Good story, the main character of Bree is very well written. Kinds reminds me of the cop from Fargo, a tough, straight, hardworking policewoman. I really enjoyed this.....kept me guessing right to the end.

Book Title: On Her Watch
Author: Melinda Leigh
Series: Bree Taggert Book #8
Publisher: Montlake
Genre: Mystery Thriller
Pub Date: May 14, 2024
My Rating: 4.4 Stars
Pages: 316

Sheriff Bree Taggert and investigator Matt Flynn are investigating of what appears to be gruesome serial killer.
The bodies of young women have been found by hikers but this isn’t the end as the killings are increasing and women continue to go missing.

I have been following Bree and love that she is caring for her sister’s children. She and Matt are a great team and also great with Kayla and Luke. They truly are a loving family.

I am an avid read especially thrillers and seldom watch TV. I do view the news and am sadden and shocking with the amount of cruelty and hate that is happening in ‘our real’ world..
One of the things I love about Mystery/Thrillers is that the mystery is solved.

Question: Are people becoming more deranged or is it that we are hearing more about that all the
cruelty?
Although this serial killer is into gory details Melinda Leigh is an awesome writer and knows how soften all the nasty horror of this case. Especially when the flu takes over and both Bree and Matt are in full take care mode and are the caregivers Kayla and Luke need. This experience only helps the relationship between Bree and Matt grows stronger. Bree know she needs more help in order to do her job and Matt’s parents come to the rescue.

This is Book #8 in the Bree Taggert series – I did miss two but call myself a fan!
This story was great I am totally amazed that author, Melinda Leigh can come up with such involved stories time after time ~ I just loved her!

Looking forward to the next Bree adventure however right now I need to try to get my heart to stop racing!

Want to thank NetGalley and Montlake for granting me the enjoyment of reading this early eGalley.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for May 14, 2024.

We are reunited with Sheriff Bree Taggert in 𝘖𝘯 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 (Bree Taggert Book 8). When a pair of hikers found 3 bodies, all possibly female, Bree knew she might have a serial killer on the loose. As more young women went missing, Bree and her family's safety were threatened. Would Bree and Matt Flynn, her boyfriend and investigator, be able to uncover the link between the victims before more women die?

This is a spine-chilling psychological thriller. I am always a fan of the 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘵 series and this is no exclusion. In fact, I personally feel that the books in this series get better as they advance.

The plot grips you from the very beginning and it is fast paced. The plot twists and suspense are well written and the major reveal isn't disappointing. I have always loved the dynamics between Bree and Matt and it's really nice to see their relationship developing well.

It's safe to say that author Melinda Leigh has earned a spot as one of my favourite authors on my shelf. I look forward to more of her books and I hope the 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘵 series won't end soon.

Thank you @netgalley, Montlake Publishing and not to forget the author herself, Melinda Leigh for this ARC. All opinions are solely my own and are not biased in any way. This book will be available on May 14th, 2024

This was a fantastic read. Tons of action and suspense. My favorite kind of book. It has a good angst factor. We get to see more of Matt and his alpha side. I enjoyed reading this book so much. I was glued to the pages. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Couldn’t wait to read this book and was not disappointed. Although I love the dynamics of the characters and feel like I know them, the suspense and action is what keeps me coming back to this series. Bree Taggert is a force to be reckoned with despite the obstacles thrown at her throughout her life. #netgalley #onherwatch

Melinda Leigh is one of my favorites and I am always excited for her next installments with my favorite characters. Bree and Matt are back and trying to solve the next murder mystery to hit their town. I love that these pick right up where the last story ended and continue to bring us into their world and story.

Does Bree have a serial killer on her hands? After three bodies are found in the woods Bree and Matt race to solve the case before the killer can strike again. Melinda Leigh does a good job, as always, of keeping you guessing until the end and mixing in just the right amount of love story.

I am so pleased I have found this author and get excited when a new book is released. This is a great chapter of the Bree taggart series but could easily be read as a standalone. More books please!!

5* This tale starts at a pace that doesn't let up until the end. Sooo glad Bree's still around.

Even though the Bree Taggart series has ended, these are practically BT books, just with a few additions and slightly less focus on family, now that Bree has settled a tad more into being both guardian to her nephew and niece, and LEO. Despite her only just being married, there's no time for a honeymoon as as usual, she's involved in a storyline that starts with a bang, and gets more and more complicated.

There's a lot happening with the case, and with Bree's family being threatened (which doesn't slow her down, as Adam's around, as is good old Dana) and the pace doesn't let up. There's enough red herrings that I totally missed the baddie getting a mention, and said mention was low key enough that nothing twigged. Thankfully there's more BT tales to come in 2024 and 2025, with all available on pre-order. I just one-clicked all.

ARC courtesy of Montlake Publishing and NetGalley, for my reading pleasure.

oh how I love this series! it just get better and better. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.

We start with most of her department out with the flu. She is on a domestic call when it is reported that 2 hikers found a body. Bree and Matt head to that scene and discover not 1 body, but 2 and the bones of another.
From here it is a race to stop what appears to be a serial killer. This was very well written and I really liked seeing more of Matt's parents, and his sister.
I really enjoy the way Ms. Leigh has written Bree. Strong and sure of herself, but not afraid to let others in. The partnership between Bree and Matt is great, both working and personal.
I hope we see Bree for a long time and I will be ready to read each and every one.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this series just keeps getting better and better with each book. On Her Watch is book number 8 in the series from Sheriff Bree Taggert and Investigator Matt Flynn. When hikers discover the body of a young woman in the woods, Bree brings in the canine unit to secure the area only to discover two more bodies. During their investigation, one of the victim’s friend goes missing and another young woman disappears leaving Bree and Matt stretched thin to find them alive and hunt down a serial killer.

Bree and Matt are perfect together and I love the family unit they’ve created with Bree’s niece and nephew. They all continue to grow and heal individually and together and their futures are promising.

Thank you @melindaleigh1 @amazonpublishing and @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

On Her Watch by Melinda Leigh Book 8 in the Bree Taggert Series which keeps getting better and better. A fast paced police procedural with some very creepy and nasty murders and an total evil serial killer. The core group of characters including the lovely dogs, are still evolving with their connection to each other and the deputies in Bree's office. Awaiting another installment of this entertaining and well written series.

Bree is back baby and how!! Whoop whoop…. The moment I received the ARC I made a little happy dance as I love the Bree Taggert series. This is book 8 in the series. The books in the series can be read as stand-alone, but to get more of the background stories I recommend reading the whole series and I’m (almost) sure you won't regret it.

I have some weird love for Melinda Leigh her books. The plot is always predictable for me (probably for seasoned Thriller and Crime/Mystery readers as well), but…her character-building is just sublime. Not only do you feel connected to the very strong FMC sheriff Bree Taggert but you also develop a deep love for the other characters. The chemistry between Bree and Matt is flying off the pages and the kids are just aaaww and you feel for them. I think that Melinda nailed the feeling for a woman to juggle family life and work. Even tho Bree has to go to work, she feels bad leaving her kids while they need her as well. Although the plot was a bit predictable for me, the well-built tension, suspense, the twists and turns gripped me and made me turn the pages. The story touched on some real-life issues and I think that is what makes you invested in the story as you can easily relate and feel for the characters. A must-read for any crime/mystery fan who also enjoys a romantic subplot. A 4.5-star book for me rounded up on good reads.

This is the 8th book in the Bree Taggert series and I think the books keep getting better and better! The author has an amazing ability to keep the reader on the edge of the seat and guessing who the culprit is. These books are nearly impossible to put down until you’re at the end. In this book the sheriff’s office is short staffed because of an influenza outbreak, and when several bodies are found in the woods wrapped in tarps the few officers who are well are called on to find who killed them. This book could be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the series from the beginning. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.
