I always look forward to reading books by Pamela Kelley. They are what I describe as a comfortable read with fun characters, interesting but not heavy storylines and always great settings. This book was no exception I especially enjoyed the age variations of the characters in The Seaside Sisters. Thanks #NetGalley #SaintMartinsPress #PamelaMKelley
Are you looking for a good summer read? The Seaside Sisters by Pamela M. Kelley may be just what you are looking for. This was a cute story about the lives of two sisters and the choices they make the summer after their mother passed away. One sister is a stay-at-home mom and the other is a new, up and coming author. It is set in a seaside town so it gives just the right summer beach vibes to make it a terrific vacation read. (Thank you NetGalley & St. Martin’s Press for letting me preview this book. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to leave a positive review & all opinions are my own.)
I enjoyed the setting and characters in this enjoyable vacation read. Hannah is suffering from writers block after her first successful novel. Hannah decides to leave her Brooklyn apartment for her home in Chatham on Cape Cod, to spend time with her sister, Sara, and her Aunt Maddie. Sara has been taking care of her four sons and household, anxious to get back to work, even though her husband is not cooperating. Aunt Maddie, a literary agent, divides her time between Manhattan and Chatham, and is temporarily separated from her husband. Recommended for a good beach read. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
Two sisters have the chance to reconnect in Cape Cod, MA. Hannah is an author working on her second book and has the opportunity to leave her home in Brooklyn to stay with her aunt at the cape. Her older sister, Sara lives there too and she’s been struggling with her marriage and the mom to 4 young kids. She’s lost herself a little and she’s hoping a new part time job will help get some back. Her husband takes her for granted and he really resents her new job when it takes her away from her family at times.
Sara does some research for her new book at a local law firm and rekindles an old friendship with Spencer, a guy she knows from high school. They get closer as the story goes on and I enjoyed their blossoming relationship.
One of the big reasons, I enjoyed this so much was that it referenced a lot of real places in one of my all time favorite towns, Chatham, MA. The @chathamsquire is one of my favorite restaurants and my husband and I had our parents meet for the first time at the @chathambarsinn after we were engaged!
Thank you @stmartinspress and @macmillanaudio for my gifted copy.
This was my first read from author Pamela Kelley, but it left me likely to search out other books from this author. I enjoyed the artistic way she described Chatham on the Cape coast. I also enjoyed following the main character Hannah's summer journey dealing with her mother's death, reconnecting with her sister and aunt, and opening herself to love. This book is a great summer read, perfect for afternoons at the beach or pool. Well done.
Thank you to the Publisher for the chance to read this book. All opinions expressed are voluntary and my own thoughts and views.
This was a beaach read that focused more so on family than romance. The character of Hannah spoke to me with her anxiety with regards to her deadline. Each of the other characters seemed nice, but I didn't feel the story really came together for me.
Huge thank you to

First of all I wish I was sitting in one of those chairs right now on the beach reading! Anyway, this would be a great book to bring to the beach. Two grown sisters and their aunt take the summer to figure out who they truly want to be and this one summer will change all of their lives. I love a book set in the summer and this one is full of summer vibes, growth and love.
THE SEASIDE SISTERS by Pamela Kelley was just the break I needed. What a comfort to drop back to a slower-paced lifestyle and enter the beach life of Cape Cod. I love this author’s writing, and this story is an engaging blend of the life of an author and the struggle to deal with life’s twists and turns. This book focuses on human relationships and our need to help one another.
Two sisters, Hannah and Sara, renew their relationship as they each struggle with difficult stages in their lives. The narrative is authentic, and the reader is drawn into the story, one with a hidden message to pursue our passion and find what truly makes us happy and fulfilled in life.

This is a sweet story of two sisters as they work through their grief of losing their mother. During a summer spent back home in Cape Cod, they reconnect with each other, their Aunt Maddie and find romance.

Charming, lighthearted beach read that follows the stories and relationships of Hannah, her sister, and their aunt.
A fun beach read. This was my first Pamela Kelley book and I loved it. It was an easy, comfort read with a clean romance. Very much recommend.
The Seaside Sisters is a charming little summer beach read with all the Hallmark vibes. Loved the slower pace of life in this quant small town, and the relationship that are built here.
This would be a great book to read on vacation.
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for this arc in return for my honest review.
I was really looking forward to reading Pamela Kelley's The Seaside Sisters after reading last year's summer book The Bookshop by the Bay. I started it right before I left on my vacation and worried that I wouldn't have time to read much during camp.
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book as much. I don't think I connected with the characters very much. The story is largely focused on Hannah who I felt might have been in her late 20s maybe early 30s. So maybe it is because I prefer books with an older protagonist. I would have liked to have seen more of Hannah's aunt Maddie as I really liked the sections that featured her. I liked Hannah's sister Sara more than I did Hannah, but I don't think I would have liked having more of her in the book.
I also didn't feel like there was a lot of tension in the book. The conflicts (if they can be called that) in the plot were easily solved and overall, the plot was pretty predictable.
It was a mindless read with an easy-to-follow plot and a small cast. So if you are on vacation with a lot of activity or interruptions then this would be a great book to read. It is easy to pick up and put down without losing the plot.

Hannah is suffering a serious case of writer's block. Still mired in grief from the loss of her mother, Hannah recently broke up with her boyfriend of two years. Facing a publishing deadline in a few months, she needs a change of scenery.
Looking for inspiration she returns to her childhood home of Chatham on Cape Cod hoping the quieter surroundings and some time with her sister Sara and her Aunt Maddie will get her creative juices flowing again.
For their own part, both Sara and Maddie are thrilled to have Hannah back home. They are both going through a bit of a rough patch in their marriages and feeling frustrated. A girls' summer shopping, lunches and time with friends and each other may just be what they all need.
Three different women, connected by the bonds of family. And sharing a common goal. They are at a crossroads, searching for meaning in their life they feel like they have lost in living their lives for someone else. They are each other's best support in the journey.
This is an uplifting story of friendship, family and sisterhood. it's the perfect beach read. A quick read that will wrap you up and leave you with a warm feeling in your heart.
Light, breezy, exactly what a summer woman’s book should be. I was surprised at how often I found myself smiling while I was reading. There is nothing heavy duty here, nothing to bog you down, just a very quick, entertaining story with Chatham, Cape Cod as a setting. I read this as a standalone and did not feel as if I was dropped in the middle with no clue.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Griffin and NetGalley for this light and polite beach read.
This is my first Pamela Kelley novel and I immediately ran and bought two more of her books because I loved this so much! This was the perfect summer women's fiction read. It wrapped up the feelings of family, marriage, motherhood, life after loss and all that comes with those things so well and I ate it up. A lot of times when I read a book following multiple people with multiple storylines I tend to get immersed in one while not caring too much about one or the other but I was so invested in all 3 of our main characters stories. If you are looking for a beach read that is easy to follow, that flows perfectly, with great bookish undertones, and a beautiful family storyline please pick this up.
I really struggled to get into this story, The story itself was cute however there was 3 peoples stories you are following so right as you get into one another one starts so I find this difficult to keep up with at times. I did like Sara and Hannah and felt like their closeness is what all sister want/have. I loved Joy she was so fun and always wanting what was best for everyone involved. Overall I don't think this is the book for me.
The Seaside Sisters is set in a small beach town of Chatham, Cape Cod. Hannah and Sara are sisters. Sara stayed in Chatham, got married and is the mother of four. She gave up her job as a librarian and stayed home to raise her four boys. She is ready to return to the workforce and takes a part time job at a bookstore. Hannah is an author and is struggling with her second book, as well as dealing with a recent loss and panic attacks. She heads to Chatham for a fresh start and inspiration. She moves in with her aunt, at her ocean front house. Her Aunt Maddie is in publishing and is recently separated from her husband. All three women rely on one another and rekindle supportive relationships to decide what is next in their lives.
The book is told from multiple POVs, but was easy to follow. I enjoy stories of family, especially sisters and this was a comfortable story. Sara's story will be familiar to many women. The wife and mother that lose their personal identity and are taken for granted. I got very frustrated with her husband and was happy to see her take the steps necessary to force not only her husband, but her children into seeing all she did for them and getting the chance to become more than a wife and mother. Hannah's story was okay for me. She rekindles a relationship and works on her writing with others, but she was just an okay character for me. Aunt Maddie's story was also a bit slow. I thought her feelings about her relationship was a bit forced and it works out quite easily, without much depth. This was an okay story for me, not much happened, except for Sara's story. If you enjoy an easy listening story of family and new beginnings, this one might be for you to read at the beach or by the pool.
Hannah finds her self traveling back to where she grew up for various reasons; she is an author and is having trouble writing so she is leaving her home in New York to travel back to Cape Cod. Her mother recently passed so this will give her time to re connect with her sister Sara and her aunt who she will be staying with. Sara is married with 4 kids and is itching to start working again; she wants to find herself so with Hannah being back she is able to enjoy nights out and making new friends. Hannah runs into an old high school acquaintance , Spencer, who's grandparents live next door to her Aunt so she begins to see him often. With meddling older family members more than friendship begins to bloom for Hannah and Spencer.
This was such a good summer read! Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for my ARC!
What a pleasant surprise to discover that The Seaside Sisters contains characters already familiar to me from the author's previous book The Bookshop by the Bay. As a lifelong bookworm and former bookseller, I was especially drawn to the book-centered themes in both books. Hopefully the author will continue with this series. I like the way she includes multiple generations in her characters as well as everyday relatable situations. The Seaside Sisters makes a welcome addition to summer reading lists for readers who enjoy women's fiction. Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and the author for a copy to read and review.
