This series has NOT fallen victim to the second book slump. An amazing follow up that just keeps giving everything you want it to.
As this has been archived, I'll be reading this book on KU and will post my review once I have finished.
This arc archived right after I received it so I wasn’t able to download it in time. I would love to be able to review this but I haven’t had the chance to read it, and I’ll need to purchase a copy to do that. I’m hoping to give this series a read soon!
I really enjoyed this book. I can’t wait to read more by this author. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me the chance to read.
Book 2 picked up right where book 1 left off. I am obsessed with this series and can't wait to read book 3!!! Thank you, Netgalley for the chance to read and review this title.
Amazing overall read, I loved the book, characters and the writing as much as I loved the storyline. One for the books... lol I would certainly recommend Briar's books to other book lovers.
I had a blast with Court of Claws! The world keeps expanding in exciting ways, especially with the Siabra making their debut.
Kairos really grew on me this time around. We dive deeper into his backstory, and while he's still a bit mysterious, his motives started to make sense. The reason this didn’t quite hit 5 stars for me was Morgan’s occasional over-the-top reactions. Her stubbornness is part of her charm, but sometimes she was just too frustrating—like she’d shut down rather than seek answers. I found myself wanting to shake her a bit! 😂 Still, I like her overall, just not as much as in the first book.
On the bright side, Morgan and Kairos have great chemistry. Their banter and interactions were a highlight. I also enjoyed meeting new characters and discovering different types of fae. Here’s hoping the next book keeps up the trend!
Court of Claws definitely turned up the steam compared to Queen of Roses, and it looks like Empress of Fae will be even hotter. This series is a dark fantasy romance, so if that’s your jam, dive in. It’s not super dark in my opinion, but definitely check the trigger warnings if you’re sensitive to that.

If you’re into high fantasy, fae, and steamy romance, this series is worth a read. Thanks to NetGalley and Briar Boleyn for the copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own! 🌟📚✨
Court of Claws Briar Boleyn is an epic fantasy with a fantastic narrative and compelling characters. I enjoyed reading it.
This does everything a second book should, set up for an epic war. There were a couple of things that I didn't like as a reader, such as the miscommunication trope and I wanted the slow burn to turn into a raging fire a bit quicker. I'm getting some ACOTAR vibed from this one but unfortunately, I found the characters started to grate on me quite a bit, especially Morgan our FMC.
I enjoy the world building in this series, but unfortunately it's just not grabbing me at the moment & I don't have that drive to keep reading which is a real shame. I know loads of the reviews are fantastic so I'm planning to leave it for now & try again another time.
Bit slow and hard to stay engaged. Frustrated with FMC immaturity and lack of confidence/leadership/assertiveness. Already submitted feedback to this publisher previously.
This book is an excellent follow on from the first in the series.
I was thoroughly invested right from the beginning and was so excited to immerse myself back in Boleyn’s world.
The characters are so well-written, each having their own strengths and vulnerabilities that make them so relatable.
The writing is extremely engaging and leaves you wanting more.
Thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing me with this arc
Briar Boleyn’s “Court of Claws” is an enthralling and imaginative tale that effortlessly blends elements of fantasy, romance, and intrigue. This book captures the reader’s attention from the very first page and holds it until the satisfying conclusion.
The world-building in “Court of Claws” is exceptional. Boleyn crafts a richly detailed and immersive setting that feels both familiar and refreshingly unique. The intricate descriptions of the court and its various factions bring the world to life, creating a vivid backdrop for the story’s events.
The characters are one of the book’s standout features. The protagonist is compelling and multifaceted, displaying a mix of strength, vulnerability, and determination that makes them easy to root for. The supporting cast is equally well-developed, each with their own distinct personalities and motivations that add depth to the narrative. The dynamic relationships and political maneuverings within the court are particularly well-handled, providing plenty of tension and drama.
The plot of “Court of Claws” is well-paced, with a good balance of action, suspense, and character development. The story unfolds with a series of twists and turns that keep the reader engaged and guessing. While some plot points are somewhat predictable, the overall narrative remains captivating and satisfying.
Boleyn’s writing style is fluid and engaging, with a lyrical quality that enhances the fantasy elements of the story. The dialogue is sharp and natural, and the emotional beats are handled with care, making the reader feel deeply connected to the characters and their journeys.

I'm not sure how it passed me to forget to make the review here, but I finished this series some time ago. So I'll be pasting the same review on the series. I LOVED IT. Couldn't put it down honestly. I loved Boleyn writing style and the way that she wrapped me up in her world.
Waking in the Siabra empire after coming very close to death, Morgan is frustrated, taken advantage of and just wants to go home but the man she seems tk hate the most, Draven, will not let her leave... for her own safety or his own hidden motives.
I loved how easily this book flowed from the first one, there was no adjustment to be made when we left off from Queen of Roses. The newer characters we meet are so unique and I really liked Crescent and Odessa, they are the brother and sister duo tasked with keeping Morgan safe and guarding her every move. And Avriel, I loved to hate him!!!
The characters internal battles felt so real, there is so many unanswered questions that I'm sure we'll learn the answers to as the series continues. I do think that some chapters could have been a lot shorter, the size of the book was a bit daunting and I found myself putting it off on a few occasions because it felt like there was sooo much left.
I would have liked to see more tension in the final scene in the arena and a much bigger fight between Morgan and Avriel. Somehow I don't think he's dead that easy and the Queen Regent, there's a lot more to her story. Although this series is a retelling of sorts, I do think it's very high fantasy and there's politics involved that we need to keep track of.
I would recommend this series to all the fantasy readers out there who like Sarah J Maas and Carissa Broadbent style reads. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book!
This series continues to impress me. I'm just loving it. It goes.from strength to strength.
Morgan was quite testy to say the least in this book. But considering all she's been through its hardly surprising she would be prickly.
I loved finding out more about Draven and also meeting new characters. I'm looking forward to finding out what Arthur has been up to and how Kaye is.
4🌟 Book 1 of the Blood of a Fae series starts off right where Book 1 left off. This story is just as action packed as the first and I devoured all of it! I can’t wait to continue the series, especially after the cliffhanger this book ended on. This is becoming a new fave fantasy series for me!
Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the eARC of Court of Claws by Briar Boleyn in exchange for my honest review.
I received this book for free for an honest review from netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity
Great start to a fantasy series.
Whist I appreciate that NetGalley and the publisher provided me with arcs of these books, I will not be sharing my thoughts in full, as I saw that the Amazon listing for this series used AI generated images. Generative AI is theft, and I refuse to support any creators who indulge in it or endorse it.
This was my second read through, and I LOVED it just as much this time as I did the first time.
This diverged from the sword in the stone story that the series 'sort of' followed.
This is an excellent series, read them all.
