That was so cute for no reason? And someone tell me why it had me blushing like I'm sixteen on a first date????
Ali Morris is a professional organizer, which is ironic considering she couldn't be more disgruntled with her life. She's still grieving her mother's death, nearing forty, getting divorced and she has no idea where she's lost herself.
But wouldn't it just be the best of luck that when she finally takes her ring off and leaves the house, she runs into or rather her dog pees on the man who's known her his entire life and knows the woman she's always been and oh also happens to be her bestfriend's brother... oops that wasn't meant to be ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ธ๐ข๐ด ๐ช๐ต?

I loved the way author shows the steady progress in Ali's life and her happiness. The way she relearns to express herself and taking on new adventures, no matter how cautious they might be.
And Ethan... man's thirty-six going on sixteen for her. He's had a thing for Ali since high school and now that he's finally had the girl in his arms, he's attained life.

A lovely, tender, and hopeful novel about a woman going through a divorce while she copes with the loss of her beloved mother.
Ali is a professional organizer who canโt seem to clean her own pantry at the moment. When she meets a handsome stranger in a dog park, she feels a spark and wonders whether a summer romance may be the antidote to her troublesโฆ
This was really wonderful and sweet - Ali and Ethan are a perfect match. I enjoyed reading a romance with โolderโ characters in their mid/late 30s.
I adored Nora Goes of Script by the same author and Summer Romance has a similar endearing quality. Recommended to anyone looking for a comforting love story.
Thank you very much to Putnam Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a copy.

thanks so much for this ARC! again - my only complaint is the abysmal formatting; hyphens throughout the text and weird line breaks. it is so distracting and interrupts my reading process and my ability to follow along with what's going on. UGH.
what a wonderful story! i would give up a vital organ to get my hands on a bonus epilogue with ethan+alice. i loved the journey alice went on and watching her grow throughout the book. each relationship felt fleshed out and real. ethan seems almost too go to be true (he literally is... he is a character in a book). this book was like a firm hug. sign me up for anything by annabel Monaghan.
can't wait to see this Summer Romance out in the wild!

This was a very heartfelt novel of marriage, family, grief, and romance. I loved the representation of late-30 somethings navigating second chance romance, plus kids! This book was so relatable and speaks to anyone whose life, marriage, and grief have turned them into a shadow of their former selves. I also liked how this was about rising above the labels of childhood and how those donโt define us, but can often make it hard for us to succeed. I adored the romance between Ali and Ethan and think this book will resonate with many.
Thank you to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP PUTNAM/G.P. Putnamโs Sons for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the story of two very real and relatable people who fall in love with one another by finding home and happiness in each otherโs arms. Brimming with Monaghanโ trademark sense of humour and wit, this light-hearted yet richly crafted tale of love, family, and a womanโs journey of letting go of self-doubt packs an emotional punch even when itโs making us giggle; quickly became one of my favourite romance read of the month.
