A good book on the whole, but very slow pace and lots of repetition. As it progresses, you come to understand the slow pace of the first part. There are a couple of twists, though not completely predictable, I had my suspicions about who did it and they were founded by what happened. The reasoning behind what happened ? I`m not sure about ... could it be possible that you do not know that of some one ?
I`m also not convinced by the influencer aspect of the book, but it is not something that interests me. In some ways the author does poke fun at the shallowness of the people in this world .
A good read and thanks to Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review
This book was so good. It definitely had me hooked from the beginning. I had to know how this story ended. So many good twists and turns. Huge thank you to netgalley for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review.
A very twisty and captiviating read. I was hooked and thought I had it figured out but I loved all the twists. The charactors and thier struggles were well captured by the writer,
THank you to Netgalley, Storm Publishing and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Twists and turns and red herrings everywhere - the comparison to "Gone Girl" is spot on - the same kind of tension and suspense that will keep you addicted into the night.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. Although I did like the plot on this one, overall it was a slow read. Hard to get into.
This was my first book by the author, but I can tell you it will not be my last.
Slow build and I read it all in one day, once I started I just couldn’t stop. Plenty of twists to keep me on my toes! Best part was I didn’t expect any of it!
This was such a good book! I read it in one sitting and could not put it down. I was surprised at the twists in this book! I would definitely recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this! It's really interesting and well written. The pacing is slow at first but then picks up. The twists are good and the ending was good. Overall, I would recommend this! Special Thank You to D.E. White, Storm Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first read from this author and I definitely plan to read more because I enjoyed this book so much.
There were so many twists and turns and I never saw them coming. I didn’t want this book to need because the mystery was so good and at the same time I did because I wanted to find out what was going on.
This one barely hit three stars for me. It was a moderately intriguing book; not completely gripping, but interesting enough to keep me reading in order to find out what happens at the end. Unfortunately, the writing was jumpy, disjointed and repetitive, and it was a pretty implausible storyline, particularly the end. All in all, its a generous 3 stars.
You can’t go wrong picking up a title from this author. With twists and turns a plenty, right from the very start, this book will keep you guessing all the way to the very end!
I love the way this author writes, and how she can bring different situations to life. She really does bring the characters and all that’s happening around them out of the book and into real life around you, or so it feels!
Give yourself some time to get fully emerged into this one.
Wow what a brilliant book so hard to put down once you start! A rollercoaster read! Looking forward to reading more by this author
Absolutely brilliant!! totally unputdownable and has been the perfect read whilst stuck in bed with the cold from hell this week!! I cannot recommend this enough, thanks Netgalley xx
In the last ever video clip of Joy Maddison – a perfect wife and mother – she smiles for the camera, then turns to the woods and sets off on her evening run.
And then she is gone

What an addictive thriller this is! The story is so catchy and the twists are coming with every chapter
.
I've not been so caught by a story since Gone Girl and this says a lot
.
The author has brilliantly executed this book. The characters are so flawed and all have something to hide
.
I have read it as soon as Vic from @instabooktours sent it over for the tour. I had high expectations and it did not disappoint one bit
.
Totally recommend it
What does a woman whose been missing for 5 years and a recovering drug addict have in common? Joy a married woman with a daughter and husband goes missing and on the anniversary of her disappearance her sister , a police officer is willing to do anything to solve it.
For people that like a good mystery this could be it but I found it too long and a tad repetitive. The ending was a bit of surprise but unbelievable to me. Others love the story but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I will try other books by this author though.
Twisty. Slow build. Secrets. Lies.
It had all the things! I hadn’t read this author before, and while it did take a while to pick up, eventually it did and I got invested.
Like others, I may have thought about not waiting until it came together, but by the end, there was enough there to be a solid 3.8!
"You Know Her" by D. E. White immerses readers in a dark and gripping thriller, weaving a narrative tapestry that's both grim and graphic. Through multiple points of view, the author skillfully delves into society's unsettling obsession with social media stars, painting a vivid and twisted portrait of the consequences of fame.
The setting, reminiscent of the coastal charm of Saltburn, becomes a character in itself, adding depth and resonance to the unfolding drama within Joy's house and its surroundings. However, this intricate backdrop, while enhancing the overall atmosphere, occasionally presents a challenge as the narrative unfolds with a myriad of events, making it a demanding task to keep up with the intricacies.
At the heart of the story is the theme of trust, a fragile thread that weaves through the relationships of the characters. As the plot twists unfold, the narrative explores the treacherous terrain of friendships, leaving readers questioning the authenticity of alliances. The shocking revelations and unexpected turns keep the suspense alive, transforming the novel into a mysterious thriller that captivates until the final page.
Amidst the complexities, the struggle to navigate the labyrinth of the story's details adds an additional layer of engagement. The narrative maintains a sense of suspense, inviting readers to untangle the secrets concealed within its pages. The challenges of a plot with a lot going on are counterbalanced by the rich depth it brings to the overall experience.
In my reading journey, the flexibility of switching between the ebook and audiobook formats proved invaluable. This dual experience not only offered a respite during the challenges of reading on my Kindle amidst pregnancy but also provided a dynamic and immersive dimension to the storytelling.
Heartfelt appreciation goes to Insta Book Tours for the copy, extending an invitation to explore this enigmatic tale. Despite the occasional complexity, "You Know Her" stands as a commendable addition to the thriller genre, deserving of a solid 3/5 stars. The mysterious and complex layers of the narrative create a compelling read, leaving readers enthralled by its dark allure.
I read this in one sitting, I couldn't put it down and had to know what was happening and why. I really enjoyed it
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to review this title.
I am loving books revolving around influencers at the moment having read others by different authors such as SV Leonard and this one was equally amazing!! Lots of twists and turns to keep you glued to the page and enough details to make you both love and hate the main character all at once!
You know her by D.E. White.
In the last ever video clip of Joy Maddison – a perfect wife and mother – she smiles for the camera, then turns to the woods and sets off on her evening run.
And then she is gone.
I lean forward and touch her face on the TV screen. The evening sunlight catches her long blonde hair, turning the strands to threads of true gold. Her laughter always makes me smile, as though we share a private joke.
Which in a way is true, isn’t it, darling?
I’m watching a documentary, made for the five-year anniversary of her disappearance. She would have loved this, being centre stage on a Saturday night.
She was adored by all of us, but, in the end, I was the only one who loved her enough to make sure she got what she really deserved.
I just didn’t expect her to come back.
This was a really good read but I did not like the repitions. I did find it slow going at first. I did nearly give up but I'm glad I didn't as there is lots of red herrings and a big twist. I certainly didn't see that coming. I really didn't expect that. I did like Joy and Lucy. I didn't like Frank. He did surprise me. I did like the ending. 4*.
