What initially drew me to this book was the incredible cover art and intriguing title! This book pulls you in from the cover alone! As I began the book, it didn’t take me long to realize that I wasn’t going to be able to put it down! ‘Love Letters To A Serial Killer’ is a page turning mystery thriller that keeps readers engaged as the plot thickens. With the letters mixed in with the story it keeps the reader guessing as Hannah herself discovers more and more. I read this book in three hours and didn’t stop once! The characters all feel realistic and Hannah’s descent into the true crime made me worried (incredible character development and writing!). I’m not a huge true crime fan but I was able to find enjoyment in this book! If you are a fan of the genre, I would definitely recommend it!

This might have just been me, but I couldn’t get into this story. I didn’t like the main character at all.

Love Letters to a Serial Killer is a quirky look at our modern obsession with serial killers. If you need a flawed character to be a likeable anti-hero that you can root for despite their flaws, then you may be frustrated with this book. I don't need to "like" the characters to enjoy a book, but that's not how everyone operates so go in knowing that piece of information. This book will be divisive which is my favorite type of book to choose for a book club. Out now.
Thank you to Berkley Publishing and Netgalley for the electronic copy.

3.75. This was a very fun read. Not the biggest plot twist but I was engaged the entire time. I thought I found the main character Hannah annoying and unlikable and then I realized that I am more like Hannah than I’d like to admit. I too have hyper fixations that aren’t healthy for me but Hannah took hers a step further and sent the letter to the alleged serial killer and I just have to say that I get it.

I was in a reading slump for a couple of weeks before deciding it was time to read this book that's been on my netgalley shelf.
I finished it in one go.
The suspense, the mystery, the electric charge between people and the twist and turns that happen really had me floored. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Thank you Tasha for this masterpiece

Thanks to Tasha Coryell, Berkley Publishing Group, and NetGalley for an ARC of this Love Letter to a Serial Killer! I enjoyed getting to read this and give my honest review!
This was different from a lot of books I’ve read lately- part rom com, part thriller and wholly a wild ride. I really wasn’t sure what to expect with this one and overall found it enjoyable!
I really liked the humor in this book. It’s darkly funny, and I found myself laughing within the first few pages. I thought the author did a good job of keeping the reader unsure of who was guilty and who was innocent. There were times I was questioning just about anyones innocence. Also, being from Minnesota, I enjoyed reading a book with so many references to it! It was so fun to see things like hotdishes come up on page!
Unfortunately, I struggled with the momentum of this one. The pacing felt a bit slow in the middle and there were some elements that didn’t feel quite necessary to the story. While our narrator’s quirks and eccentricities were enjoyable for the majority of the book, and I get (at least I think) she is supposed to be somewhat unlikeable, there were times where I was more annoyed than intrigued.
Overall, it was a fun read and I think if it had been a little shorter I would have enjoyed it a bit more. It was definitely unique and not like many other books, so I’m glad I had the opportunity to read it!

This book was very fun. Once I started I didn’t want to stop and kept sneaking away to read chapters, walking the streets of NYV holding my kindle (whoops). I mean the characters were all untreatable let’s be real but also weirdly relatable ? Haha, like we all wanna be accepted but like usually just not be a serial killer you know ? The silly romance thrown in was fun. I will say it’s easy to pick up on who the actual killer is, but I don’t care it was just overall such a fun ride.

Thanks Berkley for the free book!
Hannah is delulu but you can’t blame a girl for trying given her experience in the regular dating pool. This was a fun mystery thriller to read and put you in the mindset of what those girls must be thinking when they’re lusting after the accused serial killers and even going as far as to attend their trials.
Hannah is desperate and insecure but given how guys have treated her in the past it’s not really a surprise why. She’s chosen wrong and just wants to be loved and cared for. She just has a uh…rather interesting approach about it. Trying to find a purpose, she joins a crime forum and finds out that this guy William has been accused of murdering these girls and dumping their bodies in a ravine. Feeling there’s no harm, she starting writing him. Thing is…he writes back. The two form a relationship through letters and he even goes as far as to ask her to be his girlfriend (which was wild but go off I guess).
But once William is acquitted and they actually spend one on one time together, she feels something missing (when is he going to off her, not just get her off) and she realizes she craves something a little darker. Also that twist on the last page!!!
And I called who the killer was going to be. Wasn’t much of a surprise but still fun…. And again, kind of wild but also lines up given the kinks she finds out about herself.

Overall I enjoyed this book and it kept my attention the entire time. Very interesting topic and the main character I loved and hated at times because of the decisions she made throughout the book. I kept wondering who the real serial killer was and how the story was going to play out. The story wrapped up nicely but with some questions for sure. Pick it up if you are looking for a good quick summer book! Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the ARC of this book!

yes i read this in a day.
no i don’t know what to think about it.
other than what the HECK did i just read.
i got this as an arc and just finished it sorry for being behind netgalley

Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for this copy of "Love Letters to a Serial Killer."
This book was so good! I couldn't stop reading because I had to find out what happened to Hannah, who feels so unappreciated, unseen, and unheard that she's at least superior to an alleged serial killer, isn't she?
Working with online groups to solve the murders of several girls all found in a ravine gives her meaning and purpose, but when the killer is caught, she has nothing left in her life.
So she writes him a letter to tell him that. And then he writes back. And they fall in love. And she goes to his trial to see him. But there's no chance she'll ever get to meet him because he's guilty, right?
It was dark, fun, exciting, fast-paced, suspenseful, and I'm hoping to read more from author Coryell.

This book was unique! Hannah is obsessed with a true crime case. I am sure many of us who follow true crime can relate. 😅 I will warn you though, Hannah is not likable. She is a bit off the chain. Hannah is one of those women who falls in love with a killer. The one who always has us scratching our head like how does that happen?
Overall, I enjoyed this one and the audio was great!

I wanted to read this book as SOON as I saw the title! And I can say that it did not disappoint! I found myself often shaking my head at how delulu the MFC was! But it made her even more interesting to read about. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!

This cover is stunning 🤩 unfortunately, the story itself is not so much… I had such high hopes and really wanted to love this with the concept.
I’m so bummed I didn’t like this the way I wanted to. The idea of a “romance” between a character falling in love with a serial killer after sending notes to each other had me invested.
The plot was so lackluster that I kept eye-rolling. Hannah was such a frustrating character to deal with, I get the point was probably for her to be unreliable - but my gosh was she so unrealistic.
I wouldn’t really consider this a “thriller” or “romance”. I don’t know where I would place it genre-wise. I do think the true crime aspect was fun and unique though - perfect for fans of that!
Thank you so much NetGalley and Berkley for the review copy in exchange for my honest review!

Readers are either going to feel uncomfortably seen or uncomfortably appalled by Tasha Coryell's Love Letters to a Serial Killer Coryell's MC, Hannah, is awkward, has no idea what she wants out of life (which leads to plenty of poor decisions), and has such a low self-esteem that I couldn't help but find myself identifying with her to a certain degree. Hannah is openly honest in her inner monologues, oftentimes outwardly portraying one thing but confirming the worst about herself and what others think about her internally. Coryell lays out the hypocrisies and conundrums of early adulthood and womanhood in a way that was raw enough to make me uncomfortable through each chapter. This isn't really a suspense or thriller (it isn't that hard to figure out the plot twists if you're paying close-enough attention) but it was a tense ride on a rollercoaster of a MC who is a relatable hot mess that will likely make readers confront aimlessness, loneliness, envy, and restlessness in their own thoughts and lives.
**Thank you, NetGalley and publishers, for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.**

Huge thank you to @prhaudio @berkleypub @berittalksbooks @thephdivabooks @dg_reads and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. This audiobook definitely had me entertained!

This book is straight up b-a-n-a-n-a-s !
Hannah, oh Hannah where do I even start? She is not focused in life except when it comes to writing an alleged serial killer. She spends all her time on a true crime forum and decides to write the handsome William and tell him
how he deserves the death penalty but slowly, letter by letter she finds herself falling for a man behind bars. She befriends other crime junkies and soon finds herself giving up her job, home and normal life to attend trial every day. When a new woman is found murdered everything changes and she has to find out if she is truly safe. When it comes to serial killers no one is safe.
.

This was a wild ride narrated from the unhinged mind of a hot mess woman who is aimlessly navigating a mediocre life until one day she learns of a murder that quickly turns into a series of murders. After obsessing over the murders, going deep in serial killer investigation forums, when the killer is caught, she soon turns her obsession to him. She starts writing him letters to vent her frustrations about life and he unexpectedly writes back. Through their correspondence she falls in love with the accused serial killer and takes a road trip to be physically present for his trial as her reality spirals down a dark hole. She’s not the most likable of characters, but I think that is to be expected to find the type of person that falls in love with a murderer, however, I really enjoyed the dialogue in her head. There was a sort of sadness to this psychological suspense when looking at the reality of this pathetic life choices and low self-esteem, but she definitely had character and this made for a very entertaining read.

Dark. Weird. Cringy. This is definitely a memorable book! Sad commentary on our obsession with true crime /romance/mystery/thriller - I'm not sure how to classify this book. it was definitely a pageturner and I enjoyed it!

This is such a unique book premise and it was kinda fascinating to see the perspective of someone who writes letters and falls in love with a suspected serial killer.
Hannah becomes obsessed with a true crime case and follows along with others on a message board. She decides to write him a letter and they become pen pals. So she decides to head across the country to Georgia and be there for the trial.
This was the most deranged book. I couldn't put it down because it was like watching a train wreck. Hannah was the queen of bad choices but I couldn't look away. This was a fun book and I had to keep reading to see what horrible choices she would make next.
Love Letters to a Serial Killer comes out on Tuesday - June 25th!

Thank you @berkleypub @prhaudio for my complimentary audio and digital copies. My thoughts are my own.
WHAT DID I JUST READ?!!! Judging by the cover, I thought this would be a romance, but it turned out to be a DARKLY COMEDIC THRILLER, and in the most delightful way!
When thirty-something Hannah finds herself at lose ends she impulsively writes to a man awaiting trial for multiple murders. To her surprise, he writes back to her, and they continue writing. The story gets crazier from there!
I don’t want to reveal any spoilers, so that is all I will say! But be ready for a wild roller coaster ride with the CRAZIEST, most UNHINGED female main character I read about in quite awhile! I could NOT put this one down! I found myself laughing out loud, and totally puzzled at the same time by the inexplicable mindset of Hannah!
I had my suspicions about a few things, but I was totally unprepared for the ending! I’m not sure I liked the ending, but it was perfect for Hannah!
Thriller lovers, PLEASE treat yourself to this book!
