BroBots is a comic filled with lots of Bro Love. This book collects the 3 volumes into one easy to read volume. It has everything for comic readers: robots, monsters, and puns. The puns are a highlight of this book from "Bro-operate" to "Bro-Struction." This book hits the humor that every kid loves such as a destroyed city they "fix." The added bonus of fairy tales to the story makes this work a little more for younger elementary readers versus older ones. Hand to kids who want fun and funny like The Bad Guys. The book is limited by the "broness" of it and some readers who would prefer a less gendered book will not enjoy this. Overall, a fun read for a collection, but might have a limited audience.
Brobots is one of the cutest homages to the Transformers and mechas genre, where robots may get into large battles. From handling cosplayers to attending their favorite concerts, they have to do it all. The Brobots don't mind, however; they know they can rebuild the city when needed. And we are along for the ride, subverted fairy tales and all.
First, a word of warning: if you find excessive use of the word "bro" annoying, this is not the book for you. Expect a "bro" in most every panel. That minor annoyance aside, this is a fun collection of stories. It's not deep but if you like quirky team adventures (think Fry Guys, Narwhal and Jelly, Rutabaga the Adventure Chef) then give BroBots a read. The stories are simple and easy to follow with a dose of accessible humor. They can be enjoyed by both small children and adult companions. And since it is a collection of stories, it can be read in small doses.
Cute, zany, lightweight, and enjoyable. I could see a family enjoying this together, especially with the combination of silly robots, sibling dynamics, and the importance of familiar fairy tales.
This was a pretty fun graphic novel to read. We see these brothers go on three adventures, each one more dangerous than the last. Along the way they battle some powerful monsters which are difficult to take down. Yet when they work together, they end up finding a way to save the day. Most teens will have a great time reading this graphic novel.
This is a wonderfully silly book. The stories are fun, the art is smooth and slick, and the humor is age-appropriate. This is a fun read with some truly groan-worthy bro puns.
This will not change your life, but it will make you chuckle.
I’m way too old to be part of the target audience for this comic, but even as a kid I would have found the constant bro jokes fairly unfunny and annoying. The art style was alright though.
This book is written for younger readers, with easy to follow dialog and story. It's fun and it's got some silly puns. There is a lot to enjoy in this collection. I especially love the charming artwork.
