Summer has only one thing on her mind since she left her parents' house and changed her name. Somehow she is going to establish herself as a Hollywood actress, no matter what role she gets or whether she has to start in a small amphitheater while working for a hotel complex on a remote island
.
What wasn't in her plans is the new rental employee and water sports instructor Ben, who in addition to being good looking doesn't stop trying to flirt with her with the most cheesy lines. From the first conversation the tension between the two escalates and while Ben continues to insist on trying to get closer and show her that he is not a bad person, she does the impossible to stay away from him
.
But when a problem arises with the co-star of the play and the director decides that Ben is the only one who can save the production, Summer has to cast aside restrictions for the good of the play her career and her heart
.
It was a very fun read, I always enjoy a good enemies to lovers, all the bantering and bickering that changes when one of the characters lets their guard down, especially when he is the one who falls first and does everything to gain a chance to show her that it was a mistake and win her heart little by little
.
the endearing side characters really made me want to read the whole series and wait for the next books to come
.
Thanks to Savannah Scott and her team for give me a copy of this Beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

Another brilliant romantic escape from Savannah Scott! I seriously am addicted to her writing style and can get so lost in the stories that I barely notice they are clean (only kissing)… Sweet and swoony!

I read books one and two (this one) in this series back-to-back to make sure I was as up-to-date on all the details as I could be, wouldn’t forget any characters or get lost on anything. I’m glad I did because the beginning of this one overlaps with the ending of the first and the characters are extremely interlinked. Ben is on the road trip in book one and we get to know a lot about him, and we meet Summer when they arrive at the island resort to start working, and about how much she dislikes him at first meeting.

This book continues on from there and how Ben tries to win Summer over - because everyone else loves him! She’s acting in a play on the island so he watches it, helps her run lines, visits with her old friends, and steps in when she has family issues to deal with. He becomes indispensable in an attempt to make sure that she, like everyone else, loves him - because he’s pretty sure it was love at first sight for him. She does her best to stay away, though!

I loved every second of this book, even more than the road trip, and binged it so fast! I definitely recommend it to all - being a clean romance it is good for all audiences. I still have a couple of her other Bordeaux books to finish so you’ll find me back in Ohio!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and this is my honest feedback.

A Fish Out of Water is yet another absolutely delightful rom-com from Savannah Scott. Savannah just has a way of crafting totally lovable characters. And the moment we meet Ben and he gets shot down by Summer I knew I was going to enjoy their enemies-to-lovers journey. Ben is used to every girl drooling over him so he’s vexed by Summer’s instant rejection. Summer has dreams of becoming a famous actress, the last thing she needs in her life right now is a guy, especially a guy like Ben. Naturally love has other plans for these two. Wonderful characters, an excellent story, and Savannah’s trademark humor makes this a rom-com you won’t want to miss out on. I’d like to thank the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an eARC of A Fish Out of Water.

A Fish Out Of Water by Savannah Scott
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨ 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀-𝘁𝗼-𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 & 𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘆-𝘅-𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗰𝗼𝗺! 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗻 & 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿!

✨Ben is the handsome, charming, harmless flirt, Californian surfer boy. Summer is the gorgeous, aspiring actress, kind hearted beauty who wants to avoid charmers, like Ben! Ben’s cheesy lines are not the best first impression and like Summer we also wonder if he is just another flirt bad boy! But, we discover he has a heart of gold and is a great guy. Just what Summer needs.

✨There are so many great things about this book. The characters, not just the leads, are all so loveable. The way Savannah describes each and every moment in the book, you just get immersed in it. From their meet cute to their run-ins at the C-side cafe, play acting together for the great island play, everything is so natural. The play which Summer is taking part in, is the story of a mermaid and a pirate, which kind of runs parallel to theirs. It is a closed door romance but moments between Ben & Summer are beautifully penned by Savannah. Also, not to miss, there are great laugh out loud moments during their banter!

✨For me personally the highlight of the book is Ben. He is so fun and flirty but still a caring, loving guy. As the story progresses he not only wins Summer’s heart, but ours too! ❤️

✨The bonus is of course the beautiful chapter headings. The quotes in every chapter heading are so apt to the story. They themselves are worth so much!

✨I could go on, but I would recommend to read this book and go on a trip to Marbella island, and join Team #Bummer!

This was such a good book. It kept me intrigued throughout the story. Summer Monroe is working at a resort while trying to make it as an actress. Ben and his friends have gotten short term jobs at the same resort. When Ben sees Summer he knows she’s the one. Sparks fly, but not in a good way. Summer thinks she knows the kind of man Ben is but after an event, she realizes she has misjudged him. They begin to get to know each other and real feeling emerge.

After getting off to a bad start with Summer Monroe, Ben Haynes is determined to win her heart. He has never met a woman who intrigues him like she does. She seems impervious to his winks, eyebrow waggling, and his charm. I was was all in to see Ben finding ways to show Summer how much he cared for her. My favorite thing he did for her was getting her a chance to go for her dreams.

Summer was really turned off with her first impression of Ben. She had seen enough of flirts and false faces and she assumed Ben was just one more of those kinds of men. Letting down her guard, seeking counsel from older women, and giving Ben a chance won me over to Summer and rooting for her.

Here are some of the things I loved and think you will too:
island resort
practicing lines for the play
the local actresses
resort employees
golf carts
pirates and mermaids
trusting
love is patient
wanting the best for the person you love

I was given a copy of the book. A positive review was not expected. All opinions are my own.

ARC Review:

I had so much fun reading this book. Ben and Summer's story is filled with honesty, trust, and allowing your loved ones to shine. I loved so much about the way that Savannah allowed the story to progress so naturally.

Honestly, if this book is not on your TBR yet, it deserves a spot at the top.

*4.5

This was adorable. It did have a bit of a slow start which is why it isn't five stars but it's so good. Ben is truly obsessed with Summer and it's so cute. He is persistent in wanting to be with Summer and be her friend but never in a way that is overbearing. Ben just shows her that her first impression of him was wrong and that he is actually a good person. It was cute seeing Summer open up and trust him and eventually fall in love with him. This was all just so sweet and I want to read the first book now.

I received an arc through netgalley.

A Fish Out Of Water By Savannah Scott was very enjoyable for me. It is the second booknin the Love Trippin' series but can be read as a standalone. Summer and Ben were such great characters. Summer is an aspiring actress who has a secret and Ben is the goofy, charmer, retriever type guy who trys to win her friendship. Summer had a bad experience with a charmer and pretty much hates Ben from first sight. The banter and chemistry between Summer and Ben was a chef's kiss.

Oh my stars! I am speechless. I am in love with this story and these characters. Summer Monroe just wants to blend in. She has a job at the resort on Marbella Island and is waiting for her break as an actress. She is very serious and not into what she would consider childish antics. Her boat is about to be rocked, literally, when she meets the ferry with the new recruits that are coming to work at the resort. When Ben steps off the boat, he takes her breath away. He is the epitome of a California surfer with the good looks to go with it. As their eyes meet, you can feel the chemistry sizzling off of the pages.

There is one problem. Although Summer notices his good looks, she also sees a charmer and a lady killer who preys on women and tosses them aside (or so she thinks). This is an automatic turnoff for her. Then when he opens his mouth and starts spouting off cheesy lines, the ice queen appears in the form of Summer. You can feel the icy chill even on the beach. You have to understand that Ben is not used to women who do not fawn all over him. He is completely flabbergasted that she is not even remotely interested in him or even talking to him. Ben decides to make it his mission to break through those icy walls she has erected when he is around. You are wondering why she seemingly has a chip on her shoulder. You will learn her reasons. These two could not be more polar opposites. She is buttoned up and straight-laced. He is the class clown who can make a joke out of anything. In my opinion this is a dual trope - opposites attract and enemies to lovers.

I dearly loved this book for so many reasons. I do not have room to list them all, but the witty banter back and forth between all of the characters was so much fun to read. There was a particularly funny scene in the kitchen that had me almost rolling the floor in laughter. Ben was by far one of my most favorite characters ever. He is a prankster and lady's man. However, underneath all that bluster and your first impression of him, you will find a good man who cares about others. He jokes around because he embraces life fully. s I learned more about Summer, I came to love her as well. If you love a romantic comedy with closed door romance, but plenty of swoon, you will find it in this diamond.

This book was a breath of fresh air for me. I fell into this book and did not come out of until several hours later when I finished it. Now I am wondering to myself how I missed books written by Savannah Scott before now. Savannah Scott has a special talent in that she obviously knows how to mix romance, comedy and drama all into one fabulous book. Savannah Scott has a new fan.

Thank you Victory Editing and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Mercy. That man could melt butter with his smile.”

I enjoyed this fun reverse grump and sunshine, story set on a California resort island! I loved Ben in book one and it was so fun reading his story!

Oh how Summer hates him, and he’s not used to that one bit! He tries to win her over which only makes her hate him more! Cue a wonderful enemies to more story that’ll have you smiling, laughing and swooning.

Oh Ben! He’s just so charismatic, sweet and fun! I love him! I also loved getting to know and understand Summer. Their slow burn romance is so sweet.

Read for:
🤍dreamy setting
🤍reverse grump and sunshine
🤍that forced proximity though
🤍A pirate and a mermaid
🤍laugh out loud scenes and pop culture references
🤍Seeing Cam, Riley and Mads again
🤍Lots of swoony kisses

Ben and Summer will take you on an adventure starting from enemies, to the sweetest happy ending. I loved the side characters and the returning characters. This book was very romantic and fun with lots of kisses for all of the ‘kissing book’ lovers out there. If you enjoy sweet Romcoms, you’ll enjoy Ben and Summer’s story.

Content: mentions infidelity, kisses only, very mild innuendo

Summer dream is to be an actress but well, she would have to be content for now with a little role as a Mermaid in the show In so deep in Marbella island,, he place she has just arrived to start fresh.. But then she meets Ben, a gourgeous blondie with amazing eyes but a big mouth, stopping all expectations Summer could have had about him. He seems like the typical player and Summer is not going to settle with a man like him, so he decides to stay far from him. What she doesnt exoect is to find him everywhere she is at aound the island. And now is he also playing the role of Pirate in her show?? No, no, no. She has to keep her distance. But how she can do It when he is oh so charming and tries to rip every wall Summer has built in order to protect herself of his charms?

The second book in the Love trippin' series, A fish out of water is a great lecture, a coming of age story, with two different persons that find out that maybe if they let each other let in , they would not be as out of the wáter as they think and that they are just perfect together .I have enjoyed this book a lot. The summer setting is just great the chemistry amazing, and the characters so lovable. Cant wait for the next in the series!

This was a cute and easy read. I really enjoyed Ben and Summer's story, the island setting, and the added mystery of Summer's background. I do wish her background had played a bit more of a role in the book as a whole - I feel like it wasn't even mentioned, and if it was it was in passing, until about halfway through the story. I also enjoy a good enemies to more story, but wish there had been more interaction between the two MC's in the first quarter of the book - not a lot of plot was happening until about 1/4 of the way through in my opinion. I enjoyed the coffee scenes too; they were all really cute. I liked seeing how characters from the first book in the series were mentioned and on the page; I appreciated how there were no unexpected spoilers from that book and that you could go back to read it without their story being ruined by reading them out of order. Overall, a sweet rom-com that anyone looking for a light and fluffy romance would enjoy!

A Fish Out of Water by Savannah Scott an amazingly sweet and swoony enemies-to-lovers rom-com.

This book is the first I have read by Savannah Scott and I am now most definitely sure it won't be my last. This book was everything I needed for a fresh read, it's got the enemies (kind of) to lovers, great friendships and hidden family secrets.

I really enjoyed reading the banter and the relationship between Ben and Summer grow, Ben is super carefree, charming and gorgeous (he knows it!) and Summer is his opposite.

This book had me smiling and laughing all the way through and I really can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Some tropes;
- enemies to lovers
- forced proximity
- closed door romance

A Fish Out of Water is a wonderfully crafted story of Ben and Summer finding love and overcoming painful pasts. While this is book 2 in a series it absolutely can be read as a stand alone (I did, but you better believe I'll be headed back to read Are We There Yet ASAP!).
As usual Savannah Scott has created lovable characters you can't wait to root for, a bavkstory for each that you can't wait to see revealed. From the moment Summer and Ben squared off on the dock at their "meet cute" I was hooked by their banter and undeniable chemistry.
I received an ARC of this book, this is my honest review. This is a fabulous escape to Marbella island. Read it and enjoy, you won't regret it!

Boy falls first, and boy, does he fall! This was such a cute story about relocating and finding yourself amidst life changes. I was not feeling the actress part as much-i just want the romance and slow burn! Definitely on par with the Shipped series. I love the bromances!! And he cooks and I could picture him cooking so well!

This was also a great read into making you think twice about politicians and what they can control and how far their reach is.
