"Bound by Legacy. Shaped by Prophecy. We are the Chosen Five.

In the shadow of my grandmother's passing, I discover a truth that shakes my world - I am a witch fated to save the magical island of Macornia. With four other young witches, each a granddaughter of the infamous defectors who fled to the mortal realm, we are summoned to Moonstone Academy.

Our mission? To master our burgeoning magical abilities and weave spells potent enough to save Macornia from the ominous clutches of Faboria, a nation bent on our complete and utter annihilation.

Swept into a realm of enchantment that is at once bewildering and captivating, we must dig deep within to find the courage and magic needed to fulfill our destinies.

We are the long-awaited five, descendants of the defectors, bound by blood and magic to fulfill a prophecy etched in the annals of time.

We are the chosen ones, the only force that can defeat the wicked Seraphinas of Faboria."

This is the first book in the Pentacoven Chronicles series. I enjoy reading this. I devoured it in one sitting.

I loved this book! I’m always a sucker for magic schools, having grown up on Harry Potter. I will never not love this genre!! And I love finding those genres written in the ya or new adult style. And even though I’m an adult now, I still enjoy the YA/NA genre.

The magic system is really developed and explained well without going into info dumping.

The characters are relatable, relatable annoying and endearing at times (as are we all)

I loved the vivid imagery and I was really immersed in the story as a whole!

Thanks so much NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review💖💫

The Pact follows Harper as she learns who she really is, a witch and that she needs to go to school in a new world and learn how to use her magic to help save Macornia with the help of her new Coven from Faboria.

The novel is quite exciting seeing the 5 girls grow and develop their powers and their bond, as well as lots of near death a long the way. The characters are well described as is the island of Macornia, the magic is easy to follow.

An enjoyable read and I would read the rest of the series

I appreciate the opportunity to read this but unfortunately this a DNF for me. I couldn't get into the writing.

When her grandmother passes away, Harper discovers that she's not just any witch; she's one of the five witches bound by prophecy to defend the good witches against the forces of darkness. Her journey leads her to the Moonstone Academy, where she must harness her magic to fulfill her destined role. In this enchanting realm of magic, Harper and her newfound friends are both entranced by its wonders and threatened by the lurking dangers. Can these legendary girls master their magical abilities and save their realm in time?

“The Pact” by Sutton Scott was a fun YA book with magic and enchantments. I loved the characters and the vividness of the world building. The creatures inhabiting this realm and the concept of flying cars were my favorite parts. This book is a great magic school novel, outshining some recent entries in the magic school genre. I would love to read more of these books. 4 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed the Pact! The story was super easy to follow and the magic system was interesting!
I liked how the world seemed to be split between the good and bad witches. Macornians ( Good ) or Serphinas ( Bad ). Our story follows Harper, who doesn't think she has it in her to be the leader of the coven.
I enjoyed the characters. Harper's character wasn’t totally bad but in all honesty she had those moments where she pissed me off. Like her lack of confidence, I hope she gains more. I think once the characters start to bond more, Harper's confidence will grow in herself to be a leader fully and I can’t wait.
I’m excited to see where this group of teenagers goes and if theyre able to save their world. Thank you Netgalley and 4kids5cats Editions for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
