This is a great introduction to some brand new series (at least to me). I found some series that I want to read.
After reading this sampler, I'll be reading more than half the books on this list. I'm also always torn about reading teasers, because I can't immediately keep reading!
Debut mystery The Expectant Detectives was a surprise that I wouldn't have necessarily picked up to try, but I was HOOKED.
If I’m being honest, none of the initial chapters of these grabbed my attention enough to want to continue on with them. There was nothing in those samples to draw me in
The Minotaur Sampler Winter 2024 edition offers a tantalizing preview of five gripping novels that promise to captivate readers with diverse plots and compelling characters. As a fan of Minotaur books, I delved into the sampler, finding each selection to be a potential heart-racing adventure.
"Leave No Trace" introduces Special Agent Michael Walker of the National Park Service in a thrilling series that kicks off with a terrorist attack on the Statue of Liberty. The premise sets the stage for an intriguing narrative that sparks curiosity about future developments.
"The Expectant Detectives" stands out as a fresh, funny, and heartfelt debut mystery, bringing together a group of soon-to-be moms-turned-detectives. The charming storyline piques interest with its unique blend of motherhood and detective work.
For those seeking a standalone thriller, "Everyone Who Can Forgive Me is Dead" beckons with a tale of escaping a haunting past tied to a traumatic event at a prestigious journalism school. The debut nature of the novel adds an extra layer of anticipation for what lies ahead.
Christina Estes, an Emmy Award-winning reporter, introduces Jolene Garcia in "Off the Air," the Tony Hillerman Prize-winning debut. This thought-provoking and entertaining mystery series promises a compelling journey through the lens of a skilled reporter.
Lastly, "Bless Your Heart" offers a crackling mystery-horror novel with blood-soaked Southern charm. The combination of big-hearted characters and gasp-worthy moments makes it a delightful prospect for readers seeking an enthralling Southern-flavored mystery.
Overall, The Minotaur Sampler Winter 2024 edition presents an enticing selection, catering to a variety of tastes within the mystery genre. With each novel's unique premise and promising beginnings, it's a perfect opportunity to discover a new book.
I absolutely love these samplers. I always find one or two that I can’t wait to read that I probably wouldn’t have picked out otherwise!
Who doesn’t love a sampler pack of a whole bunch of interesting and new stories. I loved them all and will definitely continue to check out the rest.
I love being able to sample these books to see if they're something I'd be interested in, especially because this isn't a genre I normally read a lot. I've seen Bless Your Heart around a lot so getting a snippet of it was great! I'm looking forward to reading more.
Thank you for the sampler, Minotaur Books!
Always a pleasure receiving the Minotaur Sampler. This time around though, none of the samplers appeals to me. Hopefully volume 11 will be more to my liking.
I love this series. It allows you to get a taste of the writer's writing style and the overall tone of the story, which is great to know before reading or requesting a book. It also always exposes me to books I did not have my on radar.
I have always enjoyed reading the samples of books regardless of who offers them. I must admit that the Minotaur Sampler v.10 is superb. Each book sample held my attention and fascinated me. I didn’t want them to be samples — just the whole books! Regardless, the thrillers have me deciding that I will be buying each book. I seldom do that from samplers as usually the sample volumes have at least one story that I don’t care for. This seldom happens with Minotaur samplers but what’s different is that I want to read them now! If you are interested in finding samples to read before buying a book — this is the one to get!
this was a great way to sample different books. However, I do not think I will look into these in the future, but rather wait to enjoy the whole book.
I always love these samplers and am looking forward to reading a few of the new books!

When I received this email, I initially misunderstood that it was only the beginnings of the 5 books. In the email, it had 2 choices: Read Now and Request Individual Titles. I clicked read now, thinking I was getting all 5 of the books.
My rating of 2 stars is due to my personal dislike of reading samples. I am the person that doesn't ever read the sneak peek at the next book that was sometimes included at the end of a title in a series. I found it too frustrating to have a glimpse and then wait for the rest, and would rather wait and read it all at once. I wouldn't have selected this if I had realized this was only the beginning of each book. So, I looked at the titles and their descriptions and decided to request the individual titles that seemed interesting so that after reading the beginning in the sampler, I could finish the book. My request was denied for two of them! But the books are still listed as available to request for other people that I know with NetGalley accounts. This seems counterintuitive to me! If I am willing to read and review a sampler of titles, then I should be able to get the ARC and finish them.
All that aside, if you need a little more of a test of a book than the blurb can give you, this is an interesting way to get that. Each book sample gives you enough to understand the storyline, and characters and ends at a cliff-hanging point that would encourage the reader to want to know what happens. Each sample ends with a button you can click to pre-order the book. I think it would be a better way to sell titles if they were being released within the next month, though.
Always enjoy the Minotaur samplers - I requested several of them and look forward to reading all of them!
Great samples of the four novels. My interest was definitely peaked. I am so excited for the full length books.!
I always enjoy these samplers - they are a great way to read a long excerpt of upcoming books. There is something for everyone in this sampler - humor, suspense, and mystery.
The two I would most like to read are "Leave No Trace" and "Everyone Who Can Forgive Me is Dead'. The first book is about an attack on the Statue of Liberty. The second one is a mystery about a lethal attack on journalism students, and the one who survived.
We also have Southern housewives who happen to be vampires, extremely pregnant women investigating a mystery, and a prize winning book about a journalist investigating the suspicious death of a talk show host.
I really enjoyed the variety I would read something like this again. It was easy to read and then read another part later
Thank you for the sampler. I cannot wait to read the books coming out soon that are featured in this sampler.

This is a fun collection of books. The one I think I am the most interested in is “Bless Your Heart.” This is a great chance to get to read a variety of Books and see if you are interested in checking out the full novel.
Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s & Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read these samples.
