Fantastic resource and plan for really learning and using the Tarot. Ward does a great job of exploring each of the cards, and gives great ideas for how to incorporate them in your daily life.

I just love tarot books. So this one is no exception. Even if you know the basics you will find new ideas for you daily spreads.

I am trying to make it a habit to pull a tarot card of the day. I am just getting into all things tarot, so I am reading as much as I can about it.

A great help to my tarot practice! As someone still learning, this was very helpful!

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

This book takes a closer look at single card readings. The author argues that sometimes multiple card spreads can get too complicated or frustrating for some folks. Nothing wrong with a spread, but sometimes one card can do the job, and this book can show you how. In addition, as the author writes in her dedication, this book can help you put some of your dusty neglected decks to use. That is some added value.

The book is arranged into two major parts:

12 card-of-the-day Tarot rituals. Here you find a variety of readings and rituals to try out with your cards.
Card interpretations for one-card-draws. Here are entries with interpretations for each card.

The rituals can vary in complexity. Some may ask you to include additional materials, such as crystals. The rituals may also include activities such as meditations. Some rituals may include lists of questions you could ask the cards; I found that to be a useful feature. The card interpretation entries offer meanings based on categories such as affirmation, life lesson, do this, and yes or no. The idea is you can do one of the rituals, and a ritual may suggest you use one category or another. Naturally, you can use the meanings on their own, perhaps as another tool to help you learn and study Tarot further.

The card entries for the Major and Minor Arcana are the same in terms of content; I appreciate the author did not skimp on the Minor Arcana. The overall structure between rituals and meanings is simple, and it works. How much or how little you do of the rituals is up to you. Feel free to make adjustments as needed for your practice.

One feature I wished the book developed a bit more is how to ask and craft questions for reading the cards. This would be in addition to the lists of questions already provided in rituals. That aside, this is a very good book overall. I like the idea of using single cards to make learning and working with Tarot a bit easier. I can see myself getting some good from the book.

I would recommend the book for beginners. I'd also recommend it for some intermediate folks seeking some new card reading ideas, or as the author suggests, to bring back out some deck you may not have used in a while.

I recommend it for libraries that collect Tarot and other esoteric materials.

On a final note, the art featured in the book is very nice and evocative. If the artist made a full Tarot deck with that art I would consider buying that deck.

Card of the Day Tarot is a beautiful edition with enough knowledge for those who are being introduced to the tarot reading world.

For those looking for a welcoming beginner-friendly book about divination with tarot, I think Kerry Ward is a good option, though I have my "complaints" that I'll later explain:
The strongest point this book brings to the table is the beautiful art by Adam Oehlers and Ward's approach to tarot. This is a guide centered on Kerry Ward's method more than anything, and she is opening herself and letting us see her own view of the cards, method, and spirituality. It's, at the end of the day, a book infused with personality and love for teaching.

Here is the thing, I expected something more broad, and though I enjoyed the perspective on the layered cards of the tarot, I felt that I wouldn't be able to take it out of the "Card of the day" context by itself. With this I mean, with something as Tarot is hard not to be too generic, but also be tricky when you're too specific.
So, if I put myself in the position of knowing nothing of the cards I feel like the book is lacking.
If you know some generic things, then things change and it can become more useful.

This book is truly stunning. The illustrations are beautiful and the rituals and ideas presented as really brilliant. I also love the descriptions of each card and the way to do one card readings. I would highly recommend this book for anyone beginning their tarot journey.

Thank you Net Galley for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I loved this book! I would still categorize myself in the beginner to intermediate level within Tarot but still found the information very helpful.

This is an easy and informative guide to one card tarot pulls. I look forward to adding this to my collection.

I really loved this book. I liked the suggestions for how to incorporate tarot into your daily life (although some of them seemed a bit more time-consuming and then I could manage on a daily basis) and I appreciated the author's conversational tone when breaking down the messages of the individual cards (and the fact that she didn't limit herself to the Waite-Smith deck). She made the cards so relatable. This was the first tarot book I've read in a while that I found to be completely useful!

I'm so glad I was able to read this ahead of publication and I look forward to buying a hard copy once it's available.

A brilliant insightful reference book for one card readings of Tarot. I loved the format which made looking at Tarot quite fun. A very useful book to have if you enjoy using Tarot in any form.

This is a quick guide on how to use one-card spreads. Detailing different rituals for one card tarot, this book simplifies how to use the tarot. It also provides detailed explanations for each of the 78 cards.

Unfortunely I downloaded this ARC the day it was archived and was not able to download the file on my iPad to read fully. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, but I did not have the time to read the content and try out the tarot reading as I would have hoped.

This book is full of useful information about how to use the tarot, how to prepare yourself and wind down afterwards and gives information on different situations when you may need to use the tarot eg for love, reflection or career.

Each card of the tarot is discussed succinctly so you aren’t faced with a wall of text to try to interpret. The illustrations are beautiful which is to be expected from the talented Adam Oehlers.

The idea of pulling one tarot card instead of doing complicated spreads is very appealing as a daily practice and it is presented very well here in this book. I recommend this for all lovers of tarot, whether beginner or advanced.

This is a lovely book and I enjoyed the practices given to understand tarot and your questions. It is easy to read and understand. The only issue is that it doesn't go in-depth enough with all of the arcana.

A lovely book with beautiful illustrations, the artwork is gorgeous. Making tarot into a ritual and simplifying it with one-card draws. Easy to follow and digest, I only wish there were the beautiful illustrations for every card.

Interesting read
This makes a good introduction to Tarot card reading. It's simple for those of us who dread that huge tome to start out. I've had the cards for years and did not try, but I plan to start out with the info here and if I can master that move onto the book I received with them...maybe. This was easier to grasp.
I requested and received a NetGalley arc to peruse gratis and offer my opinion in the same.

This is a lovely book. It is beautifully illustrated and perfect for a young beginner. If only one of my nieces had a witchy vibe. That said, the tarot/metaphysical beginners of the 2020s are so fortunate. Kerry Ward packs a lot of info into this book. I loved the zodiac correspondences and the day to day interpretations. She gives a lot of food for thought for a wide variety of questions. Too often beginner books were just padded junk [80s 90s 00s] but today’s books truly educate more often than not.
