Watch in amazement as an egg becomes an Artic tern, then follow the journey she makes each year of her life from the nesting colony in the Arctic to the wintering ground in Antarctica. Then a scant four months later, the trip is repeated in reverse. (And, to think I complain about having to go to the grocery store!) This is a fascinating book, beautifully illustrated by Anna Terreros-Martin.

Simply wonderful!

The format of this book is amazingly interactive. This will be so popular in a classroom or for my own children. It contains everything you can imagine about Arctic terns and teaches a lesson on each page such as geography with an interactive map. The pages expand and move and will be loved by all ages.

What a beautiful book! It begins and ends with a small speckled egg, but in the middle is the life-cycle of an arctic tern, from egg to hatchling and young adult ready to fly. The tern flies from the top of the earth to the bottom and mates for life. The illustrations are engaging and accurate and the story is told in first-person-tern. I read the e-book but the physical book comes with two fold-out posters showing the entire life cycle of the arctic tern. Kids will find this story and the format engaging and informative. #netgalley

Start Small Think Big is a series of nonfiction books for children. Readers learn about the amazing Arctic Tern in this book. The life cycle of this interesting bird is presented in clear text with delightful illustrations. As an adult reader, I learned more than I ever knew about Arctic Terns and their incredibly long migrations.
