This tale took me down under to Australia. It opens with a very erotic scene between two of the protagonists namely Alison and Jeremy. In fact, the entire novel is liberally spiced with erotic scenes. Horne took me back to a time when the cold war had just ended. But Australia had another large problem looming on its horizon in the shape of East Timor. The powers that be have chosen Captain Jeremy Holland to be the Australian saviour. The question is does he have what it takes to complete the task?
A military thriller with vivid scenes it would certainly appeal to those who like the erotica genre. The story is compelling and Horne weaves a riveting tale of sensuality and passion. There are numerous subplots which make for intriguing reading. Not very sure there’s a ghost in this tale though. They kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed reading about Australia and the other locales mentioned in the novel. This is book 2 in the series. I hadn’t read the first book but had no problem following the storyline.
An interesting read, but not quite my cup of tea. Lots of flashing back and forwards through time and so I wasn't always able to keep up.
A good war time drama if you like them.
Thank you to Audrey Horne and NetGalley for giving me an e-copy of this book.
The cold war has ended, but the world is more dangerous than ever. In the tiny Indonesian province of East Timor, a storm is about to burst. Australia needs a man to see to its interests in the burnt out Timorese capital of Dili. But the only one they have is drowning in heartache a thousand miles to the south. Can Jeremy Holland rise from his morass to be the man in Australia’s hour of need, and who is the Ghost of Timor? In the sweat soaked satin sheets of an exclusive Canberra hotel, Captain Jeremy Holland retells the tale of his adventurous and erotic life. Former paramour, Alison Benaud, newly liberated from her loveless and uneventful life, listens with intent. As Jeremy unfurls the post-cold war erotic thriller story of the Ghost of Timor, Alison’s long repressed sexual desires reassert themselves. Is Jeremy the man to rescue her from a lifetime of boredom, or is he also hiding something?
It is a quick and easy read. It has a unique plot. I thoroughly enjoy it.

This book is a great read but maybe not for those easily offended. It’s really well written and although there are plenty of erotic episodes they fit the story rather than the usual story contrived to fit the erotica. It’s paced for a quick read but the story carries it through to the twist at the end.
