takeaways from this book and will refer back to it in seasons of exhaustion!

As a full time working mom, I’ve hit a busy season and have felt extremely tired. Jess Connolly describes the signs and symptoms of feeling mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally tired and burnt out. She shows us some attainable ways to help prevent fatigue by developing rhythms instead of schedules. In this book, we are able to honestly look deep into our hearts/souls, our relationship with God, and our lifestyles. In doing so, we find ways to help fight the urge our culture has for us to not rest. I encourage anyone who is feeling tired, burnt out, or fatigued to read this book.
