Mind blowing.
A woman falls to her death from a London bank’s twenty-fifth-floor roof terrace.
You're arrested for her murder. You tell the police that you had only met the victim the previous night at your office party. She was threatening to jump down from the roof, but you had talked her down. You've got nothing to do with this tragedy. You're clearly being framed. So why do the police keep picking holes in your story? Even your lawyer doesn't seem to believe you.It soon becomes obvious that you're keeping secrets. But who are you trying to protect? And why?
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for giving me an advance copy.

Tate Kinsella finds herself charged with the murders of a woman from the roof terrace of an office block in London.
The story is told in the first person by Tate as she describes to her duty solicitor what happened, and via the police interview, it covers both the present and the past which uses flashbacks.
It started really strongly, I was hooked from the outset. Then it quickly dived into the unreliable narrator trope, which is not a favourite for me. It uses another trope that I can’t mention to avoid spoilers, but I loved how it unfolded.
It starts off in one direction, then seems to go off at a tangent, then it starts coming together. It’s quite a complex plot, I love how it’s all strung together. It feels like an intricate but very strong cobweb. It’s a great full on entertaining read that’s cleverly constructed. I loved all of the reveals and twists.
It’s hard to like Tate and the main characters as it’s hard to know where the truth lies, but it all comes together and I loved it. It’s unusual for me to love a book with large scale unreliability. I’m more of a I like to know where I’m at, and who I can trust, but occasionally, this being one of them the storyline just draws me right in.
The pace is kept up well throughout, there are bits duplicated with a different pov and alternative ‘truth’ that I can appreciate the relevance of, and need for within the storyline but it’s not my favourite sections to read.
I would highly recommend this if you want something that’s a bit different (I’m always craving something with a new fresh angle), takes some concentration to keep up with the convoluted plot, but it’s not complicated to follow.
Loved this book because it starts out with a mystery and completely changes course so the reader had no clue what was happening - but in a good way! Such a refreshing read in light of so many predictable thrillers out there on the market. This one did not disappoint.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. This was mindblowing. You can't trust anything and the truth is not what you think it is! It really hooks you from the beginning. A five star read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins Canada for this ARC. This is a very long and intricate murder mystery with serious social and relationship issues. So intricate that at times you lose your way.
I really enjoyed this book! It grabbed my attention from the first few pages that’s why I was able to read this book in one day. I would have given this one 5 stars but i did feel like it started to drag a little in the middle and wasn’t fond of the retelling of the same story in different timelines. Overall, great book!
I really enjoyed this unique mystery/thriller. The book had a select few main characters so it was easy to keep up with them.
This was a suspenseful read that kept me guessing til the very end! The narrator is unreliable and it’s hard to figure what’s true. One of my first reads of 2024 and I enjoyed every minute of it!
This is the first book by Ruth Mancini that I've read, I've seen some early rave reviews so had to see for myself.
A woman falls to her death from a London bank's twenty-fifth floor roof terrace.
Main character Tate is arrested for her murder, she swears she's innocent but the police don't believe her, her own lawyer doesn't seem to believe her. The evidence and witness statements make it clear that someone is telling lies.
It starts with a bang, straight into the story with high tension, conflict and pace. The first third of the book had me excited and very optimistic. It's an extremely original plot though I feel it's a little convoluted in the telling. I'm all for unreliable narrators but don't really like sections of the story being repeated with variations, after I've got invested in the first version.
There are some big unexpected twists, it ended well with all the strands neatly tied off and clearly explained.
A strange one to recommend, certainly very different and I love the cover.
Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks
This was a complete curmudgeon. I started reading it and thought it was a straight forward thriller but within a few chapters it quickly became chaotic. Helen?? Tate?? I started scratching my head and I had no idea what was going on. I started looking at my kindle like it was crazy! This was my first Ruth Mancini book and I must say it won’t be my last. She knocked it out of the park with this one.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!
This one started of strong and I was very Intrigued by the mystery women, Helen . There were so many twists but I felt it lacked execution and the paced slowed down during the second half. It was interesting to see how the story all came together.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.
This one was a real sleeper, the mystery was slow building, divine justice, and it was so darned clever and well-done! Kudos to the author for her "creation".
If you are a mystery lover who enjoys justice delayed but not denied, you will love this story.
This story reminded me of when I would go fishing with my Dad, and although I don't agree with fishing and hunting it was part of my early life. At any rate, the build-up of this story reminded me of the delicate dance when fishing when you attempt to set the hook with a deft hand, lest you pull up a fishless hook with the bait gone. This story landed a champion!
this book had a very strong start, got immediately involved and the first third was very absorbing. It then got a bit bogged down, the rest was interesting but felt like it was too long and made the point less effective. Almost felt like two different people had written it. Still overall a good read but.....
I am grateful to NetGalley and Harper Collins for the ACR e-book.
Tate is an under-employed actor with very few gigs under her belt and a disturbing past. When opportunity arises to right a wrong done to her years ago, she jumps at the chance and bravely faces all the dangers along the way. This was an intriguing read, although once I was halfway through, I'd pretty much figured out how it would end. One last twist would have earned another star from me. I enjoyed Mancini's writing style and look forward to reading her other books. Recommended.
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for this amazing advance copy ♥️♥️
"The Woman on the Ledge" is a mind-blowing psychological thriller that had me hooked from the very first page! The author's skillful storytelling expertly blurs the lines between truth and lies, keeping me guessing until the very end. I loved how the protagonist, Tate, an actress and temp worker, finds herself entangled in a murder investigation after trying to help a stranger on the terrace. The twists and turns were expertly paced, and I found myself questioning everything and everyone! Even Tate's lawyer doubts her story, adding to the suspense. This book is a masterclass in psychological manipulation, and I devoured every word. If you're looking for a thrilling ride that will keep you up all night, look no further than "The Woman on the Ledge”.
PUMPED about this one. I really enjoyed reading this - it was super quick and engaging. Couldn't put it down!
This is going to be one of the best books of 2024. This thriller rocked my world as I turned each page and delved deeper into this fast paced mystery. With an unreliable narrator anything can happen….and it will
If you’re starting to think that all thrillers are the same, I’d invite you to pick up THE WOMAN ON THE LEDGE. This is a story where nothing is as it seems and readers are left in the dark, grappling to put the intricate pieces together.
We meet Tate Kinsella as she is arrested for the murder of a woman who fell from the roof terrace of a 25-story bank in London. It becomes obvious to Tate’s lawyer and the authorities that Tate has secrets preventing them from reaching the truth.
Ruth Mancini has crafted an incredibly clever story that doesn’t feel formulaic and kept me on my toes in the best way. Not only could I not put this book down, the story also tackles some important themes that make this thriller stand out among the crowd.
READ THIS IF YOU:
Want a story that will keep you reading long past bedtime
Love when a complex plot comes full circle
Appreciate stories of clever women having their moment
RATING: 4.5/5 (rounded up to 5 stars)

This book was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey from start to finish. This book gave me vibes of Ocean's 8 but instead of a heist to rob a gala of their riches, you are taken on a heist of justice. The reader is faced with an unreliable narrator and it's hard to tell the difference between truth and lies. Right when you think you know where something is going to go, everything you thought to be true is turned upside down and you see events from a new lens. I can't wait for this book to be released in a couple of weeks so others can experience the genius of this story. I know I will definitely be giving this to my crime and law-loving sister.
A very twisty thriller! I was definitely surprised by the turn of events and that does not happen very often! The characters were well-written and the storyline was easy to follow as it jumped back and forth between the past and the present.
