I enjoyed the personification of the Beaver and how he learned to advocate for himself. I think this would be a great part of an SEL unit or even just a read-aloud to then discuss times that they have spoken up for their opinions/needs and how they felt, how others responded, what they would do next time, etc. It would also be a fun way to introduce a persuasive unit, particular a persuasive speech and why it's important to be able to speak up for yourself, even or especially when it feels uncomfortable to do so. This is a great discussion starter and would be a good addition to any classroom, school, or public library or picture book collection.

This fun little story highlights the diversity of trees in the forest and why different trees are most useful to certain animals. It also shows that the shy one has very good ideas.
The illustrations by the author are fun, detailed, brilliant, and lively.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your local public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from IBPA/independently published via NetGalley. Thank you!
