hooked and hooked some more. Loved all of this and couldn't put it down. I was like oh my. I need to know more. Read it.
After reading this ARC via NetGalley, I can share that Pamela Kelley didn’t disappoint with THE SEASIDE SISTERS. Knowing Chatham, I found myself right there with the characters - I was walking Shore Road with Hannah and sitting at the bar in The Squire enjoying the bands with her and her friends. An added treat was the check-ins with the characters from BOOKSHOP BY THE BAY.
I enjoyed this easy read and look forward to a possible sequel!
The Seaside Sisters is another awesome read from Pamela M. Kelley! I am so grateful to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for sending me this ARC.
I absolutely loved this book. As is the case for most of Pamela’s books, I found new friends and revisited one of my favorite places: Chatham and the Chatham Bars Inn on beautiful Cape Cod.
All the elements of a “feel good” book were there: New Characters and some from a previous book, Romance, Intrigue and the fact that the story revolves around a new author contributed to make this such a joyful experience.
Fans of Pamela will not be disappointed!
4 stars out fo 5.
This was the perfect beach novel I needed, a true feel good book. I really enjoyed reading about all three of the women. We got to see their struggles after the death of Hannah and Sara's mother and how they were able to overcome such tragedy. I was able to get a clear picture of Chatham from the descriptions in the book which really brought me there. If you are looking for a book about family, romance, and the beach this book is for you!
In The Seaside Sisters, we open with Hannah. She is an author that just published her first book and is working on her second. She seems to have a case of writers block which she thinks is because of stress. Her mother recently died and she just ended a long relationship. Hannah decides she needs a change of scenery from Brooklyn and decides to head to her home town, Chatham and stay with her Aunt Maddie. Her sister, Sara, also lives in their home town with her husband and 4 boys. We see in the book that both Sara and Aunt Maddie have struggles of their own. The rest of the book shows just how everyone overcomes and there is a little romance sprinkled in too.
Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC one exchange for my honest review.
i WANTED TO LIKE IT, BUT I COULDNT it . I wish I wouldn't have gone from Sara to Hannah at the beginning. It felt flat there was no excitment.. I understand getting over loosing someone but Idk.
I was somewhat disappointed in this book. The writing seemed contrived and the plot totally expected. I liked the characters but they needed more development. Everyone was so blah - all good or all bad. The writing also seemed elementary. Having said all that, I did enjoy the characters- i just wanted to know more about them.
I was attracted to the novel, Seaside Sisters, because of. the beach setting and having enjoyed other novels by the author, Pamela Kelly. This was just the escape I was looking for.
The story closely follows 3 women in a family, all grieving the death of their mother or sister. The setting of Chatham, Massachusetts is also a character and I enjoyed the descriptions of the town, bookstore, cafes, and restaurants. All the female characters are facing challenges in their personal lives. These problems are all relatable, and it is interesting to see how they all resolve these issues. I liked that all the main characters dealt with life in a reasonable and logical way and all got their HEA.
I very much enjoyed the story.
Grieving the death of her mother, Hannah's struggling to move forward and her looming manuscript deadline is a blank computer screen. Her beloved aunt invites her to home to Chatham for the summer and Hannah leaves the sweltering heat of the city behind for a chance to cool her racing pain attacks.
Reestablishing her close knit relationship with her sister, Hannah embraces the slower-paced Cape Cod lifestyle and its tranquil beauty. The words begin to flow and a neighbor's grandson proves an unexpected friend. As her summer by the sea drifts to its conclusion, is Hannah ready to leave her childhood home behind?
Thank you for #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition of The Seaside Sisters in exchange for an honest review. Pamela M. Kelley's beachside setting and charismatic characters provide a welcome escape read.
What a treat I received when I downloaded an ARC of The Seaside Sisters by Pamela M Kelley from Netgalley! I have enjoyed reading her ebooks and this one was an exceptional read! The story tells us about Hannah, a writer who decides to return to Chatham, a beautiful seaside Cape Cod town where she lived growing up. She decided to spend the summer months while writing her latest book with her Aunt Maddie, a literary agent for years. Also she will see her sister, Sara, who lives in this town with her husband, Tom, and their four sons! I loved reading about all the characters, such as Joy and Ben, the neighbors of Aunt Maddie and their grandson, Spencer.. I also loved the descriptions and happenings while the characters visited the downtown shops, such as the bookstore and the coffeeshop, the seafood restaurants, and especially the mention of all the foods and recipes which made me wish I could be there myself. Pamela M. Kelley is an amazing writer, well worth a reader's time spent reading her books. Kudos to Pamela M. Kelley!
Pamela Kelley is an auto buy author for me. I always highly anticipate her upcoming releases and I am thrilled with her longer, women's fiction releases.
The Seaside Sisters was a five star read for me. I truly enjoy beach scene books and, as a former bookstore owner, having an author as a main character and a book shop as a popular back ground location made this even better to me.
The Seaside Sisters is a follow up to Ms. Kelley's The Bookshop By The Bay but the books are stand alone releases.
I highly recommend you read both books for a relaxing getaway.
MY thanks to #NetGalley, #St. Martin"s Press and #Kejana Ayala for allowing me the opportunity to early read and enjoy The Seaside Sisters.
A true feel good novel about Hannah, a Brooklyn based bestselling author, who decides to take the summer off and visit her late mothers hometown of Chatham, a small seaside town in Cape Cod where you’ll have an instant draw to visit. The sights are beautiful, the shops are quaint, the people are neighborly and the food is delicious. Everything about the summer is going right for Hannah, so what will she do at the end of the summer when faced with the decision to return to Brooklyn or extend her vacation forever?
I was able to read this ARC from NetGalley and I enjoyed it. I loved reading about Cape Cod and could picture it in my mind from the descriptions. I also really like the story about Hannah, her writing career, and various new friendships. It was a quick read that I didn’t want to put down.
I always enjoy books from Pamela Kelley because she creates relatable characters. Seaside Sisters takes place in Chatham MA The main characters are sisters Hannah, an author and Sara, a married mom of 4 boys. This is a light and easy read about summer at the beach, romance and family. It’s a perfect story that will come out this June just in time for a beach read.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I read this beach book while it was -17 outside! Pamela’s writing is just so easy to get lost in. She describes characters, scenes, and food so well. You really feel like you’re there with the story. Hannah goes to visit family in Chatham to help deal with her writers block. She finds love. She watches her sister deal with family issues. She watches her aunt and uncle reconnect. Very heartwarming!
I loved reading this book that will be released in June of this summer! This is the second book that Pamela has written that takes place on the Cape, and I could see everything she described in my mind's eye; what I couldn't see, I could imagine. Pamela's book feel like a cozy afternoon at home doing your favorite thing and being with the ones you love the most. I loved reading about Maddie, Sara, and Hannah as they spent a magical summer together in Chatham on the Cape. I read this already, but I'll still buy a copy for my collection when it comes out; I encourage you to do the same!
I was intrigued by the premise and excited to download this book as soon as I read the burb and saw it was about a Cape Codder turned Brooklynite. Hannah is an author from Chatham, MA (on Cape Cod), which is coincidentally the same town where I grew up. Like the main character, I left the Cape and lived in NYC for several years, but still enjoy returning to my hometown for visits.
In the book, Hannah decides to spend the summer in Chatham to finish her next novel after a breakup and the passing of her mother. The story is definitely best characterized as a lighthearted/tame romance. Although Pamela Kelley is a prolific author of this genre, I had never read one of her books before.
Overall, I enjoyed the descriptions of Chatham and the real-life local businesses that Kelley included, but the plot itself was typical of this genre and predictable, and much of the book was limited to fairly simplistic and sometimes repetitive dialogue between the characters. If it hadn't been set in my hometown, I may not have rated this book as highly, but only because this type of book isn't really my cup of tea. However, if you're seeking a breezy beach read, and you are interested in learning more about the Cape, then I would certainly recommend you give this a go!
Thank you to St. Martin's Griffin, NetGalley, and the author for an advanced copy of this novel to review.
I very much enjoyed this book. The author does a great job setting the scenes - I would love to visit the locations she describes in the book. I thought the character interaction was believable and well paced. I hope this might be the beginning of a new series as I would like to see others in this book have their stories told. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinions. I would like to thank the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this opportunity. I look forward to this author's next book!
I enjoyed reading this book by Pamela Kelley. It’s about sisters and family, getting past grief and picking up the pieces of life.
I was blessed by this author and NetGalley to read an advanced copy of this awesome book. Pamela Kelley brings her readers into the separate lives of two sisters who are united in their grief and finding their way through it during a summer at a special place where they grew up. While I’ve never had a sister, if I did, I would want to forge a bond such as these two have that is brought out by the author. The Seaside Sisters does not disappoint in its dealing with relationships of all kinds as well as troubles and trials we deal with every day. Thank you!
This book surprised me as I was reading it. I quickly became mesmerized at the story of Claire and her daughter, Lilah, who lived on a lake in the perfect, quiet, serene town of Summerville . I liked that the author quickly cast a pebble into that lake and the ripple effect throughout the book was amazing and astonishing. It certainly turned Claire's world upside down and I could not stop reading and wondering what she would do next.
I liked meeting Audrey and learning about her life. I found it interesting to learn how their lives fit together and if they were sisters. This book was like putting together a 500 piece puzzle. Sometimes it was easy, sometimes hard, and sometimes pieces were missing that Claire desperately needed to find.
I now want to read more books by this author because I really enjoyed reading this book. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
