I do love a Daniel Hurst book and this one did not disappoint, yes it was far fetched but it is what you expect from this author. I am loving this series and it is a great conclusion to the series. I do think you would get more out of it by reading them in order but you can get away with it if needed.

A great way to escape a cold, rainy UK afternoon.

I was given an advance copy by netgalley and bookouture but the review is entirely my own.

Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 6th Dec 2023. Wow, another fantastic page turner by Daniel this is the third book in the series and I’ve loved all of them.

My favourite character was Fern as I read throughout the book I would wonder what would happen next for. This book was full of suspense and had a fantastic plot that made me read well into the night and of course, I read the book in one sitting!

Overall, another fab page turner thriller by Daniel once again and a great ending to the series I hope there is a book 4!

The Doctor's Mistress is the third book in the The Doctors Wife trilogy and is the perfect conclusion to this fast paced, heart stopping trilogy.
This book did not disappoint with all of the twists and turns that you never see coming. Daniel Hurst continues to surprise me every single time. The plot is well written and the characters are well developed. I could NOT put this book down.
Clear your schedule and get cozy on the couch because this one will have you up well into the night racing to find out what is going to happen.

The wife is on the run, with a baby. She is disguised, and no one is looking for a woman with a child.
The mistress has a baby as well, living with the man who 'lost' Fern. She isn't happy, she is stressed and cherishes every moment she is away from her screaming infant. She waits for news, any news as to where Fern is. Waiting for the showdown!

I read the first in this series. I missed the second book, but doubt that it makes much of a difference.
I did enjoy the storyline of this book, it is a bit far fetched, in my opinion, but I am not entirely sure I like Daniel Hurst's style of writing. It lacks the 'oomph' that I like in a book. This was not a page turner for me. I think Daniel Hurst fans will devour it and wait impatiently for the next in the series.
I did award a 3/5 star rating.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Net Galley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this thrilling completion to the Doctor Drew Devlin trilogy. His Wife (book 1) and his Widow (book 2) and now his Mistress.
Alice is out for revenge as Fern's misdeeds put her in prison until it was proven that she was innocent. Now all she wants is to find the elusive Fern, who never stays in one place for long. After help from a PI hired by Tomlin, the officer who let Fern get away and helped free Alice from prison, Fern is spotted, and the race is on. When the two women finally catch up something remarkable happens and they each realized what happened was neither of their faults - it was all caused by Dr. Drew himself. There is a moment of self-discovery and a very satisfying conclusion to this remarkable trilogy. I would recommend this book to anyone.

The Doctor's Mistress by Daniel Hurst is the third book in the brilliantly addictive The Doctor's Wife series. I am not sure if the author has plans to continue further with the series but, if so, I will be first in line to get my hands on the next installment.

Fern is living in obscurity with her infant daughter. Alice, meanwhile, has been released from prison where she has served time for the murder of Doctor Drew Devlin, Fern's husband and the man with whom Alice was engaged in an affair. Alice has only revenge on her mind, and will stop at nothing to make Fern pay for a crime for which the mistress has taken the fall.

Once again, Mr Hurst has crafted and executed the perfect plot, one that will have you tearing through the pages. I cannot wait to see what he has in store next for these complex and memorable women.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

Absolutely loved this third book in the series. I couldn't wait to find out how things would end up for the doctor's wife and the doctor's mistress, and the story did not disappoint! Thrilling from start to finish, I couldn't put it down!

Daniel Hurst skillfully builds the tension throughout the narrative in The Doctor's Mistress, with a series of unexpected twists and turns that keep the reader engaged.

As Alice and Fern engage in a dangerous game of wits, the suspense continues to escalate. The psychological mind games and the cat-and-mouse chase between the two women add depth to the plot.

The characters in the book are well-developed, and the author masterfully explores the complexities of their motivations and relationships. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the whole series.

The Doctor's Mistress is exciting, full of tension and suspense. Alice, now living with Detective Tomlin, is suffering from postpartum depression and unable to bond with her infant daughter Evelyn. She’s consumed with hatred for Fern, the doctor’s wife and a murderer. Alice’s search for Fern continues with many twists and turns as Fern, also a new mother, narrates her own attempts to avoid capture. There’s a surprise ending and an epilogue that gives you an idea of where this series will go next.

The problem with The Doctor's Mistress is that you really have to have read the other books in this series. I read The Doctor’s Wife but I was still confused. More background from the earlier books would make The Doctor's Mistress a richer read and easier to understand. 4 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for this ARC.

And so the story continues... :)

The doctor's wife is still running away. The doctor's mistress is still chasing her.

The doctor's wife is doing everything she can in order to stay hidden. The doctor's mistress is doing everything she can to expose her.

The doctor's wife is on her own. The doctor's mistress has help.

The doctor's wife does not want to go to prison. The doctor's mistress would love nothing more than to put her behind bars.

Is the doctor's wife gaining distance or is the doctor's mistress gaining in on her?

And what if it would come to a head to head? Who would you put your money on?

If you have not read any of these author's books, you really should give them a try and if you are looking for a wonderful series, you can start by this one.

This third book is as good and as surprising as all his other stories. I enjoyed it thoroughly. 5 stars

Thank you

this whole series has been so addicting to read. there are so many twists and turns, yet none of them are pulled out of thin air and they always fit so well with the story. i find it funny that i spend my time rooting for a murderer. i was rooting for fern so much and did not know how all of this could end. this was the perfect conclusion to the series and wrapped things up so well. a fast-paced read that i could not put down!

Was biting at the bit to read this third book in the trilogy! It was not disappointing….Don’t you just want to grab this, switch off the phone and curl up on the sofa. I did.
By far one of my favourite books I've read this year… I loved every minute…is there going to be more?!

Fern and Alice are back in this intense, nail-biting thriller and pulse pounding conclusion to the Doctor's trilogy! I loved the previous books and couldn't wait to find out what happened next between the wife and the mistress. I flew through this book in a few hours and loved every minute of it. I was rooting for Fern the whole time, despite all of her wrongdoings and horrible revenge schemes. For some sadistic reason, I felt no sympathy towards Alice and the torture that Fern put her through. I'm twisted, I know! The ending was not at all what I expected, and I had hoped for more, but in its own way it was satisfying. The very last paragraph put a huge smile on my face. Yikes, not again!! If you are looking for a fast, fun and crazy read, look no further! This series comes highly recommended from me!!

Thank you to the author, Bookouture, and NetGalley for granting me digital access in exchange for my honest review!

The third book in this series and just as good as the other two. There are some updates as to what happened previously but i do think the reader would need to read part one and two. Plenty of twists and turns and some real surprises. I certainly was not expecting the outcome.
I flew through this!

Thank you Daniel Hurst for yet another brilliant book. Also thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

Thanks so much to NetGalley for this copy of The Doctor’s Mistress by Daniel Hurst. I read the first two in the series and couldn’t wait for this one!
One will get revenge – will it be the wife or the mistress? Fern, the wife, (now know as Teresa) thinks she is safe living her new life, but she better watch out. She has already killed three people so one more won’t matter. The mistress, Alice, is after revenge after being wrongly accused of killing Fern’s husband – not just for her, but for the baby she is carrying. No one is safe!
I ended up reading this book in one day! I love Daniel Hurst’s books – good mysteries that keep you in suspense until the end – this was another good one of his. I couldn’t figure out the ending – again! I look forward to his next book! Another five-star read!
