This was so so good! I did skim a little when it dragged but the twists were great and it was really hard to put down!

Definitely recommend for thriller lovers!

Katrina is missing. Her daughter has come home from college only to find a bloody shoe and no known location as to where her mom is
Her dad is acting strange. Seems he's trying to pry money from her mom that was inherited and doesn't belong to him. Only 3 million.
Katrina is a lawyer, and her clients are big pharmaceutical companies that have provided a drug that caused defects in babies, but the drug has remained on the market
Katrina has proof that these companies do not want to be released
So many people could be the cause of Katrina's disappearance

Like Mother, Like Daughter is the new book by Kimberly McCreight who wrote Reconstructing Amelia, a book I loved.

I enjoyed this new book as it is one part mystery and one part Mother/Daughter literary fiction. As the story unfolds, we learn more about the backstories of both Mother and Daughter (Cleo and Kat) and ultimately the pieces fall together with some good twists and surprises.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Like Mother, Like Daughter is available now.

Intrigued by this story of a Mother and her daughter from the 1st page until the last. Not the ending I was expecting! Secrets, lots of secrets, both Mother and Daughter have them. I will look for more books by this author.

Like Mother, Like Daughter is a thriller novel about a mother and daughter who both have secrets that could ruin the other. Kat is a lawyer in New York City who fixes situations for a living but is having a hard time keeping her own past fixed. She goes missing and daughter Cleo will stop at nothing to find her. Cleo has her own issues with a drug dealer ex boy friend and ex best friend problems.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The ending surprised me and not where I thought the book was heading. This is the second book I have read by this author and I absolutely would read her again.

This book has so much to offer--mother-daughter drama, a mysterious disappearance, and a dark, unexpected twist. Definitely worth a read!

Cleo is shocked when she finds out her mum hasn't been fully honest. And then she goes missing. I was all geared up for this book as the synopsis sounded fantastic. Sadly it ended up just being okay for me. I didn't love it nor did I hate it. The story was good and I finished it but I was hoping for more of the wow factor. Don't take my word for it though as there are many fantastic reviews for this one. I hope you love it too!

Like Mother, Like Daughter by Kimberly McCreight was a mystery suspense while peeling back the layers of relationships. When Katrina vanishes leaving behind a bloody shoe and dinner burning, her daughter Cleo realizes that she may not know her mother at all.

Told through alternating viewpoint both before and after her disappearance, McCreight deftly weaves the story of Kat's childhood and her relationship with Cleo. As a parent, I understood Kat's attempts to protect her daughter. As a daughter, I understood the myopic lens that children view their parents.

Throughout the story, the mystery of what happened to Kat was told so well, laying out the options and ending with something that made sense yet still was somehow surprising. Fantastic storytelling and character development with enough clues to make this a true whodunit. I thoroughly enjoyed it, recommend it, and look forward to more from Kimberly McCreight.

Like Mother, Like Daughter is a thriller described as “a love story about a mother and daughter who are determined to save each other”

Cleo, an NYU student arrives home for a visit with her mother Kat to find her missing, having left behind her shoe and a pool of blood. Cleo is left to work through her mother’s past to uncover what truly happened, and hopefully repair their relationship along the way.

Growing up, my mother and I did not have the best relationship but as I became an adult and had a family of my own we became closer than I ever thought was possible. We both have a love for reading, so I was very intrigued by a thriller revolving around a mother and daughter with a strained relationship.

Personally, I was kind of disappointed by this book. I had high hopes for it but it kind of fell flat. It felt like a plot that had so much potential to be unique and different, but ended up being pretty average.

If you’re looking for a domestic thriller that feels wholesome then I think this book is perfect.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Knopf, Pantheon, Vintage, and Anchor for providing me with an eARC of Like Mother, Like Daughter in exchange for my honest review!

This is a solid read that offers up a mix of mystery thrills and dysfunctional family drama. While I don't find it to be particularly groundbreaking with its execution, it still succeeds at guiding me through the twists and turns of Cleo and Kat's dynamic. The plotting can be slow sometimes during the first two acts, but it amps up quite a bit during the third act and reaches a satisfying conclusion.

Overall, I'm officially rating Like Mother, Like Daughter three out of five stars. I'll keep an eye out for more of Kimberly McCreight's work.

I was so excited to get this book! There’s definitely a lot going on from the minute Chloe finds her mother missing. I enjoyed a lot of aspects of this book, so so many twists. The problem with this is that sometimes there is just too much going on! I was really torn, probably 3 stars for this one. I didn’t really care for any of the characters but the twists and turns kept me going!

Like Mother, Like Daughter is McCreight's thrilling new novel about two people who are both hiding secrets, and each don't know what the other's are. When Cleo, a college student, finds her mother's bloody shoe under the bed and her mother gone from the house, she knows something terrible has happened to her, but what? She doesn't entirely trust the police to do their jobs, and takes it upon herself to find out what happened to her mother. This was a pulse-pounding, duel point of view ride not to be missed!

I really like this author’s style and really liked the set up of this book. I’m a sucker for dual timelines plus the added in extra features of news articles and therapy sessions. It was engaging from the start and kept me drawn in until the end. The twists were perfect and I actually did not figure this one out so that’s always a treat! Highly recommend this fast paced, twisty domestic thriller.

Like Mother, Like Daughter was a disappointing new "thriller" by Kimberly McCreight. I really enjoyed Reconstructing Amelia by the same author and was very excited to get this one to read. Kat has disappeared and her daughter Chloe finds blood and lots of secrets her mother was hiding.
Will Chloe be able to find her mother before it's too late?

Unfortunately I found this novel had too much going on - unnecessary side plots and characters. I couldn't connect with the main female character Kat at all. I enjoyed the sections from her daughter, Chloe's POV and found her to be more relatable for some reason. The main plot was a bit too predictable and because of that I lost interest, but pushed through. The ending got a little better, but by then I was just happy it was over.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Like Mother, Like Daughter by Kimberly McCreight
.
When Cleo shows up to her mother’s house for dinner, she can’t find her mother anywhere. What’s more concerning is the blood. As Cleo starts her own investigation into where her mother could be, she learns that she didn’t know her mother as well as she thought she did.
.
What I liked:
-The back and forth POV was excellent. I loved learning about Kat’s days leading up to her disappearance, and then getting Cleo’s POV on her search for her mother.
-The mystery was well told. A missing person. A non-cop family member playing detective and poling around. There is bound to be a lot of good drama.
-LOTS of secrets.
-I liked how it ended.
.
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An intriguing mystery with lots of juicy secrets and drama.

This was my first book by Kimberly McCreight and I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it. I thought it was very clever in giving little hints at what might have happened and all of the secrets that the mother had hidden from her daughter about her job. I had a good hunch on how it was going to end and I had half of it right. Definitely didn't see the other half coming though which I always appreciate when a thriller/mystery makes me go "whoa!"

She wants to be close but she is constantly butting heads with Cleo. Suddenly, Kat goes missing and Cleo takes it upon herself to try and find her Mom. Secrets are revealed, the truth is told, and I was constantly changing my mind about what happened. It kept me on my toes and I loved it!
