This book is one of those reads that kept me on edge through the whole story. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was so wrong. It’s such an amazing psychological thriller. This was my first book of the author but I’m definitely keeping an eye on her books.

It’s a fast-paced thriller told from different points of view and is kind of a roller-coaster of emotions, in one moment I adore the main characters and the next I hate them which was kind of nice. The twists and turns of this story were one of the highlights of the book.

I recommend this book to all the people who enjoys a good suspense thriller full of intrigues and mystery. But brace yourselves because this is a great scandalous twisted book. I devoured it in just a couple of hours.

Thank you, NetGalley & the publisher, for approving me to read this arc and write this review.

Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.

When Paige Nichols meets her husband’s glamorous new colleague at a faculty mixer, she instantly knows they’re having an affair. It’s the way he looks at her, like she’s the only woman in the world. Aaron used to look at her like that, too. And with her beautiful, knowing smile, Cara Morton seems to enjoy flaunting their romance right under her nose.

The book is written well enough but some of the scenarios are a little contrived and others seem irrelevant to the story. The story flows along well enough with twists and turns along the way. It’s written from different people’s points of view and chapters are before and after so it gets a little confusing at times but not so bad you can’t keep with the flow. I found it quite boring in places and there is lots of repetition as the different points of view describe the same event. Plus, unfortunately, I guessed most of the twists which are spoon-fed to the reader. Not for me I’m afraid.

7/10

This was a thriller that was absolutely full of twists and turns. Every time I thought I had it figured out it surprised me once again. The thing that I really couldn't get past though that kept it from being truly great is all the incredibly dumb decisions that the supposedly smart (most characters have a PhD) characters kept making. Overall though the story was really entertaining and always kept me on my toes. Also as someone from the Cleveland area myself I enjoyed all the little Cleveland, and just general Ohio, references.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for giving me the opportunity to review this book.

This was a busy book! So many story lines and plots ! It was hard to keep track of everything that was going on.
I also feel that the mentioning of race so many times in this book was unnecessary and used for no specific reason.
It was hard for me to connect with any of the characters. None of them was really likeable or relatable.

All in all this was a quick read and kept you guessing right up till the end

This book starts off by a typical husband cheats on wife scenario and then mistress disappears, but it's so much more than that. Everyone has secrets and telling half truths. There's so many twists and turns. Character storylines are intertwined in ways you wouldn't guess.

I couldn't put this book down. I loved the short chapters and the multiple POVs. I honestly had no idea the twists that just kept coming. I would definitely recommend this book for suspense / mystery lovers.

Thank you to Netgalley, Angela Henry, and the publisher for this free ebook ARC. This review is 100% my own and honest opinion.

Wow, was I hooked after the first chapter. If you’re looking for a fast paced thriller, this one is the one for you! i never saw the twists coming and there were SO. MANY. Really enjoyed it this one and would definitely recommend it.

College professor Aaron Nicholls career is going well, recently promoted to head of year he's respected by his pupils and his colleagues he's got a nice office and a secretary. He's also got the attention of Cara Morton a recent addition to the faculty staff and suddenly she's missing and everything he's worked so hard for is at risk

A fast paced thriller that told in a before and after dual storyline from different points of view, certainly kept me on my toes. The characterisation was good, the twists kept coming and it kept me guessing right til the end. Defintely recommended for those who like domestic thrillers.

Due for publication 15th January '24. My thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the advance copy, I was under no obligation and all opinions expressed are my own

Holy moly !! What an unputdownable, scandalous, and shocking read. In this twisted book, Angela Henry captures themes of betrayal, secrecy and wittiness in both her character and plot development. There are so many moving parts that makes this book a fast-paced read. Each characters story is very compelling, so who can you really believe? And more importantly, trust?

I was happily surprised with not only the outcome but how this book unraveled. My only criticism of this book is that I would have loved to know what were the "victims" last thoughts before they died, because I am sure they wanted the last word...

If this book is not on your radar, YOU'RE WELCOME, because it is now. Don't write this one off as just another affair, it is SO much more than that, I mean it's the perfect affair, right?

This is my first book by Angela Henry but it won’t be my last. I finished it in four days and staying up late to finish it too. I thought I had figured everything out but oh boy I didn’t! I saw something happening but wasn’t sure what specifically outcome was. I went through a love and hate relationship with both the main characters as in one breath they’d make me feel sorry for them then in next breath I’d want to chuck the kindle in annoyance.

I loved some of the secondary characters but some I hated too, it’s hard to say much about this book without spoiling it. I’d recommend you read it but only if you have a few days to spare.

It’s out 15th January

Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers for providing me with a copy in exchange for an review and Angela for writing it.

Was The Perfect Affair … perfect? In my humble opinion, no, but that's just me. It was certainly twistier than a multi-loop rollercoaster and kept me on my toes throughout. I just got a bit confused at times. But the ending had me gasping and there were some stand-out lines. Too many to list, but I did honk with laughter at this one — 'But she's a technophobe the likes of which I've never seen and forcing her to teach online is a cruel and unusual punishment for a woman who once thought a URL was some type of urinary tract infection.' Oh, how I identified there!
I loved the writing style and would definitely read more by the author. My thanks to Storm Publishing for my advance copy of the book.

The start of this book is captivating and I was always wondering how things were going to play out. I did feel like somethings were unrealistic and far fetched. The last 15% of the book felt rushed. The twist were good, but again unrealistic. There were so many layers and connections it was a bit overwhelming.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I can't say I didn't like it, because that's not the case, but it wasn't an easy story to read. This story has a lot of things happening simultaneously, and I had to go back and read some aspects again, otherwise I wouldn't be able to follow the story.
A very positive point was the fluid writing.
If you are a reader who has time to read the story without pausing the book too often, this story is perfect for you. In my case, as I don't have much time, that must be why I wasn't able to get the most out of this story.

Had me hooked, and the premise was, whilst done before in a way, just never fails to have me gripped. LOVE this kind of thing. The plot was a little confusing in some parts because of the timeline, but that's just my brain. On the whole, though, brilliant!

Incredibly gripping! College professor has an affair with a glamorous much younger coworker. His wife finds out, but will it end? Will his mistress let them move on? If you’ve seen “obsessed” with Beyoncé and Ali Larter, you may draw some comparisons at parts.

I could not put this book down. The chapters were short enough that I “one more”ed myself into two late nights in a row reading!

The high rating is because I was so hooked, however, this is 4 stars because things got pretty twisted to the point that it was fairly unbelievable. I am surprised I’m not able to come up with plot holes because of how convoluted this book is. Also, without spoilers, I think the epilogue made the book even more far fetched. I think it could have ended prior to that.

With that said, if you love domestic thrillers, you’ll probably be hooked and not be able to put it down, but feel a bit confused at the end.

The Perfect Affair kept me guessing up until the end. The husband, Aaron has reached a point in his marriage where he feels that he is not happy and is not getting the attention he requires. Thus, to fulfill the lack of attention, he instantly connects with the new employee at the university Cara whom he believes will fill the void in his marriage. The grass is not always greener on the other side and Cara comes with a very checkered past that will become the downfall of Aaron. There are secrets everywhere! This book kept me engaged and I highly recommend it. #netgalley #theperfectaffair

This book started off pretty slow but it picked up and held my attention. It was a good book and had several twists that i did not see coming.

I really liked the storyline of this one, but the execution fell a little short. I typically like alternating POVs and timelines, but I found myself turning the pages back and forth because I kept losing what was going on! I did enjoy all of the twists (as an avid thriller reader, it takes a lot of throw me off!), but the slower pacing took away from their potential - I think a different writing pace would be a game changer for this one! Even though this one was alright for me, I think it would make for a great book club discussion piece. Thanks so much for the ARC!

I received an ARC copy of The Perfect Affair and I could not put this book down. I was hooked at the first page. The title is The Perfect Affair but for one of the main characters Aaron it was nothing perfect about it. I love a book that keeps me guessing and I definitely could not figure out what was going to happen next. Aaron has reached a point in his marriage where he is not happy and is not getting the attention he needs. In comes Cara the new addition to the university and he instantly connects with her. Aaron thinks he has found someone who will fill that void little does he know Cara has a checkered past and it will lead to his downfall. All of the characters have secrets they are keeping that will be exposed and will definitely shock you. This is definitely a page turner and will keep you engaged.
