This is book 7 in the Truly Texas series. I think I might have liked it more if I had read any of the previous books in the series. Jenna and her daughter live in Limestone Springs, Texas, and work for Tito Mendoza. She is hiding from her past but when it catches up with her, Tito makes sure that Jenna and her daughter are safe. Can she learn to trust again?
In this book, Jenna Hamlin and her daughter, Halley, seek refuge in the town to escape Jenna's abusive ex-husband. Working at a restaurant, Jenna forms a close bond with Tito Mendoza, her boss's cousin who runs the bar. As their friendship deepens, Jenna grapples with whether to confide in Tito about her secret past and her fears for the future. Meanwhile, she and Halley grow attached to the town and its residents, longing for a sense of permanence and safety. With a mix of mystery, heartwarming romance, and endearing characters, this novel is perfect for an afternoon read.
