This was cute. Super fast read and I enjoyed the main character. Felt like it could be the first book in a series. I enjoyed the main characters job. It sounded pretty cool. I would read this if it were a series with the same main character.
The Wild Side/ Fern Michaels
5 stars
Melanie Drake, a guidance counselor, goes undercover to bring down some powerful , corrupt men. Her previous career was working for the Office of Special Investigations and Melanie is needed to pose as a high-class escort to infiltrate their meeting in order to get information vital to national security.
Loved the characters. Could not put it down!
The Wild Side by F. Michaels. I'm sitting on this review for quite some time, so how to do the boook justice.
I'm a fan of F. Michaels writing, I love her stories, the plots, the characters.
The Wild Side has not much of these love gained.
The story is confusing. The plot of being a school counselor is dubious at best - instead she tries too much. Makes a circus over nothing.
Not my cup of tea.
This was a fun, exciting story that kept me hooked throughout. I would definitely recommend this for a fun, entertaining story xx
This book is yet another best from Fern Michaels. I loved The Sisterhood series and this story had much the same intrigue and wonderful storytelling.
Its a book you want read cover to cover all at once...
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Maggie is enjoying her peaceful life and working at the local school. Wher her old boss asks for her help, she says yes. This book had many twists and turns and I cant wait to read her next one.
I don't even know what to say about this book. I love Fern Michaels but she has really let me down with The Wild Side. I completed it sure that it would get better; it did not. This is the most convoluted tale I've ever read. It felt like 4-5 books in one:book. By the end, I couldn't stand Melanie Drake (or "Meldrake" as she insisted she be called...dumb). Skip it if you don't like to be frustrated.
Very well written, was interested in the storyline from the beginning. However, the main part of the storyline that drew me to the book fell flat for me, it was almost as if the plot about her going undercover as an escort ended up just being an after thought at the end of the book. I still enjoyed the read, it was slow paced but I wasn’t bored. I was disappointed in the ending. I felt that it fell flat. I think this book had a lot more potential to it but I almost read as if the author got bored with the storyline and decided to just tie it all together and finish writing. It is not my favorite Fern Michaels’ novel but I will definitely continue to read her books as she is one of my favorite authors.
I really enjoy reading Fern Michael’s romantic suspense books. With that said, “The Wild Side” was anything but wild. I kept waiting for something to happen, and when it finally did, it was over so fast, the reader was left wondering if that was all there was. Turns out, that’s all there was. The story follows Melanie, from a precocious child to an intelligence spy with very little intrigue. The character of Melanie was well conceived and crafted, but the story lacked substance. This was my least favorite Fern Michael’s novel, but it certainly won’t keep me from reading everything she publishes. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the advanced copy in return for my unbiased review.
enjoyable read. meldrake was a very fun character and i would be interested in reading more of her adventures. i felt like the backstory was so detailed and interesting, but the last 20% of the book was where the majority of the action (from the book description) happened, and it felt a little rushed. all of her missions at the end of the book could have had so much more detail and been so much more suspenseful. if this turned into a series, i would definitely continue reading it though!
I hope this is going to be a new series. I liked this story. An officer of the law decides to go back to college for a degree to work with kids. This talented author has written a page turner. This is a quick fun read. Realistic likable characters move the story thanks Netgalley
In The Wild Side by Fern Michaels, a seemingly ordinary guidance counselor goes undercover as a high-class escort to bring down a dangerous network of ruthless and powerful men.
I'm not too sure how I would rate this book. I had a difficult time getting through the story. The synopsis sounded promising, but the story fell flat for me. The first half of the book felt like filler information and read like the killer's autobiography.
The best part of the story was the two German shepherds. The plot was just okay; the characters were so-so, and the pacing was slow for me. I normally like reading books by Fern Michaels, but I may not have been the target audience for this book.

Fern Michaels does it again with a new titillating book.
When a former employee of the Office of Special Investigations who has been a guidance counselor for years is called back into service she goes.
This time she must go into the world of dangerous billionaires to gain important intel. To gain entry she goes in as a high priced call girl.
It is a dangerous assignment and should they discover her true identity her very life will be in jeopardy.
This is a fast read that I couldn't put down.
