It took me a little bit to get into this one, but I ended up really enjoying it. I love this author and she's a drop everything author for me. This one didn't disappoint. I thought I had everything figured out, but I did not. She still threw some curveballs my way and I liked how she tied this one up at the end. If you like her books, I think you will love this one! Thanks to publisher for my copy!

With its small-town setting and its family drama, Home Is Where The Bodies Are stole my heart. You will enjoy this title if you like fast-paced thrillers with jaw-dropping conclusions. Rose’s writing is very reminiscent of Sally Hepsworth’s and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.

Another 5 star read by Jeneva Rose! This book was spooky, suspenseful and unputdownable! Loved every second of it.

I might be bias with my review since I love Jeneva Rose way of writing. Her stories are captivating and when you think you have figured it out she proves you wrong. This book is twisted and definitely has ruined home videos for me. Lol as always the queen has delivered a dramatic mystery!

Siblings settling their mother's estate see a dead body hidden in their childhood backyard while watching old home movies.

While this read was slow to pick up, it ultimately had a really satisfying ending. This title featured a memorable sibling story, a twisty twist, and was (I think) the first of the VHS cover craze. A longtime fan of Jeneva Rose's social media presence, her writing holds up as well!

T.R. Knox's Some Is Where the Bodies Are is a chilling psychological mystery that explores buried secrets in a small town. The story follows Lily, a retired journalist, as she returns to her hometown to investigate long-forgotten deaths. Her search for truth is intertwined with themes of memory, guilt, and the deceptive nature of the past.

Knox crafts a tense, atmospheric setting, making the town itself feel like a character. With well-developed characters and a slow-building suspense, the novel culminates in a shocking conclusion. Though the pacing is deliberate, the payoff is worth it for fans of psychological thrillers. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

Pleasantly surprised because I did not guess the murderer correctly! Small town, family tension vibes.

This was a very easy and quick to read book. However, I found the characters to be under-developed and the plot to be predictable. Overall, a fun afternoon read if you're not looking for something too deep or intricate.

While the plot was intriguing, I DNF'd around 30% into the audiobook. I felt that too much information was revealed early on, and it kept me from wanting to come back and find out more. The writing was fine, but a little more cliché-heavy than I expected from Jeneva Rose.

Although I had it figured out pretty early on, I couldn't wait to keep reading! This was a quick read for fans of the thriller/suspense genre.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC.

Received a digital ARC of this book via NetGalley.

This was my fourth book by this author. As someone who reads a lot of mystery/suspense, I never guess her twists. I like that her work is not gory, raunchy, or full of excess fluff. This was a fast paced novel that takes you through the hidden secrets of a family that become exposed to once they dig out the home videos.

Home is Where the Bodies Are, is another great story told by Jeneva Rose. It delves into family dynamics and sibling relationships that are most likely extremely relatable to readers. The story held a good mystery and kept me intrigued until the very end. Unfortunately, the ending left something to be desired and was not nearly as shocking as her other books. I would recommend this to any mystery readers who are interested in a good story along the way,

A great book! One of Jeneva Rose's best. I loved the character development of each sibling. It was refreshing to read realistic emotions and reactions to situations and experiences that the characters faced, especially when they started to not trust each other.

What would you do if you discovered a dark family secret? This is the dilemma facing estranged siblings Beth, Michael and Nicole. Of the three, Beth is the only one who remains close to the family home in Wisconsin and she’s the one that hears their dying mothers incomplete deathbed confession. Michael arrives first from San Jose, having stayed away for years, whilst addict Nicole is in a mess in more ways than one. Later, when the will is read they’re all in for a number of surprises. Not only that but in a desperate attempt to recapture some nostalgia from happier times, they watch some videotapes. They choose one from 1999 which shockingly shows their father covered in blood and there’s even worse to come. Does this have anything to do with the disappearance of their father seven years ago? Whatever will the three of them do?? The story is told in dual timelines and in four narratives.

I’ve been curious about Jeneva Roses’ novels for a while and I’m impressed, especially with the quality of the characterisation. All of them are flawed to a greater or less a degree and therefore not necessarily likeable but that does add another dimension to the tone of the novel.

There are several layers to the story telling such as the relationship between the siblings and the family dysfunction as well as the mystery of the confession and what’s on the tape. This family are the very epitome of dysfunction and this is a very effective part of the plot.

The storytelling is lively and visual, in fact, this would make a great movie or miniseries. The four points of view and the dual timelines work really well allowing secrets to bubble to the surface organically, deepening the intrigue. It’s all told at a quick pace, it’s easy to read with plenty of dramatic tension. There are some twists which pull you up sharply and which I don’t foresee. The conclusion is good, perhaps a tad overdramatic but it is exciting and that’s what counts.

Overall, my curiosity is more than satisfied and I’ll happily read other books by this author.

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Orion Publishing Group for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

Thank you to netgalley for providing an e-galley for review. Home is Where the Bodies Are is what would happen if you had a found footage of your seemingly benign parents hiding a dead body, and you have to watch it with your estranged siblings. This was so mych fun to read. Who was this deada body, who killed them, and how were the parents involved. Secrets are hidden from everyone, especially from family.
