3.5 ⭐ This book follows Aaron Nichols who just secured a high ranking job at his university where he is a professor. While in this position he starts an affair with another professor Cara Morton. Soon his wife Paige finds out and soon after that Cara goes missing, leading to Aaron being a primary suspect.
This book has many twists and turns, multiple POV's which go from before Cara went missing to after. The ending of this book was wild, however, in my opinion did a little too much a was a little too out there in terms of believability for my liking.
This book was incredibly fast and easy to read and was a first from this author. I did like the story enough to check out other works from this author in the future. Thank you to Netgalley, Storm Publishing, and the author for the eARC of this book !!
I couldn't connect with the characters and the mystery here just ended up being waaaay too convoluted for my tastes. This one just didn't do it for me.
The perfect affair starts off as any book with a cheating husband does. A younger woman at work starts giving Aaron special attention and flattering him, making his wife seem like an old bore who doesn’t love him enough. I thought I knew which direction this book was headed in, when out of nowhere the affair is stopped. I was wondering, which direction will the book go in now? The affair has barely even started. This book goes in every direction! There is so much going on with every single character, you’ll get whiplash trying to figure it all out. I didn’t guess a single thing about this book. It was surprise after surprise. You’ll never know what’s coming next. An amazing page turner with some killer twists-- highly recommend!
An unfaithful husband, an alluring coworker, a faithful & loving wife. When Aaron ends his affair with his coworker Cara after realising she’s not the girl he fell for Cara takes this poorly & goes after the couple and their children. When Cara goes missing the married couple become the number one suspects.. I enjoyed this and the premise was interesting but it did feel a little clumpy. It didn’t flow as well as I was hoping however it is still a really fun read! I’m a big fan of whodunnits & thrillers so unless it was terrible which luckily it wasn’t this was always going to be a winner in my eyes.
I want to first thank Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I would rate this book a 4.25 stars. This was my first book by Angela Henry and it will not be my last! This is a dual POV focused on Aaron and his wife Paige, as well as flashbacks from Cara during her youth. From the beginning I thought I had everything figured out and I was wrong! I honestly thought I was not going to finish this book due to the heavy focus on Aaron's affair however, the complexity of the plot kept me sucked in. This book is about so much more than an affair!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FIVE STARS for this sordid tale!
THE PERFECT AFFAIR did what I love which is it jumped off the page from page one. Angela Henry came out swinging in the first chapter. I found myself drawing conclusions, which we all do of course, but there were so many clues dropped throughout the book that I kept changing my mind. I just didn’t know where this was going to end up.
After Aaron has an affair and Paige find out, he agrees to end it so they can save their marriage and keep their family together. However, after his cocky no shame in her game mistress turns up dead, all eyes are on Aaron. Paige wants to stand by her husband but is he being honest with her? And what is she not telling him?
The characters in this book were great and the plot was outstanding. I highly recommend this book for all lovers of domestic suspense, mysteries and thrillers!
Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC!
This story started off really well but then I think it got far too confusing! So many characters seemed to pop up all at once, a few with fake names, I found the middle section hard to keep up with! But the ending was good and the twist was well told x
The Perfect Affair by Angela Henry

Thank you to @Netgalley and @stormbooks_co for the eARC of The Perfect Affair by Angela Henry. This novel starts off strong and pulls you in right away. Get ready for a wild ride!
Aaron Nichols, an English Professor/Chair has an affair with the young new sexy professor, Cara. Things get real when his wife, Paige finds out about his affair and when Cara goes missing, Aaron is the main suspect. The story is written with multiple POVs (Aaron, Paige and Detective Alonso), jumps from before/after timeline and has Fatal Attraction vibes. It did get a little overwhelming for me with all the characters and trying to keep track of all their secrets. Fast and suspenseful read, the author has you on a roller coaster ride of twisty turns and it seemed like every character had their own dirty little secret. Great domestic psychological thriller that makes you go, “what just happened?”. Out now, free on #kindleunlimited and .99 on Amazon ebook #netgalley #stormbooks #angelahenry #theperfectaffair
This book was a page turner for me! Loved the twist because I didn’t see them coming. I read this in one sitting.
This was a very complicated story with lots of characters and different threads. Eventually all was revealed and answered by the conclusion. Interesting story
This book is chock full of unreliable characters - - jealous wives, husbands that can't be trusted and other sketchy characters. If you were presented with the question of "what would you do to protect your family?" - - what would you be willing to do?
This book is completely twisty with a husband drawn to a co-worker to the extent that he shirks all responsibilities at home and makes his wife feel neglected and barely pays his children any attention. The story is complicated when she figures out that he has a relationship going on with another woman and gives him an ultimatum. It gets further chaotic when the other woman begins to do crazy things to him and the family. And this is only the beginning....
I really enjoyed this twisty little tale about infidelity and all the nasty repercussions. Even though I am often tired of reading the same stories about men that can't seem to be loyal, this one had some good twists to it that made it a good and different read.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I really enjoyed the audiobook. It was well narrated and kept me engrossed in the story. It's definitely worth a listen. 4 stars
Thank you to NetGalley for early copies of both the ebook and audiobook.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! This was the best book! I read it in one day! I would definitely recommend this book. The twists were amazing and I didn't see some coming!
An UNPUTDOWNABLE domestic thriller that I absolutely LOVED! This fully deserves my 5 star rating! Thank you to @netgalley and storm publishing for my arc in exchange of my review!
Aaron has always been faithful and committed to his wife Paige, then comes along Cara Morton, his beautiful, sexy and alluring co-worker. Cara is everything his wife is not…open, welcoming, an empathetic ear. A drink at a bar turns into a full blown affair in which Aaron get caught and has to make a choice. Aaron eventually chooses his wife, whom he loves deeply, after seeing Cara for who she really is. A coked-up mess who takes advantage of her looks to get what she wants.
A pissed off Cara does not take their break up lightly and exacts revenge on the married couple. She even goes so low as to target their children. Then one day Cara goes missing and both Aaron and Paige are prime suspects.
So many twists and turns, shocking revelations are abound in this thrilling novel! Do not miss out!

This story has an intriguing premise but it fell flat in execution. It's a clunky story that is rushed and glossed over in some places while slow and overly wordy in others. I skimmed and skipped through to finish.
Aaron Nichols is going through a midlife crisis. The English college professor, recently promoted to department chair, has his head turned by his younger, stunning colleague Cara Morton. Despite the fact that he is married to his loving wife Paige with whom he has two children.
The affair is short lived however as Cara soon reveals her true colours and Aaron realises his enormous mistake. Is it too late however? When Cara goes missing, all eyes turn to Aaron and he must now turn to those he betrayed for support. Do we ever really know the people with whom we are involved?
A twisty thriller with flawed characters whom you will love to hate. And the final chapter is worth the wait!
The Perfect Affair is the perfect edge-of-your-seat thriller!
A college professor, caught cheating by his wife with another professor, who then goes missing. Sounds simple enough, right?
Whoa! The twists and turns in the book with give you whiplash yet keep you 100% on your toes! I never would have guessed the ending.
Thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC in return for my honest opinion.

This book is about Aaron, a college professor, and his wife, Paige. When Aaron has an affair with a colleague, Cara, and she then goes missing, he is the prime suspect in her disappearance.
Oh my gosh, this book! I swear I have whiplash from the twists and turns. Every single character is keeping secrets, which you learn throughout the book. I found myself talking to the characters, because I couldn't believe some of the things they were doing. I was saying, "What is wrong with you? Why are you doing that?" LOL But that is what makes this book so very good. It keeps you glued to the pages. I never guessed where Cara was or who the suspect was. I never imagined that ending! It was crazy and took me by surprise.
If you like psychological thrillers, you will love this book! It will definitely keep you guessing, and you will want to keep turning the pages as fast as you can to find out what happens. I highly recommend it.
This is a debut author for me so I went into it hoping that I would enjoy the writing style and I absolutely did. I love a good domestic thriller which packs a punch and this one didnt disappoint.
Cheating, disappearances, secrets a plenty and just all round anxiety when turning the pages
I loved this one
4 stars
I was pulled into this one from the start, it is a suspenseful story with lots of twists and I never saw the ending coming the way it did, it did keep me guessing and changing my mind many times as the clues the clues were uncovered.
Aaron is happily married to Paige and they have eight year old twins Bailey and Bryce, Aaron is a professor at the university and Paige a nurse, when Aaron is given a promotion the pressure is on, he is spending more time at work and Paige already has a stressful job she can feel them drifting apart and when she turns up to a faculty mixer she knows that Aaron is having an affair, with a colleague Dr. Cara Morton and Cara seems to be flaunting that she is.
When Paige insists that he end it Aaron agrees and Paige believes him, they need to save their marriage for their family, but it appears that Aaron is not strong enough and soon there are accusations from Cara and it appears Aaron may lose his job, Paige stands by her husband but when Cara goes missing and Aaron becomes the prime suspect, can she trust him to be truthful, after all she also holds secrets that no one knows herself, will they come through unscathed, what secrets will be uncovered and will they ever discover what really happened?
Both Aaron and Paige are determined to get to the truth and do a bit of investigating themselves and what they discover is shocking.
I do highly recommend this one there are many fabulous characters, good and bad and it is sure to keep any mystery, thriller reader turning the pages as all is uncovered and reveled, with a twist.
My thanks to the publisher Storm and Netgalley for my digital copy to read and review.
The first part of this book had a great premise and I was fully invested in the dynamics occurring between characters. By the end I hated everyone and felt like the wheels had fallen off. It felt very convoluted, and the number of random suspects kept growing.
I do prefer to feel a little sympathy for the victim but I couldn’t do it here.
In saying that, I wasn’t bored and the book flew by in an entertaining style.
