It was so enjoyable to travel back to Hope Harbor for another story about the charming town and its delightful, eclectic inhabitants. Talented author Irene Hannon has once again created an entertaining tale with some new characters and some old friends from previous Hope Harbor books. Vienna Price comes to town to visit her mom, lick her wounds and regroup after losing her job. Veterinarian Matt Quinn is there to help his sister try to resuscitate an old B & B she purchased. With the help of Vienna and a secondary couple, Andrew and Paige, they spruce it up and make new friends along the way. While the plot is fairly predictable, the story is entertaining and easy-to-read. If you’re looking for a sweet, charming summer read, this one’s for you.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from Revell through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Although as sonn as the main characters are introduced it's clear how this is going to end the reading is quite pleasant. It is a model for the way Got uses our dead ends to make all things work for our good.
Sandcastle Inn
Hope Harbor #10
By Irene Hannon
Vienna Price never wanted to lose her place on the corporate ladder. Still, the sacrificed weekends, non-existent holidays, and skipped vacations couldn't save her from the corporate chopping block of restructuring. With a strange desire to see her mom in person (in her not-so-new home in Hope Harbor), Vienna does just that. What she never expected was to put her MBA and work skills to use on a B&B floundering on the edge.
When Matt Quinn responded to his sister's plea for assistance, he never expected his guilt to make him try to help her with the B&B she bought without seeing beyond the realtor's spiel. But what does a veterinarian from San Francisco know about getting a B&B into shape?
Sandcastle Inn takes the reader to Hope Harbor, Oregon, a place where the seagulls know when something special is about to happen. Hope Harbor sounds so full of possibility, and it is, but it doesn't happen overnight. It takes work, but it also offers healing. I love how there was a secondary story of a down-on-their-luck couple Andrew and Paige who are trying to rebuild their lives after being blindsided and betrayed by an employee. I love how these three seemingly unrelated life-changing events bring these people in need of hope together. This a lovely contemporary story. If only everyone could so easily find and embrace their own harbor of hope when they most need it.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.
I loved this story filled with romance and new beginnings. I love Hope Harbor and Charley and the sea gulls. I could not put this book down. I loved Matt, Vienna, Kay and Bev. I would love to find a bookstore like the one Bev runs. I received a copy of the book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
Sandcastle Inn, by Irene Hannon, entails yet another trip to Hope Harbor. Matt Quinn has come to town to help his sister with her newly purchased inn. The property sits on an absolutely beautiful location; however, the inn itself is in need of an overhaul. Vienna Price has returned to Hope Harbor, a town filled with childhood memories, with the hope of a fresh restart in her own life!
Before you know it, Matt and Vienna are teaming up to restore the inn. Matt will do anything to help his sister who has sacrificed so much to help raise him and Vienna adds important skills with her background in finance and marketing. As they begin to work with a young carpenter, the inn seems to be slowly gaining new life!
You will be surprised as you learn more details about the carpenter’s previous and ongoing life. How will these events affect the completion and success of the inn?
When you get a sense that feelings are developing between Matt and Vienna, you wonder what will happen by the final page of this tale. Will their pasts keep them apart or will they move forward together?
This is a Christian Romance read and Book 10 in the A Hope Harbor series. Vienna losses her job and goes back to Oregon to be with her mother and figure out what she is going to do next on her career path. Matt, a veterinarian, forced to take time off, comes to town and help his sister with a run down B&B. When the two meet, they never realized what would bring them together. They decide to work together and get the B&B up to par. When they realize that it is more work than they can do together, they hire a man that has lost everything. Can these three people get the B&B ready in time for the season? Why did these three come together? What is the future for all of these people? Do they get their careers back on track and deal with the past or is it forgiveness, new careers and a fresh start?
I would recommend this book to anyone that wants a book about friendship, goals and forgiveness. It is book 10 of the series, however can be read as a stand alone. I have read a few of the other books in this series and didn't have any problem reading this one. If you like Irene Hannon, you will not be disappointed. If you haven't read one of her books, start now... you will be glad you did. This would be a great summer read for anyone. Taking vacation, take this book with you for relaxation and a great read that takes you away from the world for a few hours.

Irene Hannon brings us back to Hope Harbor in Sandcastle Inn, the tenth book in her series. This installment brings us into the lives of veterinarian Matt Quinn and Vienna Price, a career driven go getter in limbo. In the wake of personal tragedy, Matt finds himself on a working vacation, unprepared for the amount of work it will take to help his sister Kay with her coastal B&B in need of renovation. He desperately needs a contractor and an advisor who is skilled in revamping boutique properties with an image problem. As usual, Hope Harbor delivers in spades, bringing Vienna into his orbit in a way that catches them both off balance.
Sandcastle Inn is a love letter from Hannon to anyone struggling with grief, shame, and family strife. She does not dance around the issues, and though it reads as fiction, she packs a great deal of truth and hope in the storyline. There is no doubt the longtime residents of Hope Harbor we have grown to know and love are patiently guiding forces along the way: Bev, Charley, Father Murphy and Reverend Baker, Floyd and Gladys. Their roles in this book feel like they were written just for this specific storyline, but anyone who has read any of the nine books before will feel the same way about each one. Hannon writes with such familiarity that this is not the first time I have caught myself longing for a vacation to this fictional seaside town, dreaming of a cookie from the jar on the counter at Bev’s Book Nook or tacos and a word of wisdom from Charley. If you are looking for the perfect beach read, your search is over!
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me a copy to read and review. All opinions expressed here are my own and are completely genuine.
It was great to be back in Hope Harbor once again. The taco truck owner Charley continues to be a beloved character as he dispenses food and wisdom. Matt, Vienna, Paige and Andrew were all endearing characters as well. I loved how Paige and Andrew supported each other through the highs and lows of life. Matt was a wonderful brother and support to his sister. I loved how Vienna worked so hard in whatever she did.
Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

I have to say the Hope Harbor series is one of my favorite series. And if even if I’m not a fan of the main romance the secondary characters keep me turning the pages. I loved the secondary characters romance in this one more than the main. As it took me a while to warm up to the heroine mainly because of her relationship with her mom. But by the end I did understand her. Though I have to say that Charlie still remains my favorite character in the series. Sandcastle Inn is a sweet contemporary Christian read.

I really enjoyed this book. As always Irene Hannon's writing captures the reader and draws them into the seaside town of Hope Harbour. I love that there are so many storylines that are woven together to remind the reader of God's love and the love relationships can bring us. It's also great to see the recurring characters throughout the series such as Charley, and the seagulls.
“Sandcastle Inn” by Irene Hannon is an inspiring story of restorative love with highly relatable, large-as-life characters, simply because they are flawed people like everyone else. The main characters, Vienna and Matt have their own unique problems. Can a joint project to revive Sandcastle Inn help to solve them? God works through all things in His own unique way as Matt and Vienna work jointly together to restore the struggling Inn. The Lord graciously allows their souls to be restored as they draw closer to Him, paving the way for them to root their relationship in Christ, with a firm and stable footing. I highly recommend this beautiful book!

Vienna Price returns to Oregon to visit her mom when she is let go from her high powered job in the hotel industry. Planning to stay a few weeks and consider her next position, Vienna finds that her bohemian mother has settled in nicely to small town life. She's even opened a bookstore in Hope Harbor that is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
Matt Quinn is a veterinarian from San Francisco visiting Hope Harbor to help his sister figure out what to do with the worn out B&B she purchased. Needing some space to decompress after a devastating loss, he's not prepared for the amount of work his sister's investment needs.
This was the tenth book in the Hope Harbor series. We’ve always enjoyed this special Oregon-coastal town. Unfortunately, Sandcastle Inn didn’t seem to have the same amount of depth or spiritual content. Vienna had been focused on her career to the exclusion of all else up until she was unexpectedly let go by her company. She began to realize her investment had been misplaced in things that have no eternal value. The best takeaway from this book was seeing the impact Vienna’s mom, Bev, had on other townspeople. She invested in people, had a listening ear, and was an encouragement to everyone who entered her shop.
We received an advance copy from the publisher. This is our honest review.
It is always good to return to Hope Harbor, catching up with old friends & meeting new ones. Charley’s words of wisdom are much appreciated, & don’t we all want to sample his fish tacos?
This is a stand-alone story, but if you are new to the series you will surely want to read the earlier books as well.
A new Irene Hannon is always looked forward to, knowing it will be an enjoyable read - & one to be recommended.
Irene Hannon's Hope Harbor series continues to be amazing! This latest installment--book 10 (wow!!)--is no exception.
Revisiting the town always does my heart good; its recurring characters (Charley! Floyd and Gladys! Eleanor--and her chocolate cake) bring a smile to my face, even if I'm still waiting for tacos--or cake--to materialize IRL. Ha!
The whole series, _Sandcastle Inn_ included, reminds me of a lighter version of Mitford: a place and characters to lean into, thoroughly get to know, and enjoy over and over again. For this particular book, I especially enjoyed the character of Vienna's mom, Bev; I could really relate to her perspective in discussions with Vienna on singlehood and renting vs. buying.
I'm especially happy to have discovered that at least one more book in the series will be coming soon ("soon" haha)! I'm not ready to say goodbye to the town or its inhabitants, and Hannon continues to pump out solid material. Many series fizzle after a few installments, but thankfully, this is not one of them. :)
I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Sandcastle Inn took us back to the coast of Oregon, to Hope Harbor where characters go to recoup and take a break from their crazy life.
Both Matt and Vienna found themselves in Hope Harbor to get some well-deserved R&R after their lives did not work out as planned. Matt’s story was heart breaking.
Though Matt and Vienna both had ideas and plans for Hope Harbor to only be a temporary rest stop to get them back to their plans for their lives, through circumstances, meetings, a strong connection and wisdom from Charley and Bev, they discovered that God’s plans might include a longer stay.
This is the tenth book in the series, though each book can be read as a stand-alone.
I’ve read other books by this author but I didn’t realize this one was part of a series. Even though it’s number 10 in the series, it read like a standalone. It’s a great story of redemption, reflection and finding a new path in life. The characters are very likable and the whole story is great.
Vienna Price never planned on going to Oregon. But her circumstances changed drastically when she lost her job. Her mother wants her to share her home with her. But they have never really saw eye to eye on things. Matt Quinn never planned on going to Oregon. But a call from his sister sends him to her aid. Matt's sister has just purchased a very rundown B&B and wants his help restoring it. Vienna's former job is to renovate hotels. Hope Harbor does it again with two hurting souls. I really enjoyed reading this book.
I was given this book by Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
Peaceful and restorative
This was a great addition to the Hope Harbor books! I loved that Charley played a bigger role in this book. It's so comforting to return to the town of Hope Harbor. I loved the cameos from past books, but this book could stand on its own. I would rate this book G/PG for kisses only. I can't wait to read more from Irene Hannon, especially more Hope Harbor books!
SANDASTLE INN is a sweet story about fresh starts, forgiving yourself, letting go, and pushing through when life is difficult. It's about family, friendship, trust, and love. Fans of clean romance, Christian romance and this author will enjoy spending time in this cozy beach town with these lovable characters.
This was a nice escape read and perfect for readers looking for a beach read. I enjoyed these characters from the start. They're flawed and complicated while also being likable and people I'd love to have as family or friends in real life. There's also two different storylines, the first on two characters who are supposed to be visiting and find themselves slipping into love, and second a married couple who are trying to find their way. I liked the first storyline the most while also finding the second enjoyable. I love that initial shock of chemistry between two people and watching them fall in love. I thought the author did a good job letting these characters figure things out and work through their challenges to sweet, happy endings, which allowed for a bit of character development. The inspirational elements were weaved through well and didn't feel forced. I also really enjoyed the story and the setting. Who wouldn't want to escape to a cozy seaside town and a bed and breakfast under renovation? Plus one of the characters owns a bookshop. It was a nice little escape and rejuvenation as a reader.
In the end, was it what I wished for? This was an enjoyable story from beginning to end. It was a great setting, with lovable characters, and a sweet romance. Definitely a recommended read!

Hope Harbor is a place where people go when they need a break from life, trying to figure out where to go next, or when there is no other place to go. This is where we find our characters as they enter into Hope Harbor with weight on their shoulders, and their hope just about run out.
Vienna has come back to Hope Harbor because she lost her job. She is nothing like her mother, who is much more of a free spirit. Their relationship was a highlight of this book. An older daughter coming back home because she has nowhere else to go and she still carries the same bias against her mother. I like how their relationship grew and became better, when Vienna opened her eyes and saw her mother for the person she was and that her mother was also growing, their healing could begin.
Matt has come to Hope Harbor hoping to not only help his big sister Kay with her newly acquired Sandcastle Inn purchase, but also to get a much-needed mental health break. Matt's backstory is tragic and he, understandably is still reeling from it. And even though when he meets Vienna and is attracted to her, he is sure there is no more chance of love for him. That is what he has chosen.
Then there is a young couple who have lost everything. All of these people descend on Sandcastle Inn, an Inn that Matt believes is the biggest mistake his sister could have made. But maybe, just maybe, this Inn is what they all need. You never know in Hope Harbor.
