No surprise that I loved this book, I always love any book by Daniel Hurst, I was a great addition to the other Doctorโ€™s Wife books, loved that the story continued and again, was full of surprises. Such a great story.

3.5

Honestly, I had to knock .5 of a star off because it annoyed me that Fran didn't have to face the consequences for what she did. Apart from that I really enjoyed this book. Like with any of Daniel's books it's fast paced and easy to read. The characters really weren't very likeable in this book (I got really irritated with Alice on several occasions), but it made for good reading. I'm sure we won't have to wait much longer for Mr. Hurst's next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this. I am sooooo happy Daniel Hurst made this into a trilogy! The first two books were amazing, and this one did not disappoint! And of course there was the twist which I love at the end!

I received an ARC from Netgalley! I just discovered Daniel Hurst after being part of a Freida McFadden facebook group. I loved the first two books in the doctor series and was beyond excited to receive the third book before it was published. This book has both Fern and Alice's point of view as well as a third character. There are new (and old!) secondary characters in this book, and I thought they were very developed as characters and really added to the enjoyment and twists of the story. I don't want to say too much more (no spoilers!) but I was completely satisfied with this third book. It flowed so well and kept my attention! Since I haven't read other books by Daniel Hurst outside of this series, I plan on reading his other books!

This is the third and probably final installment in The Doctor's Wife series, and I would recommend you read the first two before starting this one. This is the final showdown between Fern, the doctor's wife, and Alice, the doctor's mistress. The chapters alternate points of view with both women and Detective Tomlin, which brings some depth to the story.

The entire book is one big cat and mouse game, crafted with an intense plot and filled with desperate characters. What started out as a revenge thriller quickly turns into something else...because the doctor now has a daughter, and her mother will do anything to keep her safe, even if that means sacrificing her own freedom.

I'm being vague on some other details, but if you've read the first two books, you NEED this satisfying installment that truly surprised me with its unexpected ending. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this early read. This book will publish December 6, 2023.

Fern and Alice continue picking up their lives after Fern frames Alice for her husbandโ€™s murder. Alice is released from prison and vows to find
Fern to make her pay for what she did.
Both women now have babies and are single moms. Fern is consumed with staying on the run while Alice is consumed with finding her. This book was well written continuing the journeys of these two women. If you enjoyed the first two in this series you will enjoy the conclusion to the series.

OMG! What a great read this 3rd book in in The Doctor's Wife series is. The late Dr. Drew Devlin's wife, Fern, is now on the run with her baby daughter Cecilia. Due to lack of money, they are living in a crummy flat in a poor neighborhood under assumed names. Meanwhile, Drew's mistress, Alice, who served time in prison for his murder, is on the hunt for Fern so she can get revenge. Alice has a 3-month-0ld daughter, Evelyn, This book was a quick, easy read that kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. All 3 books in this series are equally great reads.

Thank you NetGalley an dBookouture for the ARC of this book that kept me readings well past my bedtime.

When you choose a Hurst book you know there wonโ€™t be any slow parts, or that you will have to go to hospital from boredom. I always know there will be some outlandish plot where I have to put disbelief away and keep it locked up.

This is the third in the doctorโ€™s wive series, where both Alice, Fern and Tomlin (the detective) have their own POV. As for the other books in the series, there will be a cat and mouse theme, with a big finale that is fitting for the whole series. Itโ€™s a book where revenge, desperation and doing everything for your children are major themes, so if you like those in a book here youโ€™ll have them all!

I was a bit saddened by how Alice coped after being released from prison, and wish she would have been more feisty. Her relationship status also felt a bit off, but it fitted the plot so I wonโ€™t complain about it.

I also wished there was less repetition from what had happened before, as if youโ€™ve read the previous books it was unnecessary. Also we didnโ€™t really need to know more about how the doctor conned his wife, we already knew that. I also got a bit tired of the sentence โ€˜get my own backโ€™. We get it!

Overall the book gives you enough entertainment to ignore some stereotypical characters with straightforward motivation, the plain language and unbelievable ending (although it was interesting)

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

The first book I ever read by Daniel Hurst was The Doctors Wife, which is the first book in this series. I was immediately hooked not only on this series, but on all of his work. This book was an amazing conclusion to the series, although Iโ€™m not sure itโ€™s going to be the last. There is definitely room to keep going. This book was fast paced, anxiety inducing, frustrating, and amazing all rolled into one. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

This is the third in The Doctorโ€™s Wife trilogy; I have read all three. Iโ€™m not sure you can fully appreciate this one without having read the first two.

In the first book, Fern murdered her cheating husband, Dr. Drew Devlin, and framed his lover, Alice, for the crime. Having enlisted Aliceโ€™s husband to help her, she also killed him, making it look like suicide. While happily spending Drewโ€™s very large insurance policy money in book 2, Fern met a new man who was not who he said he was and she ended up murdering him, with the book ending in a cliffhanger. This, book 3, resolves the cliffhanger.

Alice has been cleared of the crimes and is released from jail. She also has given birth to Drewโ€™s child and has hooked up with the detective who arrested her. Her greatest desire, however, is to hunt down Fern, seek vengeance, and bring her to justice. Fern, meanwhile, has given birth to her last loverโ€™s child, changed her identity, and is living hand to mouth in Cornwall.

Told from alternating POVs, this book, as was the first, is an engrossing, fast read that I couldnโ€™t put down. You may continue to hate some (or all!) of the characters, but you will enjoy this psychological thriller. It is an entertaining, escapist read; perfect as a โ€œpopcorn thriller.โ€

Thanks to #netgalley and @bookouture for the ARC.

The Doctor's Mistress by Daniel Hurst is the best in the Doctor's Wife series! It is wow! And I mean it! I liked the first two books but this one was so much better! There are so many heart-pounding moments that you want to bait your nails! Moments where you want to scream how unfair life can be. So many times your heart is ready to skip a beat as you forget to breathe! And the ending was brilliant! So brilliant!
It's just so mad how life can test people and how people bend like branches in a storm. This book is about surviving!
I don't know why but since book one I loved Fern. I love her character and how she does things. I am not saying she is always right and she could do things differently but at least she has self-respect! She knows what she wants and doesn't want! And I loved it!

You definitely must read the first two books to understand the actions of the main characters so it is not a point to summarize this book. All I can say is that we carry on following Fearn and Alice's dynamics, the situations they must survive because of one person - Dr. Drew!

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an advance copy of The Doctor's Mistress.

Daniel Hurst is an Amazon #1 bestselling author of fast-paced psychological thrillers. His most popular titles include Til Death Do Us Part, The Passenger, and The Doctor's Wife, the latter title reaching #1 on the Amazon UK Kindle store in February 2023. A regular KDP Select All Star since he became a full-time author in 2021, Daniel prides himself on writing fast, releasing stories often and engaging with his readers.

Holy buckets. This series has been filled with many twists, turns, revenge, and chaos- and this book ties it all up. Wowza!

I love how easy it is to read Danielโ€™s writing. He creates vivid characters with strong emotions and personalities. This book centers on Fern, Alice, and Tomlin. It was great getting the three perspectives and watching the plot unfold.

I loved the shift in this book. The motivation changes as the storyline moves forward, and the growth between Fern and Alice is incredible.

The depth brought to light in this book helps make things that have happened previously shift and make more sense, and the empathy rises as we get further in the book.

This was fast-paced, intense, and impossible to put down. This series is so fantastic. There are bits of everything: humor, wit, drama, compassion, forgiveness, and redemption.

Daniel captured the most basic and primal parts of a woman and portrayed them beautifully. This was one wild ride, and I enjoyed every second.

This is the third instalment of the drs wide series and I highly recommend reading them all in order for the full experience

This instalment continues the parallel story of the lives of the drs wife and his mistress and the story continues to unfold from the events which happened at the Start of this series. The story like the others pulls the reader in and Continues the suspense and intrigue.

Highly recommend you giving this author a try if you like dark deep psychological thrillers.

I will start with saying I have read every one of Daniel Hurst's books. This is the third in a trilogy and while a good satisfying read, I am glad the story is over! It kept me enthralled to the end but there were no big surprises here. It was just an okay read for me and definitely not one of my favorites of his. But if you are a fan, you will like it! Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Part three of series, which would be recommended to read in order. After Fern has fled from killing her boyfriend Roger, who was actually her cheating husbands (Drew) friend, Greg, as he found out her secret. She is living in squalor and constantly looking over her shoulder in Cornwall, along with her surprise baby, Cecelia. Meanwhile, Alice (Ferns husbands mistress) is released from prison after being falsely accused of Drewโ€™s murder, living with her surprise baby, Evelyn and Detective Tomlin. The pair are hell bent on finding Fern and making her pay for ruining both of their lives.
Another fast paced instalment of this trilogy which is hard to put down. Just as you think Fern will get her just desserts, another twists comes along! Really enjoyable and concludes the series well. A nail biting book and highly recommended.
