Seraphina has done everything she can to escape her abusive and controlling father and provide for her two sisters over the past decade. That includes not revealing her secret marriage to Scotsman Ian MacInnes. When Ian, who is now the Duke of Belgair, finds out Seraphina is alive and not dead as is believed he is determined to finalize their divorce. Taken aback by Ian’s reappearance on the Isle of Synne, Seraphina reluctantly agrees to travel to Scotland to have their marriage officially dissolved. After the two find out Seraphina’s father betrayed and lied to them both in order to prevent Ian and Seraphina from being together. Along their journey Seraphina and Ian slowly learn to trust each other and realize past feelings are not gone. With the pair take a chance with each other once again or will past obstacles still stand in their way?

I did find it a bit hard to connect to Seraphina as she is such a closed off and guarded character but the premise and second chance romance I thoroughly enjoyed!

***I received an advance reader copy of this book from NetGalley. I am under no obligation to review the book. All opinions are my own. ***

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book, I loved the first one in this series but did not like the second book at all.

Seraphina is on the Isle of Synne with her two younger sisters whom she has been protecting for years from their horrible father. Her sisters are of age now and she no longer needs to hide them but old habits are hard to break.

Seraphina married Iain when she was much younger and so in love, but she believed that he betrayed her for money because of said horrible father.

Iain has been working and making his way and fortune the best ways he knows how and happens into a dukedom that he never thought he would have. Then he finds out the wife he thought betrayed him and died is alive. He needs to secure a divorce before she can get her hands on his title and fortune.

Iain was under the same impression that Seraphina was, he thought she betrayed him for money, but he didn’t know the horrors she's been through and the things she's had to do to keep her and her sisters safe.

Iain starts to come around pretty quickly, he's always loved Seraphina and falls back into those feelings pretty quick. But Seraphina wont let Iain in, she's been so hurt that she doesn't know how to let anyone in.

She has the same distance with her sisters and her friends who she loves so much, she can bring herself to tell them what she's been through. So she ends up have a wall between her and the people she loves and she doesn’t really know how to break it down and just let people in.

This book was so much better than the last one in this series. I felt the pain that both Seraphina and Iain felt and the hurt because they were separated. Also they were so young when they were separated they didn’t know any better. And Seraphina's father played on both of their insecurities.

Overall a great read, loved seeing these characters together and be so much more than I initially thought.

This book had one of my least favorite tropes (second chance), so I wasn’t sure I was going to like it going in. Christina Britton did a good job with it, though, and I found I enjoy her writing style. I’ll read more from this author.

I’ve read others in this series and I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the others. It was a little slow for me and I didn’t feel connected to these characters

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the eARC of The Duke's All That! All opinions in this review are my own.

This is the third book in the Synneful Spinsters series and easily my favorite! I loved this part second chance and part forced proximity romance! I really like Britton's characters and I can't wait to read more of her books!

"He suddenly had the very uncomfortable feeling that they were talking about two very different things."

When I read the prior book in this series I thought it was heartbreaking and recommended a box of tissue. So, if I start by saying forget the box, you will need a case of tissues then you can imagine how much more heartbreaking this one was! Iain and Seraphina completely wrecked me! I can't believe how much I cried. Each time I thought it couldn't get worse, it did. I really don't want to say much because I don't want to spoil a single bit of this wonderful book. It's almost perfection. Just remember, it's going to rip your heart out.

Iain is amazing! Definitely a true bbf. I loved him so much! I actually got angry with Seraphina for not throwing herself into his arms the moment she found out the truth about the past. He was so perfect. Everything I love in a historical hero, all wrapped up in a kilt, and topped by a sexy Scottish brogue. I dare anyone to not fall instantly in love with this man.

Seraphina was her own worst enemy. Yes, she suffered greatly in her past and I even understand why she was so guarded and protective of letting anyone in. But she is surrounded by people who love her and would do anything for her and still she holds everyone, even her beloved sisters, at arms length. Several times I just wanted to shake some sense into her.

Don't worry if you haven't read the other books in the series. This amazing book can very easily be read as a standalone as Iain wasn't in the earlier books and Seraphina provided almost no hints to everything we learn here. And while the characters from the other books make a few appearances, there is no need to already know there backgrounds. The only caution is that obviously there will be spoilers in the this book for the earlier books, but that is true with most series books.

There's a lot of emotion in this book and while there isn't a ton of action, that's not what kind of story this is. This is a real love story between two people who should have always been together and were cruelly ripped apart in the past. I loved seeing them rediscover their love for each other and find a way to be together in the future. *sigh*

I loved this story. It's a second chance of an Earl's daughter and an orphan groom in Scotland who secretly married and years later come back together. They've been separated for thirteen years after her father manipulating and lies separated them. Watching these two get reacquainted as they travel back to Scotland in a carriage was delightful. They eventually find the truth about their past and rediscover the love they had in their youth.

Seraphina Trew is 32 now and owns a bookshop in the Isle of Synne finally safe from her evil father a powerful Earl. The Earl told each of them separately the other left. Once Iain was gone he bundled Seraphina off to an asylum to have an attitude adjustment and punishment. After a year she was finally released. Her younger sisters begged her to take them away as dear ole dad was planning their weddings to titled old men, at the age of 14 and 15! They stole away and managed to avoid capture from their father until he gave up. Time passed and the Earl declared them dead while the girls were safe on the isle.

Iain MacInnes is now the Duke of Balgair. He was then lead to believe she was dead. Now he finds she's alive and he wants a divorce! Given he unexpectedly became the only surviving male of a dukedom. He decides not to tell her he now has a title in case she wants to become a duchess. He demands she accompany him back to Edinburgh so they can have a divorce and get on with their lives. The four day carriage ride eventually reveals secrets and the truth. They each have to decide if their marriage can survive.

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 3 in the Synneful Spinsters series. I enjoyed the story but the characters not so much. Seraphina has been working to protect her sisters for years. The one thing I hated was how she refused to talk to her family. That drove me crazy. Other than her personality I did like the story.

More like 3.5 rounded up, but many of the book's strongest elements were actually set outside of the isle of Synne that has been such a backdrop to this and the previous series. Road trip to Scotland to dissolve a marriage between characters who still have such deep feelings for each other? Catnip for me, personally. The only thing I would've liked to see more of is Iain and Seraphina reunited; it felt like she went off on her own to come clean with various parties by the end of the book and simply wrap that part of the plot up, and then the timejump meant there was even more distance before they were able to come back together. But overall, a strong series and I'm definitely looking forward to whatever Britton writes next.

This is the third book of the Synneful Spinsters series but can easily be read as a standalone. Both Seraphina and Iain have been living in misunderstanding for the past thirteen years. They had fallen in love when Iain was just a stable boy at her father's summer home. Her father was a cruel man, and they decided to elope and afterwards were discovered by him. Feeding off their insecurities, he spun a false tale telling each of them the other had left. Seraphina took the first opportunity she had and took her sisters and left and they have been living on the Isle of Synne. Her life has not been easy, but she has found some semblance of peace with her life now. Iain finds out he is a duke and must marry, but he is already married to Serphina. He believed her to be dead but finds out she is alive and sets out to find her with plans of divorcing her so he can carry on with his life. Although they set out with the intention of divorce, they are forced to confront their past and realize they are still deeply in love with each other. Iain learns all about how Seraphina truly suffered and the sacrifices she made to get her sisters away from their wicked father. He realizes he wants her back, but Seraphina feels she has fallen too low and is no longer worthy of him.
The story was a captivating and intriguing second chance romance that was both touching and heartbreaking. The characters were well-developed and interesting and I found myself rooting for them the whole time. An emotional story that comes to a satisfying conclusion and a wonderful addition to the series. Looking forward to reading the next one!

Iian MacInnes, the new Duke of Balgair, needs to marry, but he already has a wife. Now he's here on the Isle of Synne looking for his wife to get a divorce. His missing, thought dead wife is Seraphina Trew. Seraphina has secrets she's held inside her heart for thirteen years. What a shock when Iian shows up on Synne. He has to take Seraphina to Scotland to prove she's alive to get the divorce. The journey will reveal the steps her father took to separate them and the sacrifices she had to make to keep her sisters safe. What if she and Iian have a second chance?
Not an easy read. A tearjerker from the beginning. Descriptive sex.

I absolutely adored this book!
Iain and Seraphina’s story of thwarted love and heartbreak was so poignant!
I loved the way the author developed them as individuals who have moved on from the youthful “mistakes “ and how the raw emotions they experience don’t sabotage those memories but serve as a vehicle to explain all the ways they’ve grown.
A brilliant, engaging second chance romance I’ll think about at random moments in my day.
Truly, truly lovely.

I love all of Christina Britton's books and this one is no exception. This can be read as a standalone of as part of the series (it is book three). This is a cute second chance romance that I would recommend to anyone.

WOW! This book is BEYOND WORDS! It is moving, powerful, poignant, emotional, heartbreaking, hopeful, and so much more. Whenever I picked up "The Duke's All That", I was whisked back in time, and could not put this second-chance romance down.

Christina Britton is one of my absolute favorite authors! Her writing style is full of so much heart, and each and every element of her story jumps right off the page in such a tangible way. Her characters all feel like such real people, and I truly found myself pulling for Seraphina and Iain from the first moment. There wants, fears, desires, and needs are so incredibly clear, and my heart ached for their pain, and smiled for their happiness.

Seraphina is such a strong, kind, brave, and determined woman who cares and loves so deeply. She has survived absolutely horrific treatment at the hands of her father, and vows to protect her sisters from him and his men. To do so, she and her sisters ran away years ago, changing their names in the hope they can begin a new, and much safer, life.

Iain is such a caring, brave, kind-hearted, and protective man. Having believed Seraphina, his wife, to have died years ago, he is shocked to find out she is still alive. Upon hearing this news, he is determined to find her so that they can get a divorce. However, never could he have imagined the truth surrounding their situations, and perhaps their lives are meant to be intertwined once more.

(Possible Spoilers!)
Seraphina and Iain are truly so special and beautiful together. They bring out the best in each other, understand one another deeply, and help one another to heal in such a powerful and caring way. After being torn apart years before by horrific lies, once they come to the realization of what really happened, they begin to find their way back to each other. It is such a powerful journey, and they truly are one another's happily-ever-after.

Many moments throughout this book had me in tears, and truly, this book is so powerful. I also absolutely love the group of friends in this book; such a loving, warm, caring, and supportive group of good people my goodness. It absolutely warms my heart.

If you enjoy Historical Romance novels, I highly recommend this book! I so look forward to reading what Ms. Britton writes next!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the e-ARC of this book, and to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the beautiful finished copy as well! All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗸𝗲’𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 is book 3 in the Synneful Sisters series, and even though I somehow missed book 2, it didn’t prevent me from enjoying it.

It starts off with Seraphina and Iain secretly wed and living momentarily in bliss before they have to face reality. She’s from money, he’s the help. But as soon as they’re joined together they’re separated by lies and betrayal. The separation lasts years with both of their lives changing drastically in the meantime. Iain eventually needs to seek a divorce, and discovers Seraphina’s whereabouts. All the years of sadness and anger come to a head when they see each other again. As with the previous book, this story is full of passion and longing. The joy in reading it is when and how they give in to it.

A thing to love about this series is that the FMC is her own person. Britton gives Seraphina her agency, and she’s unapologetic about the decisions and sacrifices she’s made in order to survive in a society that likes to keep women in their place. Iain, who knows a thing or two about the man keeping him down, has a rather progressive and understanding attitude about Seraphina’s past choices, and supports her wholeheartedly. Even if she continues to insist on a divorce, as much as it’ll break his heart.

It had been a while since I last read a regency novel, and this was so good! Read it for:

- Dual POV
- Female empowerment
- Second chance romance
- One bed
- Separated by lies and deceit
- Rags to riches
- Grumpy parrot
- HEA

My thanks to @netgalley &@readforeverpub for my ARC in exchange for an honest review. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗸𝗲’𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 is out now!

I'm not always a fan of second chance romances, but The Duke's All That really worked for me. An earl's daughter wed a stablehand, but they were torn apart. Now he's a duke, and he wants a divorce, which requires them to go on a road trip.

Seraphina and Iain were once very much in love, but outside interference broke them apart. Both of them blame the other for the marriage's failure, but in reality, neither of them were responsible. There's a lot of anger on both sides, and the resentment is palpable at the beginning of the trip. Like all good romance road trips, the proximity forces the pair to reexamine the past, each other, and their relationship.

This is a very emotional story. Both characters have been through a lot, and Seraphina has had a very difficult life after being separate from Iain. She's risked her life and safety to make sure that her sisters aren't forced into unwanted marriages, and she's built a good life for them, one that Iain's reappearance puts in jeopardy.

This book is part of a series, but it's not necessary to read the other books to read this one (although the series is great, and I highly recommend the other books).
