This is a fun, entertaining, cozy read. The various characters are quirky, entertaining, intriguing and fun. I found the amateur sleuth Jade relatable and I enjoyed spending my time with her. The mystery and romance subplots are interesting. I enjoyed the mystery and how it played out – with all it’s twists and turns. Jade and her friends played important roles in solving the case and that I love. The story is easy to get into and read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When a TV show that’s being filmed in Mermaid Bay is beset by a series of mishaps, Jade gets involved in the investigation. The mystery was readable although I figured out who the perpetrator was fairly early on. There were two things that bothered me in the book: the amount of repetitive actions like pulling stock and eating hot dogs and, the large number of characters. I found that it was hard to keep everyone straight.

Love is in the air when Hollywood arrives in Mermaid Bay, and the town may never be the same. Fans will do almost anything to get a glimpse of the actors or a chance to be an extra in the Love Channel’s “My Coastal Valentine.” Crowds flock to the cozy beach town from all over and business is booming for Christmas shop owner, Jade Hicks until the body of a testy reporter is found in one of the actors rooms. And if murder isn’t bad enough, someone tries to kill the show’s star, hunky Raphael Allard. The cozy little beach town feels cursed, as the Love Channel threatens to pull out of the project. Jade and the gang, Lorelei, Peppermint Patti, Bernie, Chloe, and Neville the Devil Cat, have to solve the crimes before it ruins the town’s reputation and breaks the hearts of fans across the country.
I enjoyed the characters and the setting of Mermaid Bay. The story moves along quickly and really gets into the character development. I did find some parts dragged on, making it difficult to pay attention. The lack of investigation and more just guessing was slightly terrifying. This book was ok. I think I’d read the next one and see if it was worth continuing.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

As a devoted fan of Weidner's captivating storytelling, I eagerly delved into this Christmassy mystery, which seamlessly blends the warmth of festive spirits with suspenseful intrigue.
Love is in the air when Love Channel camps at Mermaid Bay to shoot 'My Coastal Valentine'. As the saying goes, never meet your heroes, the stars of the show are up to their 'diva' antics. From Elle's disastrous comments that puts the B&B in a bad light to Raphael's multiple affairs, the townspeople have their hands full with juicy gossip and tourists.
Just when the town thought things couldn't get any hotter, a tragedy strikes. A murder. This isn't something one needs to turn up the heat a notch. Not with Christmas around the corner. Finding a dead body in an actor's room takes the frenzy to a whole new level.
The plot unfolds with a perfect blend of suspense, humor, and unexpected twists. Jade not only navigates through the complexities of a murder mystery but also finds herself in the spotlight in a surprising turn of events. To avoid spoilers, I will not delve into the details, but rest assured, it certainly adds an extra later of intrigue and fun.
Captivating narrative made it impossible for me to put down the book until the end. Though a second in the series, it already feels like Jade and the gang are (my) old friends. Likable characters and masterful storytelling.
To summarize, Twinkle Twinkle Au Revoir by Heather Weidner is a candy-cane sweet and totally engrossing mystery. Highly recommended!
Cute cozy mystery. When a tv show comes to town to film and show the town, Jade is on hand when people start dying and disappearing. Must admit her friend that runs the B&B got a bit annoying. Not sure why she didn't call the cops instead. Still though, enjoyed this one and would recommend it.
It kind of read like a hallmark movie with a little murder thrown in.
I unfortunately was not a fan of this book, and had difficulties getting to the end. I wanted much more from it. I had trouble connecting to the story and there was a lot of the same story line told throughout. There was also a typo in chapter 2 (i believe) strand was spelled stand.
#TwinkleTwinkleAuRevoir #NetGalley is another cozy mystery by a new to me author.
Jade lives in Mermaid Bay and owns a year round Christmas shop.
When the cast of Love Channel’s “My Coastal Valentine" arrive in town, no one is ready for the chaos they bring with them.
When the body of a nosy reporter is discovered, Jade jumps into action, asking questions and doing her own investigating.
I enjoyed the book a lot, but I did find some parts dragged on, making it difficult to pay attention.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.
I enjoyed the characters and the setting of Mermaid Bay. The story moves along quickly and really gets into the character development. Unfortunately the whole investigation into the incidents is non existence. Nothing happens, but following the movements of the characters and learning about them is worth it. I knew who the killer is almost right away, I felt like it was very obvious. #TwinkleTwinkleAuRevoir #NetGalley
"Twinkle Twinkle Au Revoir (Mermaid Bay Mystery #2)" by Heather Weidner is a bit of a fall cozy mystery and a bit of a Valentine's cozy mystery. The time frame is in the fall but there is a film crew in Mermaid film a romance channel show set at Valentine's time. This one also had a bit of a feel like things happened between the first book and this one that I feel like I maybe missed but I've read both. Maybe it's just me missing something from the first book.
Overall an interesting cozy mystery. At one point I thought it was wrapping up with a press conference as the reveal but it wasn't. It kept going, which is good because it hadn't felt finished. It still didn't totally when the reveal finally did happen, but I was leaning in the direction of a character like who the murderer ended up being.
This was such a wonderful and enjoyable read!!!! I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre. Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
