One of the most interesting and controversial apocryphal religious texts not included in the official Bible, for me, is the Book of Enoch; and R.H. Charles’ translation, review, analysis, and comprehensive collection, “The Books of Enoch—The Complete and Original Edition, that also includes The Book of Jasher and The Book of Jubilees,” is a fascinating and compelling read about the apocryphal visions received by this great, great, great, great grandson of Adam who purportedly lived 365 years.

Enoch is attributed with writing books about numerous dream visions that he had. These included God’s punishment for the fallen angels who mated with women on earth; promises for the righteous; visions of God’s glory; sightings of the New Jerusalem; and many more.

From the Biblical Book of Genesis we learn of Enoch’s spiritual faithfulness, “Enoch walked with God; and he was not; for God took him.” This means that at the end of his long life that he ascended into heaven to be with God—which is pretty amazing. If we can interpret this as it is presented, Enoch was a man that God admired and highly appreciated. So, perhaps Enoch’s dream visions were some, like Joseph’s in Egypt, that were God-sent and carry important messages for everyone even today…?

When I first received this but I couldn’t wait to die then and read all the strange and mystical things I’ve heard about being in this book I was surprised when I got to the second book Jasher in red so many things I already knew or knew about these books are really good I am not a person into religious studies and have a big interest in ancient texts and these apocryphal tales we’re right up my alley I truly enjoyed them and think anyone with a passing interest in our most ancient history and or religious studies will enjoy them. It is a definitely interesting read I also think those who are in to stories about demons the Nephilim and things of that nature what also enjoyed the books of Enoch maybe not jubilee but definitely the first three books which are the books of Enoch. I find stuff like that so very interesting so was happy to receive the sp arc who is even happier to read it and now recommend it. I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I love reading books of the Bible that are not apart of known accepted works. This will be a book I read more than once and I am glad to have it in my library.
