What a great installment to the series. I really felt like Morgan grew up in this book. Her and Draven were so heart eyes and I loved his POV this book. I wish we had gotten more of it. This book was a lot of political intrigue but definitely still had some action and spice. I can't wait to read the next one!

Thank you to the author for this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review.

This was one of those books I couldn't put down, but didn't want to finish because it meant it was over. In the third installment of Brief Boleyn' s Camelot series Morgan and Draven work to reunite and save Camelot from Arthur. I absolutely cannot wait to see how the new knights of the round table continue their story in book 4!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Starwater Press for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

“Morgan Pendragon has another name now: Morgan Le Fay. As her true heritage slowly emerges from the mists of the past, Morgan renounces one possible future and vanishes through a portal–returning to Camelot and the Rose Court where her friends and younger brother lie in mortal peril from Arthur's cruel wiles.”

Empress of Fae is a great read from start to finish. The story proceeds directly after the ending of book 2: Court of Claws without missing a beat. We find ourselves back in the once familiar setting of Camelot… except this time the Kingdom of Pendrath is in complete disarray. The story is teeming with strife and the complexities of politics, rebellions, alliances, and survivalism. The pacing is more moderate, the tone is darker and more emotional, and the stakes are still just as high if not higher. It’s a well blended mix of drama and adventure that flows rather seamlessly.

What I loved most about Empress of Fae is the fact that Morgan’s character truly evolves as she begins to understand + acknowledge her actions, her regrets, her worth, and her true desires in this more mature version of herself. Especially in regards to Draven. It was nice to see that these two finally seemed to have reached an equal footing which allowed their bond to strengthen even while an ocean separated them. They had some truly touching moments (chapters 16 and 22!!) that tugged at my heartstrings.

Unlike the first two books, book 3 is written with dual POV’s, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Given that the two MC’s, Morgan and Draven, are separated it was a necessary divergence that allowed us to keep up with both characters as the plot continued to unfurl. It also allowed for more of an emotional connection to Draven as we were able to see a bit more clearly into his thoughts + his unwavering love and determination to reunite with Morgan.

The last third of the book doesn’t pull any punches. Thankfully the ending doesn’t have a cliffhanger like its predecessors… it even has an air of finality to it. ALMOST. In truth, it feels like the deep, deep breath before the plunge. My intrigue surrounding the magic systems of the Fae continue to heighten the more we see of it so I’m hoping it factors heavily in the next installment. The webs have been woven with so many possibilities and so many things at stake that I can’t wait to read book 4 next year!

Summary: An absolutely solid read in the ‘Blood of a Fae’ series. As the third book, it's more complex in its story telling, as it mingles power struggles and political intrigue. The darker tone woven throughout the story doesn’t hold back and brings the emotion as swift as a slap to the face. The side characters abound, both new and old and it was nice to see an amalgamation of two worlds. The spice is present and there’s a deeper connection between Morgan and Draven that is very swoon worthy, I really do love them together. The last third of the book is just an absolute ride, I can’t wait for the next book. Trigger warnings are present again and I do recommend checking them out beforehand if you feel you may be susceptible.

Loved it! I was skeptical at first, expecting it to be another Court of/Queen of blah blah blah formulaic style book but I am thrilled that I was 100% wrong. Highly recommend for fans of ACOTR and the SJM books. Excellent world building and character development. I can't wait to read the next one.

Empress of Fae picks up where we left off. Our main characters are separated and both trying to figure out their next steps. Morgan must figure out what has been happening in Camelot. There are new characters, old favorites, and lots of drama! The first bit took a bit for me, but that was time establishing where things stood. Things really started to pick up and then that last 15% omg. I'm a sucker for a mate bond and this took a fun spin on that. Oh, and the villains are super villainy. Like wow.

I had forgotten that this was not the final book, and the 4th will come out in March! I can't wait to see how things go with the big bad.

This is book 3 in the series and the final one that is out for now.. you have to start with Queen of Roses. Then you must read Court of Claws before reading Empress of Fae.

This whole series caught me off guard with how amazing it has been! I honestly can’t rave enough about it. When I heard it was a King Arthur retelling I personally wasn’t too thrilled, because I didn’t think it would be anything I was interested in. Boy was I wrong!! This book is by far my favorite in the series and I absolutely CANNOT wait for book 4 to be released.

Okay, I loved it. I'm invested in the FMC and MMC. I have so many questions about the mythos of some of the side characters and how it'll all come together.

I absolutely can't wait for the final book. It cannot come soon enough!

Thanks again to Briar, Netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op. I reviewed this book as an ARC and am leaving my opinion honestly and freely.

This is the third book in the series it's not a standalone so must be read in order and there are four books in total. I'm not sure why I was convinced this was a trilogy it isn't as there's still one more to come but I was then thankful this didn't end on a massive cliffhanger. I'm content to wait for my closure though I still hope it's not too long.

This continues where we left off directly in the aftermath of Morgan running away through the gate and destroying any chance of Draven following after her. On this journey, she reluctantly acquires a companion as Javier wallowing in guilt takes it upon himself to acquire redemption by pledging his devotion to Morgan. Not that she is thrilled by this turn of events as her feelings towards him are still extremely complicated. Camelot is in uproar and it's immediately apparent to Morgan that Arthur has devolved and spiraled even further in her absence. She can no longer make excuses for her brother and knows he needs to be stopped.

We have some new enemies on the horizon including Fenyx the lord general and new right-hand man of Arthur and we also get to discover more about Morgan and her background. We get to see some old faces and discover more about new players. This one is heavy on political intrigue as Morgan is forced to play the game of courts gathering information and playing spymaster to assist the rebellion and thwart her brother.

What I especially liked here was how Morgan seems to have evolved as a person she wasn't so judgmental and seemed to have matured in her thought process. It was like she had turned an important corner and she finally seemed to comprehend just how fortunate she was to have Draven's regard. She also recognised her overreaction and expressed her regret regarding her initial knee-jerk reaction.

Draven, as usual, was perfect and moved heaven and earth to reach Morgan and this wasn't an easy feat as Morgan's prior actions had prevented him from following directly so he did it the old-fashioned way across sea and land all whilst terrified he wouldn't reach her in time and i did finally feel these two were on the same page and they had some truly heartwarming moments together.

This one also doesn't pull its punches and we had some truly shocking and heart-wrenching moments, my heart was in my mouth here on numerous occasions especially as this approached its climax. This also had a darker tone than its predecessors and I was transfixed at the finish here.

This was a five-star read all the way and I enjoyed it immensely. It's dual POV and I felt we got to know Draven emotionally here. It was again well written and such an easy engrossing read and I'm highly anticipating the finish now and having all of my many questions finally answered. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Empress of Fae.

Once again, very impressed by Briar Boleyn and this amazing world she has created. This third installment really ramped up the stakes, introduced a few new characters, and started bringing everyone towards the pinnacle of the story. Love it, and can not wait for the next installment!

I was interested to see where this book would take us since there were some twists when Morgan returned to Pendrath at the end of the previous book. There’s a lot of danger and politics afoot and it was great to see the bravery of the women in particular in this book, and the sacrifices made for the cause, but it was frustrating to also see repeating patterns with Morgan and terrible, powerful men. We saw this in the first book and it felt like it had been done before.

I liked the way in which Morgan and Draven are connected despite the distance between them and I’m intrigued to see how the new sinister character introduced in this book will play into the story in the next book. It promises a lot more power plays and political battles after that ending!

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

Picking up right were we left of.
Worldbuilding is still keeping up. A little less development on the side characters.
Big revelations for Morgan though.

I really love this writingstyle.

With some side characters i had a feeling there was a missed opportunity. Some were really valuable to the story but weren’t explored and explained enough.

It read a bit slower than the first to books in my opinion. I would have liked the suspense of the second half more throughout the book and not just the ending.

The ending wrapped up this part of the journey very nicely. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Ps: i want an exmoor !

The third book in this series takes us back to the intrigue and danger of Camelot. Morgan has to navigate her way through a court at war, as Draven pulls together his army to come to her aid. The pace is fast and engaging. The connection between Morgan and Draven drives this book and is very heartwarming, although I am not a fan of the 'mates' trope. I was also not a huge fan of the Lancelet and Guinivere chapters, which I think added some unnecessary melodrama. The bad guys also became more one dimensional. Sexual assault as a weapon of war is also a prominent theme, so readers must be aware. I think books that require trigger warnings should include them in the description and also at the beginning of the text, especially for ebooks where it is more difficult to scroll to the end.

I mistakenly thought this series was a trilogy and expected this to be the conclusion, but there will clearly be at least one more book. This book continues to unravel Morgan's lineage, laying what I presume is the groundwork for the next book. I was pleased with the resolution of this book and the way the author hints at what comes next.

I’m a little disappointed, disappointed that I haven’t read the first two books I am absolutely sucked into this book. It is extremely easy to follow and it’s the third series , my son name is Draven, and I’m absolutely intrigued, that one of the main characters in this book is named Draven my favorite chapter so far is Guinevere absolutely stunning, chapter chefs kiss not only did it make me cry, but it made me think an I absolutely love that in a fantasy book

While diving further into Draven’s court and storyline, the legend of King Arthur moves along. With new magical beings and more mates, book three is a whirlwind. Briar Boleyn dives further into the story and provides a storyline that sucks the reader in. I didn’t want to leave. I’m incredibly sad I have to wait so long for book four, but I’ll be keeping updated so I can get the book as soon as it is out.

So much happened in this book, I felt like I was constantly guessing who was trustworthy, or was playing both sides, were there just two sides? Was everyone playing their own agenda??
I loved the way the hints and foreshadowing was laid out, leaving enough uncertainty to keep you guessing and undecided throughout the book.
I can't wait for book four for what will undoubtedly be an epic conclusion to this series!
I also loved the authors note explaining the story behind a certain element of the book. I felt this was handled really well by the author.

ARC reader for NetGalley

I keep getting blown away by the exceptional story writing within this series. Yes, some of the happenings are very dark, many things are in war with corrupt and evil men. All in all it is such an amazing piece of storytelling. Action packed, lovable (and detestable) characters. It’s an incredible twist on Arthurian legend. I can’t wait to get my hands on the conclusion!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and or the author of giving me the chance to read and review The Empress of Fae.

I was on the edge of my seat while reading this book. Love everything from the characters to the plot.

The author out did themselves with this book.

This is the best one of this series. The writing was sharp and detailed which was really amazing to read. This book is a lot more dark and twisted and it really moves the plot along nicely. Morgan is stuck back in Camelot after making a stupid choice of running a way from Draven. While she now is accepting of her mate she is now tasked to help overturn her brother’s reign. Morgan also needs to get back Excalibur and the grail before Arthur starts to use them. These siblings are a mess and are causing just straight up chaos. I do really like Kaye and Morgan still having an amazing relationship and I will be devastated if he does die. Draven and Morgan spend most of the story away from each other but meet in a dream like world where they have their sexy moments together. I would love more Draven pov but also just more chances to see their relationship together now moving forward. I hope not every time they are together they are just going to sleep with each other. I’d love for us to get more conversations with them that grow their connection besides them being physical. Overall I was so happy with this one and can’t wait to read book 4!

After jumping through a fae arch, Morgan is Finally back in Camelot and is horrified to learn how bad things are. Arthur is losing the war and it is his people suffering while he hides in the castle with a new pregnant wife. Merlin is using the temple to lead a rebellion. They want Morgan to go back into the castle and become a spy and try to find Excalibur. Meanwhile Draven is crossing the ocean to get to her, bringing the army he promised her to help stop Arthur.

Well this story took a dark twist. Gotta say this author is really good at making you hate her characters. Like holy hell Fenyx was such a monster, it was satisfying reading his end. And with Arthur, jesus. I'm writing this just as I finished the story and my feelings about him are a bit conflicted. There is a glimpse at the end of what could have been, but he did such despicable things. But on the positive side Morgan and Draven are so cute. I loved seeing their powers grow and them being able to be together in their dreams. I think Morgan still has alot more power to discover and I cannot wait to see her face her father in the next book.

Divided by Oceans but Eternally Bonded

Morgan Pendragon has another name now: Morgan Le Fay. As her true heritage slowly emerges from the mists of the past, Morgan renounces one possible future as the new ruler of the fierce Siabra fae and the wife of the Prince of Claws and vanishes through a portal–returning to Camelot and the Rose Court where her friends and younger brother lie in mortal peril from Arthur's cruel wiles.

But back in the Court of Claws, Kairos Draven won't allow his beloved to disappear from his life so easily. His bond with Morgan goes beyond blood, love, life, and even time itself and neither one of them can relinquish its power or its pull.

Yet Morgan is no ordinary woman. Not only is she beginning to manifest remarkable abilities, but the powers of the gods themselves run through her veins, bestowing her with an unimaginable power and an unthinkable claim over all of Aercanum and beyond...

A claim which some will stop at nothing to put a halt to.

Empress of Fae is book three in the Blood of a fae series. I am hooked with this book. I can't wait for the next book. I thoroughly enjoy every second of reading this.
