I love returning to team Tori and Braddock. I’m this instalment, Tori and Will and called to the scene of a double homicide, the identity of one of the victims rocks them to the core and makes them determined to solve this case.
What follows is non-stop action, this is a solid quick read. You don’t need to read the entire series to enjoy this book, but you will enjoy it a lot more knowing the back story for Tori and Will. Plus, the other books in this series are just as awesome.

This book was amazing! I loved almost everything about it. I loved the storyline, the characters, crime solving and the chemistry between Tori and Braddock. Although, the first few chapters were kinda dragging when there was no lead I'm the case. But, once the team found a break, the book picked up on a fast pace.

This is my first book in the series and it's the sixth one. I was not confused at all in knowing who was whom. The author did a good job in describing the characters so newcomers like me won't be side tracked. I liked the nit bits of Tori's past.

I also liked the crime. It's not everytime you see a robbery case in a crime thriller. I loved the perfect execution of the crime solving and hoe the double homicide was the kick they needed
That being said, this book was very good and you should pick it up. I've got an inkling to read other books in the series too

The book seems to promise a gripping crime mystery featuring Agent Tori Hunter investigating the brutal murder of a young couple, Ally Mannion and her boyfriend Reed, at a remote holiday cabin. Tori Hunter is devastated to discover the victims' identities, especially because Ally is a close friend's daughter. As the investigation unfolds, Tori discovers connections to a decades-old missing person case and realizes a potential link between the two incidents. The discovery of a body from fourteen years ago further complicates the case, uncovering a series of terrible crimes within the local community that might stretch back for years, including connections to Tori's own past.
The novel is a story filled with suspense, intricate plot twists, and a race against time to catch a killer. It hints at Tori delving into the secrets of her community and questioning everything she thought she knew about the people she grew up with. The narrative seems to promise a suspenseful and addictive crime thriller that keeps readers engaged and guessing until the very end.
Readers who enjoy thrilling crime mysteries with complex investigations and compelling characters might find "Their Lost Souls" by Roger Stelljes to be a captivating and page-turning read. Stelljes' writing style typically includes vivid descriptions, intricate plotting, and an emphasis on the procedural aspects of crime-solving, providing a sense of authenticity within the crime mystery genre. If you're a fan of Stelljes' previous works or enjoy gripping crime mysteries featuring complex investigations and compelling characters, "Their Lost Souls" might offer another thrilling addition to the "Agent Tori Hunter" series.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced digital copy for my honest review.

Roger Stelljes's brand new book is Their Lost Souls.
This is a first read of Stelljes for me. There are a large number of characters in this series, but the author provides lots of history and detail as to who is who and what has taken place in the past. I easily caught up.
Stelljes has created a great lead with Agent Tori Hunter. She's smart and driven - and has a bit of a dark side when it comes to justice. Braddock - her partner in life - is also her work partner. Stelljes gives his characters (including the supporting players) rich personal lives.
His plotting for Their Lost Souls is unique. A young couple are brutally killed outside their cabin. Who could have done such a thing? The pressure is on from a number of higher ups - they need a result now. A single clue at the cabin catches Tori's interest - and takes her to answers she couldn't have imagined.
I liked it all - the characters, the search for the perpetrators, the quick dialogue, the setting and the continuity!
Their Lost Souls is another action-packed instalment in this exhilarating series.
The case is a really interesting one, weaving between narratives as you find out before Tori who's involved, adding an almost compelling angle to the crimes and unravelling a story full of desperation and suspense.
Although it's over 400 pages long, I flew through as Stelljes's writing flows so easily, and the characters are so engaging. I love these characters and I always enjoy going back to them. There's a lot of great development in this one, and I can't wait to see what happens with them next.
I wouldn't say that this is the most gripping instalment in the series, but it's an easy one to invest in and the twists and turns will keep your attention throughout.
Agent Tori Hunter book 6
When a young couple are found murdered by a remote holiday cabin, Agent Tori Hunter races to the scene: and is devastated to recognize Ally Mannion, a close friend’s daughter, and her boyfriend Reed. Who would want to snatch away their innocent lives?
Another brilliant book in this great series. I was hooked from start to finish and stayed up way too late to finish it. I love this series and can't wait to read the next one.
Tori Hunter # 8 is not as compelling as other installments in this series.
The beginning was electrifying- then plop. After the initial action packed and gripping scene, the suspense fizzled. As the investigation of the crime waned on and on, there wasn’t momentum built because the reader was privy to the criminal perpetrators early on. Therefore, no tension or twists. The pace slowed to a crawl as action didn’t pick up until the 85% mark.
For riveting suspense and an enthralling series by this author, I’d recommend the Ryan McRyan series. I prefer and would recommend Mr. Stelljes’ first series featuring Mac McRyan; Mac’s character is much sharper and more dimensional than Tori. Furthermore, the Mac McRyan series is more edgy, exciting, and suspenseful! Mr. Stelljes is a great story teller and I have read all of the compelling McRyan books! The Tori Hunter series isn’t as compelling IMO.
My thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. ALL opinions expressed are my own.
In "Their Lost Souls," Roger Stelljes weaves a gripping crime mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last.
As Agent Tori Hunter races against time to unravel the brutal murders of a young couple at a lakeside cabin, the plot thickens with every twist and revelation. Stelljes skillfully intertwines past and present, drawing Tori into a web of secrets and crimes that hit close to home.
The narrative's intensity is heightened by the vivid descriptions of the crime scenes and the relentless pursuit of justice.
Tori's character is both relatable and compelling, adding a personal touch to the investigation. The collaboration with Braddock, her partner, brings depth to the story, showcasing their dynamic and shared determination.
Stelljes masterfully builds suspense, connecting seemingly unrelated incidents into a chilling tapestry of crime. The story's pace is relentless, fueled by unexpected turns and a relentless pursuit of truth.
“Their Lost Souls" is a thrilling addition to the Agent Tori Hunter series, offering a rollercoaster of action, mystery, and suspense. I can’t wait to see what the next novel will bring.
Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley, opinions are my own.
Their Lost Souls was my first time reading anything by this author and I highly enjoyed reading this and can not wait to read more by this author. This book was about Tori who is an agent and has to find out who killed Ally and her boyfriend. Even though this is a series I was able to jump right into this book and not feel like I missed something from the other books in the series. The book was filled with twist and turns and the characters are amazing in this book. I would highly recommend this book to others especially if you like to read mystery books. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this amazing book.
Their Lost Souls by Roger Stelljes.
Agent Tori Hunter Book 6.
A couple goes to a cabin to have a bit of fun but little do they know how they will end up dead.
Agent Tori Hunter comes to the scene and recognises Ally one of the bodies. The other is her boyfriend Reed. Who would want to snatch away their innocent lives?
Really enjoyable read. Hooked from page one. I did like Tori and Braddock. I hope there is more to come. 4*.
4.5⭐
When a spate of boat robberies in Manchester Bay turns deadly. Braddock and his girlfriend/partner, former FBI Agent Tori Hunter are desperate to find those responsible. Especially as one of the victims is the daughter of a very close friend. A friend who once saved Tori's life.
But clues are thin on the ground and all they have to go on is the type of knife used. Which unfortunately is common amongst the many fishermen who fish the surrounding lakes.
Yet, one thing does stand out to Tori, and that's the fact these robbers are proficient and have clearly killed before.
Then a lead arises, one that has them visiting a prisoner who is serving fourteen years for handling stolen goods.
But he is reluctant to talk.
Until he hears someone close to him has been murdered and what he shares has Braddock, Tori and the team looking into an old home invasion case.
But then a jewellery store is robbed and resources are stretched especially when another body is found in a vehicle submerged in a lake.
And as the separate investigations come together. Tori and Braddock realise they are searching for the same two men.
Only, it's clear they have help, but from who?
And as the net closes in the danger ramps up. As those desperate do whatever it takes to stay one step ahead.
And with action, twists and turns. This was a cracking read and brilliant addition to a fantastic series and if you've not read any of the series yet. I urge you to do so, as you really won't regret it.
Love Tori Hunter! Lots of twists and turns that you weren't expecting. I think this gave a different perspective to Tori and Braddock as their relationship keeps growing and changing. This is definitely a page turner, and I can't wait for the next book in the series. Thank you to Netgalley for the Advanced copy!
A digital copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and Bookouture. The opinions are my own and freely given.
This is the 6th book in the Agent Tori Hunter series.
When a young couple escapes to weekend cabin for a night alone, the night turns deadly. Reed hears a noise outside and goes to investigate. Soon after, Ally goes to check on Reed and as he is being attacked, he yells for her to call 911. They the killers accomplish goes after Ally. When the police are called to the scene, the investigation leads them to a string of thefts around the area. As Tori and Will Braddock search for the witnesses, suspects, the body count increases.
I love the characters. They all work well together to find the murdered. The plot was right on track with how 1 simple little thing can escalate into murder. This shows how people can get sucked in doing the wrong thing, just one time and it snowballs until it is too late to get out of the situation. This is a fast-paced story that answers all the questions in the investigation.

Stelljes does a great job at ensuring the reader is invested while also providing just enough to get you to keep turning to the next page. A must read in the Tori Hunter series.
There is bit too much fluff writing for my liking, yet I couldn't stop reading. The resolution was gripping and satisfying, arguably the best part of the book!
😲I couldn't put it down! Crime spree at the lakes🌅🛥
I loved the way the seemingly unrelated elements of crime in this murder mystery come together. It's so well-written I did not want the story to end. I am fairly new to the Tori Hunter series; I read the last book in the series and I think this one was even better. I particularly liked the way author Roger Stelljes built Vee's story of hardship. I felt bad for Vee at first and then... Wow, how my perception of her changed!
It had plenty of action, but Tori and Braddock are the thinking man's detectives, constantly reworking the puzzle pieces of information they winkle out to achieve the result. In this case, a good friend's daughter is murdered and they have an extra emotional reason to nab the killers. Soon, they are facing a string of crimes seemingly aimed at the most prosperous residents of their lake side paradise in northern Minnesota.
Great, exciting, fast-paced.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
Their Lost Souls is book 6 in the Agent Tori Hunter series by Roger Stelljes.
Hands down one of my most enjoyable series ever.
Special Agent Tori Hunter and her partner Detective Will Braddock are back!
And Stelljes brings us another action packed, captivating read.
This thrilling suspenseful police procedural was a fun and engrossing story.
The story was exciting and kept me reading to find out what would next be revealed. It was well constructed and fits together seamlessly.
It has the right amount of police procedural, a thrilling mystery, and page-turning action until the very satisfying end.
Thank You NetGalley and Bookouture for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
I finished reading this book and genuinely wondered how I had got through life having not read a book by Roger Stelljes before. What an addictive page turner! After a young couple are found murdered near a lakeside holiday cabin by Agent Tori Hunter it immediately rings alarm bells - not only are the cabins owned by the most affluent in the nearby village, the recent peace has been disturbed by a string of boat thefts, they hadn't caused any serious concern until now - with a boat drifting out on the lake near the scene of the crime, did the couple witness something they shouldn't have? With no recent murders reported, is this simply the case of a burglary gone horribly wrong?
Once I started reading, there was no way to stop. The pace of the book was set from the go, the writing is choppy and charged during car chases (yes, those!) and yet paced but swift when the the contents is more explorative/investigative. No matter what the scenario, the writing was prepared to deliver. There are so many delicious twists and turns within this book that you actually feel like you're watching a cat and mouse chase unfold before your very eyes. I was holding my breath at so many moments as I was reading this and with some of the characters showing grey traits, the reader can only empathise with them; think desperate parents want to give the world to their daughter- they make the most dangerous criminals. It was hard to know whose side you wanted to be on at some points! With thrillers, it is especially entertainin when both the hero and anti-hero are commanding, intelligent, cunning, agile and witty and with Tori and Vee, both female leads, it just made this story that little bit more interesting. An easy 5 star - thank you @netgalley and @Bookouture for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest unedited review!
I have done all the books in this series. I listened to them. This is the first one I did as an ebook. I really enjoyed this book! I've been a big Braddock fan since the beginning and I only like him more after this book. I also like Tori. In this book I really felt for her. To have a another dear friend end up being a terrible person, sucks. I love that she is torn between how she feels about Vee and Maggie. Both are bad people but they handled it differently. I did miss Quinn in this book. He's been more present in other book and was kind of sad he isn't as present in this one. I still want to know how they knew exactly where to cut the duct to access the cables. That wasn't ever answered. Personally, I think Vee and Dan got what they deserved. They didn't earn that restaurant in FL. If there was ever a time to blame Karma, this is it.
This book was a slow burn. It started slowly. There were a lot of references to previous books in the series which I have read but weren’t very memorable. There was a nice pickup of action at about 85% of the way through the book but not sure it was worth the read.
Tori and Will are called to work on a double murder. This case hits close to home as Tori and Braddock know and are friends with one of the victims' fathers. The murders seem to be connected to a string of boat thefts which at least gives the police a starting point to work off of.
This book was pretty fast-paced, and even when the leads seem to dry up, we know something is coming along soon that will jump-start the investigation once again, and once a certain someone gets involved everything ramps up a bit and I couldn't wait to see what Tori was going to do once she figured that part out.
I love seeing Tori and Will working together and seeing them move forward in their personal relationship.
I really love this series, and especially Tori and Braddock, I can't wait to see what kind of case they will be solving next.
