I'm loving this series and this book is no exception. Wonderfully written characters that draw you and make you feel like you are visiting old friends rather than just reading another sweet story in a book. A quaint town that I would love to be able to visit in real life, if only it really existed! Interactions between friends, family, neighbors and businesses that draw you in and make you care. I could seriously see this series becoming a series of movies on the Hallmark Channel so if you love a sweet romance with a bit of angst then this book is perfect for you. I do recommend that you read the series in order as you'll build a better foundation for the town and the backstory of the characters will be better fleshed out for you, plus hours of entertaining reading! In this particular installment to the series, you have two people who have come to a crossroads in their future and are struggling with making the decision of how best to continue moving forward. As they keep bumping into each other a sweet romance pops up between them, but can the romance survive if there is a lack of honesty and trust? You might get a bit teary while reading, but overall, it is a joyful read that leads to a happily ever after that will make your heart swoon!
The Allotment on Willow Tree Lane by Lilac Mills brings the reader back to the quaint Foxmore village. It does us a good turn just as it does new teacher Ceri Morgan and rockstar, Damon Rogers. A story of new beginnings, remembering the past, unknown identities, loss, and recovery. Of course, there is romance too.
Easy to read with characters even easier to like. This is a ray of hope kind of story on a raining day. You just know that when the storm is over the sun will shine again.
An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Loved reading this, great characters, lovely setting and very well written. 5 stars
Thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for this ARC
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I enjoyed reading this book.
Ceri, who is a horticulturist wants to have her own nursery, where plants and flowers grow. But, she’s just starting a teaching job in a college at Foxmore .
When she attends her brothers wedding, she meets a guy she finds very handsome. They have a few passionate moments.
Then, she meets him again a few days later, in a graveyard, where she realises who he is, the owner of the place she wishes to use.
Damon, a rockstar, is in Foxmore living in his Grandmother’s house, he recently lost a member of his band and wants time to come to terms with what’s happened.
The garden is in need of some maintenance and he asks Ceri to help him make it beautiful again.
I recommend this book.
🎛🎤Engaging, cozy small town romance🌱🏘
4.5🌟stars
An eminently enjoyable, sweet romance that kept me thoroughly engaged, especially since I was wondering just when the shoe would drop and Damon's big secret about his rock star profession would be revealed to the budding horticulture teacher who he becomes entranced by at first sight.
I fell into this series because I was familiar with author Lilac Mills' work and her delightful way of making village characters come alive. I was in no way disappointed by either the character development here or the plot (oh, what a crop of garden-themed expressions this story lends itself to😏). And such lovely descriptions of nature as Ceri casts her gaze about and gets stuck in to beautify and organize gardening projects around the village.
The bits of grief and sadness lend a nice contrast to the developing romance and the lovely community spirit shines through in this easy escape to village life in rural Wales.
Thanks to Canelo and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
.
Enjoyed this one. The story was cute and not too slow. But the silly fights and baseless accusations between the main characters were juvenile, not the kind of things I expected from adults. People need to communicate better in these types of books.
This was a really cute romantic novel that I actually enjoyed reading and an unexpected romance between a rockstar and a teacher.
Damon is a rockstar of a popular band. When one of his bandmates died in a car accident in Berlin, Damon, wanted to get away from the hounding press and moved to Foxmore for some quiet time. He meets Ceri, who is a teacher who is struggling to keep the class in line. A romance blossoms develops Ceri and Damon and it is the story after that.
I always enjoyed reading Lilac Mills' stories as it kind of gives a burst of sunshine. This book is no exception. Damon and Ceri seemed to have chemistry between them which made them fall in love with each other. The way Ceri helps Damon with weeding his grandmother's garden and how slowly they started falling in love was too cute. The scenic countryside descriptions was beautifully descriptive and makes the reader feel like they are actually in the countryside with Damon and Ceri. Overall I actually enjoyed reading this romance novel and worth four stars.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Canelo for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.
This book features two likeable main characters, Ceri, who's a horticulturist, and Damon, who's a grieving rock star. They have a lovely meet cute in a field at a wedding.
I loved the gardening references and the allotment storyline, although the book really is about the romance between the main characters.
After a tragiic accident Damon lead singer to a rock band comes home to foxmore to try to sort his life out.
Cari bumps into him at her brothers wedding reception were they share a kiss.
Damon is staying at his grandma old house that has been neglected since she died 8 years ago when he decides to tackle the overgrown garden she loved..
And just like that we are back in Foxmore. I love this place, its such a idyllic village. Not only are we back in Foxmore but we also have an allotment, something I've wanted for such a long time.
Lilac Mills' writing is easy to read and she writes stories that you can easily picture yourself in. Loved catching up with characters from the previous Foxmore book I read and looking forward to paying another visit.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really charming story, gorgeous setting, very well written, flowed well, great characters that i could really connect too, and it was a lovely read. Lilac is one of my auto authors, i have read every book she has ever written.

A very sweet story .Ceri is an horticulturist who just want to create her nursery but for now she is teaching in college at Foxmore . At her brother's wedding she meets a handsome guy and they share few passionate kisses . Few days later she meet him at the graveyard and finally discover that he is the owner of the orchard she want to use . Damon is a rockstar and came to stay at his grandma house after the death of one of his bandmate so he can escape the paparazzi and the chaos . The garden that his grandma loved so much is in very bad condition so he asks from Ceri her help . Will she be able to fix his garden and win his heart ?
I received this book from netgalley and the publicer as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .
I thoroughly enjoyed "The Allotment on Willow Tree Lane" by Lilac Mills. It proved to be an engaging and delightful read. The narrative flowed effortlessly, making it a pleasant and undemanding experience.
This delightful novel proved to be a captivating and enjoyable addition to the Foxmore series. Mills, known for concluding her series after three books, potentially marks this as the end, which is bittersweet for fans like myself who have come to adore the enchanting world she has crafted.
The book's narrative unfolds seamlessly, making it an effortlessly engaging and light-hearted read. The familiarity of characters from the initial book, experiencing their happily ever after, added a nostalgic touch, creating a sense of continuity within the series. Simultaneously, the introduction of Hew's sister, Ceri, injected fresh energy into the storyline, expanding the scope of the Foxmore universe.
A notable highlight of the novel is the commendable development of Damon's character. The depth and authenticity brought to his journey throughout the story added a layer of complexity that transcended the typical romantic narrative. It's a testament to Mills' skill in crafting characters that resonate with readers on a profound level.
In summary, this is more than just a heartwarming read; it's a testament to Lilac Mills' storytelling prowess. With its charming narrative, well-developed characters, and a perfect blend of familiarity and novelty, this book is a delightful conclusion (or hopefully a pause) to the Foxmore series. Lilac Mills continues to deliver an enchanting literary experience for those seeking an immersive and uplifting escape.
This is a very cute, closed door romance. He’s a rockstar who just lost his best friend/bandmate and she’s a horticulturist starting a new job teaching. They both end up in the same small town, and end up working on his very overgrown garden together. It was a cute read but did have a 3rd act break up which is never fun.
A lighthearted and upbeat tale that may be read any day or is ideal for keeping you amused during tea breaks from tedious gardening chores. If you enjoy gardening, you'll find the account of Ceri's allotment plans and garden descriptions to be really calming. The passages about gardening and allotments prompted me to get some work done in mine, which I consider a plus for the book. I enjoyed reading about Ceri and Aiden's gardening passion and how they pursued it.
While I enjoyed the gardening portion of the story, I wasn't as taken with their love story. What irritates me is how they handled their emotions and all that drama ensued. It's boring and uninteresting since it's a scenario I read about all the time in fiction. There was a lot going on in Aiden's life, but I never warmed up to him or felt anything for him. Ceri, on the other hand, is fun, endearing and is at the core of the plot. Did I mention the ending also seemed a little abrupt?, unless there is more to look forward to.
I've recently read and loved another series by Lilac Mills, so I couldn't wait to start another. I requested this just so I could binge-read the series in one go, and I wasn't disappointed.
Like the previous books, this follows the general theme of looking out for the environment and is set in a small village in Wales. The kind of place where everyone knows each other. This series has a dash of spice.
This story is about Ceri, who has moved into the village and is living in her brothers old house. She's about to start a new job as a teacher and would love to resurrect the old, abandoned allotments. Which backs onto Damon's house, the grumpy rock star.
I just loved watching their storyline play out, their background story, and their spicy romance blossom.
It can easily be read as a standalone
A very good and enjoyable book, i could not put it down. Simply loved the characters; laughed a lot and at times felt heartbroken too. Also, the heroine was the absolute best, overall had very strong and admirable leads.
I really enjoyed this story with great characters and a fun and unique storyline. A sweet story with fun support characters as well.
I love Lilac Mills books. This was a lovely love story. Damon and Ceri met during a wedding and you follow their love story . Lots of twists and you learnt lots of garden knowledge . One of those reads that left you feeling happy. Makes you not so keen on fame. Read it
