Decent book! There wasn’t anything that I hated about this book, and it was a very easy read! Nice job!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was unable to download and read Survivalism for Hedonists before it was published and archived. I look forward to reading it soon!

This book could have been interesting, but man it was boring (to me at least).

Thank you NetGalley and Querencia Press for the chance to read this!

The premise of this book was interesting, but the way the language presents itself is difficult for the average reader to follow. Though this is a short collection, the poems require enough rereading to truly grasp their understanding, making it a slower read.

Survivalism for Hedonists is a whirlwind of ineffable metaphor. Based on the author's kept journals, these poems were born out of a Python Script that scrambled them into nigh inscrutable poetry.

The attempt at breaking form is commendable and interesting but the overall work lacks base and structure. It's an interesting read but not a cohesive one.

~3.5~

Part of me liked the experience of reading this book. The other part has a headache from some of the confusing things I read.

Survivalism for Hedonists, to me, is a mix of "oh wow this is really great!" and "my brain hurts". The formatting was definitely not helpful because a lot of lines and words were a bit all over the place.

In reality, the writing was interesting and quite creative. I don't remember the last time I read something that confused me so much, in a good way (and also a not so good way).

I am very happy I got to read this book before it came out (which is today, CRAZY!) and share what I thought of it. Thanks for that!

Signing off,
B.
