Jessa Hastings has (unsurprisingly) done it again! I cried, I laughed, I smiled. And as usual, I simply could not put this book down. BJ and Parks have my whole heart. Can't wait for the next book from this incredible author!
If anyone knows me they know this series is my non guilty pleasure. I eat this books up and I’m constantly waiting for the next. It’s like gossip girl on steroids. I literally read them in like one sitting very page turning
This is one of the best books I've ever had the privilege of reading. Truly what an honor to have read the love saga of BJ Ballentine and Magnolia Parks. Magnolia's grief journey in this book should be studied!!!! God, it was so heartbreakingly beautiful and relatable. I could not have asked for a better ending for one of my favorite fictional couples. I love that we dived 10x deeper into their relationship and pasts. I loved unpacking Magnolia's daddy issues, BJ's self-worth issues, and their collective trust issues. And oh my god the Daisy, Christian, and Julian TEA!!!! Especially Julian. I am so excited for the next Daisy Haites book. I could read about these characters and this universe forever. What a force this book was!!! Jessa Hastings in rare form!!!!! A job well done.
I am a massive fan of the Magnolia Parks universe and I love everything that Jessa Hastings has written. This might just be my favourite release of 2024, I just cant get enough of these characters
I love this book series - reminds me so much of gossip girl and time spent studying abroad in London so I was already really attached going on but this was a fantastic conclusion to Magnolia’s story. Even with everything that has happened Magnolia and BJ have such a beautiful conclusion and it felt so deserved. I can’t wait to read more with Daisy and will be purchasing this and continuing the series.
I love the Magnolia Parks series as it is very lighthearted and different from typical popular books. This book needs a lot of work. I felt like there were too many random details and side stories that made the book much longer than necessary and also made it difficult to track. Another thing was that the author would randomly switch from calling people by their various names/nicknames. There was a very quick change from Tiller to Killian with no real insight into why. Overall I loved this book as a way to seemingly wrap up the series. The overall plot and storyline were good and consistent with the other books in the series.
The final installment in Magnolia and BJ’s story was the perfect ending anyone could have asked for. Following the harrowing events of the end of book 2, I was dreading to see how it would be handled. Magnolia has been through so much as a character and Jessa captured her grief perfectly. My heart broke for her. BJ has developed so well as a character in my opinion. He really shapes into the man that Magnolia deserves and I loved seeing all their moments together. Just so happy they got the ending they deserve.
Ugh, loved loved loved this new installment of Magnolia Parks. Jessa writes these characters and their stories so flawlessly. I love this series immensely.
An emotional end to a long journey 🩷. I loved this book. I laughed and cried reading this book. Magnolia and BJ’s story is single-handedly my favorite of all time. Jessa Hastings writing is not only easy to read, but eloquent.
I’ve been a religious follower of the Magnolia Parks Universe. Jessa Hasting has given us pure gold with this series. I can’t get enough of the characters, the drama, the juiciness, the angst, the tears…everything. While story of Magnolia and BJ wraps up beautifully in this final installment of Magnolia Parks (thankfully we will be getting more of Daisy Haites), I have to admit it was my least favorite book of the three. But I still thoroughly enjoyed it and I am very thankful to have stumbled across this series a years ago!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
The perfect conclusion to the epic love story between Magnolia & BJ - while I'm sad their books are over, this ended just as I hoped. I truly hope we will continue to get moments of them in the forthcoming Daisy book!
I can’t believe Magnolia and BJ’s story has concluded. This book was heartbreaking, but by the end you can find solace in the conclusion. The characters are dealing with the events that occurred at the end of the last book, and it felt so real and it made me see certain characters in a different light.
My only problem with this book is it’s extremely long.
Magnolia Parks: Into the Dark by Jessa Hastings was not a book for me, unfortunately. Actually, I just think that I don't vibe well with Jessa Hastings and her writing. It's over the top, verbose and tiring to me. I'm glad I read Int the Dark, though. Once I start a series, it is hard for me to stop midway. I have to see it through so I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for giving me that opportunity. I can see why there's such an appeal for this book and I will be recommending to people who I know will enjoy it.
Throughout the series Magnolia is constantly wondering, “how many loves do you get in a lifetime?” While I do not know the answer to that question, I can tell you that if I was being asked, “how many epic, all-time favorite book series will you read in a lifetime?” my answer would be, “only a few.” The Magnolia Parks Universe is one of them.
From the first page of the first book I was completely consumed by Magnolia Parks and BJ Ballentine. Their relationship is a rollercoaster, but a rollercoaster that I would gladly ride over and over again. They are one of my favorite fictional love stories.
Into the Dark was devastating, healing and beautiful. I tried to take my time reading it and I still felt like each chapter was over too quickly.
*now I just need to know how I am supposed to live my life until the next Daisy Haites book…
I cried a total of 7 separate times reading this book. Cried straight through the last hour of the book. Had to get up and blow my nose kind of crying. Big ol happy sad tears. I don’t know what Jessa puts in these books but they truly make you feel it all. I’ll actually need 10 business days to recover from the emotions I felt reading this.
To sum things up:
I have never loved characters more than I love Magnolia and BJ. (This is saying something bc I was always a bit team Julian) Reading their journey has been incredibly special and I’ll think about them forever. And reading this final book just made me the most emotional. If you’ve read the previous books you know it’s been a rollercoaster. And I won’t lie, the rollercoaster continues in this book. But when I tell you it’s been worth the ride, I mean it wholeheartedly. I’m so proud of Parks and Beej - who they’ve become and where they’ve ended up. Truly just over here feeling like I’m a part of it all and idk if that says more about me or Jessa but here we are. Like they’re my besties and I’m part of the full box set. Trauma bonded if you will.
I don’t want to spoil it by sharing all of the quotes I want to share but I will leave you with this one:
“A love like ours—? Are you joking?” I give her the magic smile. “We’re what the poems are about”.
My Rating: ♾️
Being back with these characters felt like coming home 🥹🖤
I don’t cry when I read books - there have been 2 books before this that have made my eyes start to water, maybe shed a tear or two. BUT THIS BOOK!! I properly cried not once, not twice, but THREE times 😭💫🥺
Did it have to be 720 pages? Probably not. Would I read 720 more? In a heartbeat.
I need my next Daisy book ASAP!!!! ❤️🩹
The way she explored grief, BJ’s continued growth through therapy, the way they love each other, the Julian moments, the VOWS!! It’s truly a piece of art.
Ahhhh!!! I’m so happy I got approved for this one, as the MP/Dh Universe is one of my favorite series of all time. Thank you NetGalley, Dutton, and Jessa Hastings for this opportunity. I am nearly halfway through and I absolutely adore this installment and its focus on grief— how complicated it is to express; the bad habits we slowly find ourselves slipping back into; and how, at the end of the day, the people who love us most will always be there to guide & help us get back on our feet. This book made me cry in the best possible way, so thank you.
It took me a bit to get into this, but then, just like the previous books in the series, I was hooked. Magnolia Parks is often compared to Gossip Girl for adults and I agree -- there is something about a glimpse into the world of the elite that I cannot resist.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC.
Another gripping tale from Jessa Hastings. In this book, Magnolia and BJ contend with love, loss, grief and trust and their upcoming wedding of the century in the fifth book of the Magnolia Parks Universe.
This book in particular Jessa delves into Magnolia and BJ’s respective headspaces in a way she hasn’t before, and the tone of the book is telling of that. Where we pick up in ‘Into the Dark’ it’s been years from the first book, and after all the push-and-pull, Magnolia and BJ are finally for keeps. But the story doesn’t just end there. They still have turmoils they need to overcome, this time together. This book was painful yet beautiful and the journey Magnolia and BJ embark on was an emotional one. Magnolia and BJ’s love transcends time and they truly are in the stars.
How many loves do you get in a lifetime? That’s the question addressed in this book with a heartwarming finality.
Thank you Dutton for this e-ARC.
Magnolia Parks and BJ Ballentine have a movie worthy kind of love. It's been filled with ups and downs for quite the number of years. This one is no exception. Still reeling from a heartbreaking loss, Magnolia must learn to trust BJ completely without running every single time. Their love is finally held together with more than a string, will the wedding of the century help or make it collapse all over again.
I love this series. As someone who typically reads thrillers and mysteries, this is a totally different place. Magnolia Parks is for fashion lovers, fans of Gossip Girl, or anyone who enjoys rich people behaving badly. Highly important though, read the series in order. This is book five.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book.
