My three year old absolutely loved this book and so did I. Funny, cute artwork and one we will remember walking along riverbanks and lochs in future.

This is a cute rhyming book about a young crocodile in Africa who discovers his own Scottishness after his mother gives him the trendy reptilian name of Jock.

The illustrations are absolutely fantastic and reminded me a little of the old Richard Scarry books, which I loved. The art is probably the best thing about the book, and packed with clever little details and funny elements - like meerkats in kilts!

Barring one tone-deaf reference to "the darkest" Africa (which led to the deduction of half a star in the ratings), the story is a funny celebration of all things Scottish, and is very enjoyable. Though I did miss the shortbread...

It gets 3.5 stars, primarily thanks to the whimsical illustrations.

This was a super cute book with great illustrations. The rhyming took a bit to get used to as my American pronunciation through off the flow a bit. Overall though it was a joy to read.

Oh this is such an awesome little book! I read it with a smile on my face the whole time. The drawings are very beautiful and funny as well. I love that the text is written in rhyme. The warning in the front of the book made me chuckle. I love how everything Scottish is intertwined in the book!
